Those one handed catches look stupid

What was up with that gronk spike? Lol

No real issues with the list. Compare it to ESPN's Scout's Inc ratings and the only guy missing from the list is Greg Jennings, who had his place taken by Vernon Davis who is obviously being overrated based on his playoff performance.

I believe Julio Jones will become top five WR this season, but his first season didn't quite make him top ten. He has to stay on the field to reach his potential not to mention he had a case of the drops at times.

And most of those were added this year. Some of them just look weird. Tiburon just has a problem this year capturing animations. And what's up with the players sinking through the ground on some catches? SMH. Also seems weird to rank TE's with WR's.

Fitz

This system is very difficult to understand, when you are comparing apples to oranges?
A blocking & possession tight end compared to a breakaway wide receiver, how do they compare?

I liked the video, they had some sick catches. And the route running looked fluid, I hope they just don't over power use catching.

I hope the defense has just as many animations to break up a pass as the receiver has to catch the ball.

Is it just me or is wes welker still underrated. I mean really 95 he should be a 97 if gronk is a 98. Plus he also had a great season. He always gets ripped off in this game on his overall rating.

That bobble catch was really cool to see though.

TE's and WR's have different a formula for ratings.
TE's get their ratings inflated by their blocking stats. Gronk is that high because he blocks really well for a TE.
I'm sure his Route Running and Catching are a lot less than Welkers.

Some of those catch animations were real nice, not to crazy about that one handed diving catch. I could imagine how nice the game would look with better running animations. They run pretty decent looking routes, but we get not good looking running animations???

I love Julio as much as the next guy, but it's amazing how much people are hyping him up. And equally amazing how much people have downplayed Roddy White already this season. I mean, seriously, despite all of White's drops last year, he still had double the receptions that Julio had. The last 5 years, the fewest receptions he's had is 83. Fewest yards, 1,153. Fewest TDs, 6. He's been a beast for 5 straight years and people think because Julio put up a good rookie season that still came nowhere near Roddy last year, they think he's going to jump Roddy and be a top 10 WR this year? I just don't see it.

My guess is that Larry Fitz and Brandon Marshall will be on this list by the end of the year. Same with AJ Green.

Doesn't mean he deserves to be in the 90's. You're obviously biased because you're a falcons fan...

Seriously, Derius Heyward-Bey put up better numbers than Julio Jones last year and people want him to be top 10?

Julio ranked 25th in receiving yards last year, tied for 52nd in receptions, and tied for 11th in TDs. Even looking at YPG (since people have pointed out he would have hit 1000 yards if he hadn't been hurt); he ranks 15th.

Cruz > Nicks. By a mile.

this is why I'm not even sure if I care about ratings. Megatron is a beast but there is no way that anyone catching the ball in the NFL not named Fitz should be number 2.

By the way the ratings do seem very high for receivers....finally no AJ Green?

Personally, I still think Nicks is the better receiver.

My thoughts exactly. Is it just me or do the player models looks atrocious in this video. The Fitz part looks extremely horrible. His running motion just looks completely wrong, and when he gets tackled you can clearly see one of those infinity engine glitches that are going to pop up constantly it seems. He completely changes directions when the defender flips him. The defender flipped him like he weighs 8 ounces...

Nicks is much better then Cruz, Julio Jones doesn't deserve to be a top 10 WR. I only took issue when someone commented saying hes done nothing. He had a great rookie yr an he missed a couple of games.

# 40 StreetCarp @ 08/13/12 02:00 PM
Cruz > Nicks.
