Some of the tackles are pretty! Seeing Lynch & Helu run up the middle was a beautiful site at times... bumping into linemen, breaking tackles, getting tackled. When the RTP didn't get out of hand, it looked like the game I'd been waiting for.

The actual passing was great. I felt like I had more control over passes, hitting WRs in some very small windows at times, between & over LBs & DBs. Catches were great & I could run after the catch more than I ever remember.

And the graphics... very pretty game! The graphics are definitely the best aspect and give any sports video game a run for it's money. I'm curious how FIFA & NBA 2K will compare.

If I could run up the middle & throw qucik, 3-step drop passes all game & have my opponent do the same, Madden would be sweet.

Unfortunately, 75% of what I've been complaining about this entire generation has still not been addressed. If EA dedicates as much time to engaged player mobility, footwork, run fits & defensive play calling next year, as they did to RTP & passing this year, Madden will be solid. Until then, I just don't feel like I'm playing NFL football.
Agreed. This is by far the prettiest sports game I've ever played. And I'm on the PS3 where Madden has traditionally looked pretty crappy. Looks like they finally took the time to sort this version out because it looks fantastic. With this gameplay, graphics and the additions to franchise mode, I don't think there's anyway I won't buy this on the 28th.

Giants 10 (Me) 49ers 7 FOT
Pretty good game I think I should have ran the ball a little more nothing spectacular both qbs threw a pick

Seahawks 3 Redskins 31 (Me)
Wow RG3 may be overrated I was 24/27, 293 yards, 3 tds, 1 int, 12 carries for 71 yards 1 td
RG3 is good but that defense is wicked and the receiving group is deep and fast Washington will be a top 5 Madden team no doubt

Both games All Madden custom sliders

Did I mention this game has badass graphics?!? Yeah I'm always hyped for Madden but not like this

Ok I've been playing Madden since the first one on Sega Genesis. And there has been only 2 that I didn't get. One was 98 when I got Game Day 98, which I thought was better that year and the first 360 version of the game. I'm finaly tired of getting ripped off and I think this is another year of us getting ripped off. I've been playing the demo, and come on really? Its the same game the physics engine is doing nothing for me. For example I ran the ball with 49ers back Kendle Hunter and just tossed a DT! They said that wouldnt happen this year. Then running with Brandon Jacobs I flattened a DT just to be stood up by a FS. I dont care what back you have you should not be able to just run threw a big DT like Haloti Ngata or Casey Hampton. Suction blocking seems to be back. Everyone seems to be on the ground all the time. Guys are tripping and falling all over the place. Guys bound off guys that are not even moving fast! It dosent seem like anyone wraps up on tackles. Everyone is on ice skates. It seem like they put one good thing in just to take out the few good things from the previous year. Game play should top everything In my opiniun and they seem to be more focused on presentation. I even think ncaa took a step back in game play this year. But the game looks great visually and passing is better. Thats just not enough for me. When will EA give us that game that make us say DAMN! and you can't even say any other year of the game or any other company came close. I know it's just a demo so I will get it from game fly to see if it's any better. This is just my opinion.

Has anyone been able to make a throw like Eli did in the Super Bowl? Or make any back shoulder passes?

The ice skating kinda goes away of you set the game speed to "slow" or "very slow".

I'm not feeling players reacting like "crash test dummies" when being tackled. And the foot planting needs a lot of work.

I have to say I am baffled by the people who dislike the Infinity engine. I started playing Madden with the first Genesis version, 91 I believe. So I have been waiting for this kind of player interaction in Madden for over twenty years now. No it isn't perfect, but it is sooo much better than canned animations repeated over and over during the course of the game. My guess is the people that are ripping it apart are probably younger guys for the most part. Remember this is just the first step towards a more realistic game. Seeing things like a neck and torso bend forward as the pile pushes against them, or tripping on a leg as they run through the hole and stumbling to regain their footing is a thing of beauty to my eyes. I do understand the tripping/flopping post play can be jarring sometimes, but the alternative doesn't come close to outweighing that small negative. Just my opinion of course, but I absolutely love the IE. Now, if we can just get the OL/DL interaction cleaned up.

It all comes down to 2 things, #1 the players models and #2 player movement. The players don't have realistic body types and as a result it takes away for an authentic look. And the way the players move, running animations, tackles, blocking, etc. is just so unnatural looking. If they could get realistic player movement then it makes the blocking look better, opens up holes, make the infinity engine actually work, gives you beautiful catches because they look realistic.

Look at the way The Show and NBA 2k get down realistic player models and authentic player movement. When an outfielder makes a catch on the run he runs an extra 5 steps to slow down, he doesn't just stop unless he hits the wall. Until they fix the look of the players and the way they move (which most likely won't be till the next wave of systems), the game will never have that authentic look that games like MLB the Show and NBA 2k are able to achieve.
This. My first experience was on Normal speed and I thought the game was absolutely awful. Went back and tried again on slow and very slow and it was better but the things brought up in this post still bothered me as well. I just can't get into this game.

Great game love the animations although they same a little glitchy.. kickoffs are easier as stated by someone.. LOTS OF BROKEN TACKLES? i think thats a concern.. graphics are great even though coaches look like hunchbacks with no necks...

As someone who just came back from GamesCom and had hands on NBA 2k... lol.... man... 2k will probably find itself closer to the top -- ahead of Madden #IJS

And I liked the Madden demo -- pretty much what I expected gameplay wise -- wasn't wow'd or anything and it still left we with the desire for more improvements. OSV here I come - yay!

It's just painful for me to see what they they did with backbreaker a few years ago and EA brings us this. I just think they could do better then this. I'm not a fan of backbreaker as a whole game but the physics part of the game they got right. it wasnt perfect but in my opinion it did make me say wow and I hoped EA would take a note from that and take it to another levle by now.

Played 2 games so far.

Annoyed with the controls of audibles and route changes (vs ncaa)
Speedsetting is to fast.
Isn't fun and the accelarated clock is ridiculous.
Why is EA forcing down gameflow again with default setting set to gameflow?

Inifinity engine.. blah. Didn;t really noticed much improvement except you can feel that players are just bouncing around forced into positions or tackles in specific ways. Feels really goofy and looks goofy in some situations too.

I called a fair catch.. the announcer says "a fair catch is called" ... I catch the ball.. and get tackled... NO FLAG.. NO MENTION about it. No commentary about it.. A complete ILLEGAL TACKLE... with NO FLAG????

Defense is still stiff trying to jump for INTs is impossible (vs nfl 2k freedom of movement)

The stat popups are annoying. Is it really difficult to give players the option for statpop ups? on/off/frequent/infrequent ?? Seriously stupid and annoying.

I miss colinsworth replay analysis of big plays. That was a cool feature. But again it was another 1 year feature that was taking away.

Before playing the demo I was going to sell ncaa, and buy madden...
After playing the demo I am pretty much set to not buy madden at all and keep playing ncaa.

With no other competing nfl games (because of monopoly) we will continue to receive lackluster yearly updates to madden until the end of time.

5/10 rating.

You know its crazy how much bitching and moaning (I swore girls did that) their is for a bunch of grown men dude its a game if u don't like it don't play it year after year you complain and criticize the game and people who do like it. Look I understand this is a impressions thread but none of you complaining can make a game like Madden and sure IE isn't perfect but its new you guys act like this system has been around for years its crazy they bring out new good ideas with great potential and they always produce a good game that always sells for obvious reasons and you guys never give them credit cut them some slack jeez. If EA did everything you said was wrong and kept the game the same for next year with updated rosters yall would still complain. I mean its obvious you guys are all doing this for attention your all saying the same thing. Yes we all know IE isn't perfect all the ppl who like this say that but they give credit for idea and what about the pass trajectory is that not a nice feature? I just think you people need to appreciate this a little more EA doesn't have to make this game every year that you can lie and say you don't play but we know you do if you didn't why is it that every year I see oh I havent touched Madden since 08 yet I've seen that same person on this thread and the same thread for 12 and 11

That is not towards any specific gamer just overall towards the negative people who just can't find anything good about Madden or any other game

Sorry but the continuous attempt to kill others enjoyment is simply not going to work on some people, let alone me. There's plenty of others around you can be miserable with.

My only complaint is the speed of the game, which i know can be changed, but I'll be playing online ranked matches. Also the passing isn't very good. NCAA had better passing in my opinion. And lastly, the DB's and LB's can still pick off anything and if they are remotely close to the ball their reaction is off the charts and they will make a play. And I still can't fit balls into tight, but not too tight windows. You see it all time in real life, especially on dig routes for example. Dig routes have always been useless on Madden because you have to fit it in between defenders or lead the pass away from a defender.

My biggest gripe is honesty the kick meter. I can see me losing games on missed long field goals late because of how laggy and unresponsive it is.
