As long as they get us OPERATION SPORTS guys on there I'm cool. I'm not talking about the guys who say they rep us and then head to their own little worlds -- I'm talking about the guys who are in here daily (at least multiple times per week).

Heaven knows if you want an honest opinion about a sports video game you come to OS first!

I think the new community team up will be the new way games will be marketed going forward. You have a guy like Smoove who has close to 500,000 subscribers, if he promotes your game and says you fixed issues in your game (speed, gameplay) then that holds some weight in terms of dollars $$. That is instant marketing to the masses to get people to buy your game who were on the fence about 2K13. So instead of just having people at 2K do the promoting (LD2K and Ronnie2K) and whatever commercials they have planned they are having people who represent us the "2K Community" do the promoting. Social media is the standard now and this is a smart business move. I want to hear who else from a gameplay side they choose.

Who is to say he's not? We'll be announcing the roster in the upcoming days.

Thats what i mean, I'm not too familiar with chris or shady as sim players. But I'm not going to hate on anyone that makes it, because you never know who 2k will pick. *shamefully raises hand*

This. Da Czar had already input for 2k12 and I remember him pushing for things that didn't make the cut in game. I still remember him trying to get the 93' suns for the Bulls challenge by suggesting Tom Chambers as a legend.

If I'm selected can I have my miniature dachshund go in my place?

Here comes the 2K hype machine. They're advertising to the "celebrities" of the community so they in turn can advertise to us common folk. Nowhere did I see any mention of them taking feedback.

If Smoove is going to go there to see gameplay, he's going to comeback with an honest opinion, it's just the type of guy Smoove is.

I seriously doubt they're going to force Smoove to only talk good about the game.

Props to Shady.... he really does a lot in making 2Ks hoops titles shine. Really phenomenal work by him. It would be fitting if he was able to lend his expertise in doing one of the 2K13 vids that drop commercially for all to see....

Wait, so one of the 'perks' is for those guys to see the game early -- 6 weeks in advance. That would put the preview in mid-August. In mid-August I'll be going to GamesCom here in Germany sooooo technically I'm an unofficial member of the 2k program.

Don't steal my thunder and don't worry about the gif -- I got this one :P

Spoiler

Maybe because the feedback is already taken care of by people from the 2K crew at communities like here at OS. I mean, the guys many times use the feedback from even 2 years earlier (given that is good feedback).

I don't get all of this stuff. Why not just post the news for everyone in the old fashioned way ? I don't see this necessary

It's called getting honest opinions from our fellow community members. Why are some people hating on respected community members? I rather them go than a casual fan who doesn't care if the game plays like NBA JAM or a realistic basketball game.

This is definately a marketing tool, but the best thing about getting community members in there looking at the game is the feedback they give the developers.

This community feedback can make a possibly serious issue with gameplay be nipped now instead of trying and failing to patch it out later.
