Well, at least 2k is pretty much letting you know this is a marketing tool right now -- maybe it'll grow into something more.

I'm just happy that they are going a step further with their community involvement. LD2k and Ronnie2k already are very active -- reaching out and actually bringing people in the studios hopefully to push forward more ideas can only be a plus.

I wouldn't consider it hating. I like the ideal of getting the community involved, but it's not like 2K is asking for suggestion, or taking ideals from these guys...just showing stuff early.

If they only have these popular figures going, then it's just some marketing plot. I mean what about fans that aren't as vocal as smoove or visual as shady?? I tweet Ronnie and Beluba everyday about issues with NBA2K, but I know the unpopular won't get invited. I tweeted my brains out yesterday just trying to get an invite, don't see it happening though.

I, too, am curious to see if this will mean anything.

Will the guys they have play the game come back with an honest interpretation of the game? How would 2k respond if someone like smoove comes back talking about how unimpressed he is with the game? How deep are they in development where they can make any real changes to the game? Is 2K even open to ideas at this stage of development?

Ronnie isn't involved with the game development, you should tweet mike wang or eric or rob if they have a twitter but mike is barely on. But I think Apexisfree
would be a great person for this, he's one of the original people that showed 2k's and maddens flaws type of videos. But he stopped for some reason. I think 2k will pick some no name people, but I think more "famous" will go and hype the game up. How many subs do chris and shady have combined?

2k must really be confident that 2k13 is a HUGE step ahead of 2k12 despite their unfounded drive for the game being what they perceived us to desire: "more of the same".

2K has proven year after year that they listen to the community. Why start doubting them now?

Sent from my phone.

I'm just curious as to whether or not its too late for any significant changes...

I'm also curious as to whether or not this will benefit the rest of the community. Last year, Czar raved about how "fastbreaks are BACK!", but then we got a fastbreak system that was only marginally improved. This is not me doubting Czars integrity but rather me wondering if this means anything..

Im hoping some of the roster makers get rewarded for their efforts. Yellz, hokuguy,PB, mkharsh33, paul pirece, vctrb,Hyperballer are some off the top of my head. It would benefit the community greatly to have a roster guru gets a sneak peak. With all the hours they sacrifice with hex editing and custom music......it's only right.

I like that 2K is upfront about why they picked media-savy members of the community. Not like when EA had a contest this year about why your a big enough fan to go to Live community day and then they just picked the old EA forum heads that have gone before and essentially lied to the fans..

# 55 SHAKYR @ 07/28/12 02:57 PM
As someone who went to events like this most of the people who want to go are people who just want to see the game first and care less about the rest of the community. This is what happens when some members go...
1. They act like they are star struck and say nothing but smile and agree about everything.
2. They say nothing.
3. They don't constructive critism or feedback at all.
4. The don't think about the community as a whole.
5.They take the trip as a trip only.

When EA invited me to a community event, I was one of the most outspoken about things the community and I wanted. I knew the community and me wanted realism and the sport represented accurately.

Okay, but to be honest I don't think he meant it that way, as in they are just going to give us the same thing, because 2k history proves other wise. I think he meant it as we want the same great gameplay. Idk I honestly don't believe he meant it, the way it came out.

Wow, that's ridicules. You get a great opportunity to voice your opinion and they just waste it. I wanted to go, but as it's shown this will most likey be a promotional ploy, and I'm not internet famous lol. But I think they are going to send guys that we all trust and hype the game up.The only person I know for a fact, that will give their honest opinion is JerzeyReign

I feel like Hardcore NBA fans should be involved as well, not just for presentation purposes or to add on to the mega stars of the Game. But for every single player and roster. I don't know how many quick matches I have played or how many hours of My Player I played since the midnight release of 2K12 but I wish I could go in there and just play 5-10 games of myplayer and just show them what they should be seeing. Some of the flaws can't be unnoticed and playing 2k since 2k9(religiously) I have been watching every major televised NBA game, preseason reg season and post. I don't really hate any players or teams. Maybe its being unbiased or just loving the sport and league so much.

It really is all the little stuff that could be tweaked. I think I would be in awe meeting the people that make the game I love and take so serious(kind of like a Job or wishing I was my MyPlayer(lol don't we all?) but if someone that plays the game as much as me and can nitpick without being hesitant and just being a critic that is honest we could make 2k13 the one NBA game that doesn't need patching. I know more players then the average fan and its from playing random teams on 2k, I eat up NBA Doc's,shows, and movies. Read all NBA books and just can't get enough of 2k12 even when it makes me wanna throw my tv out the window.

Still, it's the only sports game that keeps me coming back for more(even if Live is coming back, YEESH get away.) I know there is a lot of people like me in the sense of "I NEED to get into that studio and tell them what badly needs to be fixed" Or just people that want to make it as real as what we see on TV with the NBA. I want to make the game Organic as much as possible, for different things to happen each game not the same 4 posterizing dunks in a row. Not horrible out of bounds turnover animations forced from an easy pass. Or Kevin Love stealing the ball from Rajon Rondo with 6 seconds in the game.

The game is clean, looks great, feels smooth. Now let's just help 2k connect the dots and make it a game that can raise a championship banner once more.

No offense, but that describes a lot of gamers. What's separating you from everyone else on this forum? We should just be grateful to have members of the forum going to represent for us.

Good point. I didn't hear the "6 weeks before launch" line that someone mentioned, but that would give about 2 weeks before the game is essentially finalized for ESRB, distribution, etc. and another week or two before the actual final copies go to the media.
