Only got to play the demo about four times at a mates place but I really like what I saw especially with me playing as England and Italy a few times. Did anyone get a chance to mess around with the tactics? Example would be to see if you were able to make the defence play further back or further up.

Yes you can. But you can only do it with certain formations. As an example, if it set to posession it will only allow you to set the Defensive line so far. If you switch it to standard then you can change it. I did it once to try and deal with the CPU through balls so I changed it to have the defensive line play deep. I honestly don't recall the results but I think it helped will do it agian and see

Yeats my man you completley changed the game for me

I took your advice and started out on Amateur using Vertical cam with full manual passing and shooting and WOW is all I can say I am now up to my desired level of Professional with full manual controls still using Vertical cam. The vertical cam really helps with manual passing. I will post 2 goals later on that were on full manual and I promise they won't be as awful as my other video

I said I was going to try the Fifa demo but honestly after doing this last night I am not so sure anymore. Alot will depend on demo 2 but so far it feels like they finally got it right.

EDIT - One other thing I would like to add is that with manual passing you really see the difference in players IMO.

No long intro like last year was the first thing that stood out to me.

Very happy about that

Cool, and you're a difficulty level bolder than me... If you have the PC version, there's a cam mod available that allows you to adjust the distance. I pulled the vertical cam back and can now see a lot more of the pitch. Similar to FIFA's zoomed pro cam and perfect for me.

A little demo gameplay compilation:

Great stuff aloncho, wow. That's exactly the way I play PES as well... in my dreams.

Really enjoyed the demo. Some nice ideas this year. The broadcast cam is literally that, switching to a close-up camera on wing play. Some may find it difficult to readjust but it's certainly an attempt to do something different with the game. Gameplay is very fluid although some of the animations are still jerky. Definitely worth a look at release but it will be tough to out do FIFA.

As promised some better videos of 2 goals I scored with All Manual Controls

This is on Amateur:

Can't get the other one posted. Will post it later.

I agree. From a pure gameplay standpoint it's not even close

I'm really struggling with manual shooting. May need someone whose having success to give a brief walk through

Yellow cards and ticky tack fouls are so well done

I have seen some nice yellow cards for both me and the cpu team, much better than last year

But, what I loved even more was the amount of ticky tac fouls called. I was England against Germany and it got chippy. Lots of these small fouls causing lots of stoppages. Very nice

Sounds like PES 5 which had a lot of fouls in it some people disliked the amount of fouls in that version but I loved it. But I honestly didn't notice a lot of fouls in the demo but I noticed the CPU actually committing little fouls here and there. I have to play again as I didn't play much matches.

Another thing: Lahm, Germany's left back, came flying down te left side numerous times, with and without the ball.

Since this is a PES forum I feel ok in saying that I have friends who have FIFA and they love their FIFA but they all say they do not see this type of gameplay.

I can't speak for the upcoming FIFA title but I really need to see the better side backs flying down the wings like this.

That brings me to another question: I've yet to see any shots from distance from the opposition although I'm not sure Germany really plays that way. Plus, I've only played 4 short games.

I would love to have had the Netherlands to play against. That would have surely revealed whether the better midfielders will shoot from distance.

The fouls were tame in my first 2 games (Portugal me v. Italy) and (Italy me, v England)

It was my third game (England me v Germany cpu) where there were 3 yellow cards (one mine) and tons of stoppages for niggling fouls. Of course, when I say tons, I simply mean more than last year. Maybe 6 or 7, which is a lot for such a short time frame.

I love games with lots of stoppages because thats very realistic.

Do what Yeats said:

Change the camera to Vertical Wide and until you get used to it use the L2 Modifier so you can see where your shooting. I still have some terrible shots but I am getting better

I had one last night that I couldn't help but laugh it. I went to hit a shot first time and ended up out of bounds for a throw in

Yeah Germany are not the type of team to take long shots like Portugal or Netherlands, Schweinsteiger may have a crack but they like to cross and work it into the box and mix it up. So maybe try another team, I only played a few short games as well but when I played against Portugal Nani took one long shot that went wide.

If I recall correctly when I played against Portugal they had a couple shots from distance. It doesn't help that the game is only 5 minutes either.
