Can we please ban the use of this "Color me ______" phrase?

As far as the demo, they all echo my opinions. It's a slight upgrade, but still pretty far off from great. The updates were skipped thru after the first game, but I loved the open feel of the passing game.

I was complaining about the frequency of the studio updates, but EA tweeted today that was due to playing 3 min quarters and that they'd be less frequent with longer quarters.

"Seen some comments on the frequency of Studio Updates. It's because you're playing 3 min quarters. It'll be less frequent in the full game."

Since this strategy is no longer valid, can anyone help me how to read defenses? I am sure that there are lots of gamers who never used motion in the first place who thrive in the passing game and any help and tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Damn, bruh. That's on ur own abilities. I have no probs passing, even in this demo. I remember last yr how, at least wit Madden, ppl said the same thing with passing and even then, I said the same thing - It's up to ur own personal abilities.

Ur never gunna be perfect. I throw multiple INTs, at times (usually based on my own attentiveness to the fame, at that moment. Heh) but I've always had a strong , natural sense of anticipation and trajectory and all dat yet it still took practice getting better wit passing. Keep working on it, bud. Use practice mode in the retail version, copiously

also field experience is not everthing. some people just have a gift of seeing things. manning sees the field like no one else but it isnt all film room and field experience. otherwise every 6'4" qb with a decent arm could be just as good as he is just putting in the time. same for guys like barry sanders and ray lewis.
Because I have gone through plenty of Dynasties with Garbage teams (UAB) built them into powerhouses and have easily thrown for 300 to 400 yards on heisman difficulty. If you know your offense and can look at the player movement and positioning on any given defensive play you will know who's going to be open where or if you need to hot route certain players to get them open. That's why pass trajectories don't mean much. I can figure out plenty of different route combinations to confuse the defensive personel. I also know my players and what they can and can't do.

And to your last statement I don't really understand what your saying because all of those guys have large amounts of field experience and players like Ray and either of the Mannings put in tons of time in the film room even before they become veteran players in the league. Guys like those have played football since pee-wee and excelled because they are able to adapt to certain systems thats the way their skill sets are. Check every single Head Coach and Coordinators background they, they didn't just jump up one morning and put in an application to be a coach they have worked under people and learned from someone else. That also counts for field experience.

If your on PSN and want to play send me a request on day 1 or whenever PSN: YungKoolAntone.

I bet the studio updates will be more spaced out with longer quarters.

Also, they will be more interesting in an actually dynasty when we actually care about the games.

i didnt see anything wrong with this demo maybe because im easily pleased and i believe EA has made a BIG improvement from last year's game... like i said before this is the best thing on my xbox right now and its just a demo

Well Madden just dropped the ultimate bomb of no player editing at all so scripted studio updates or not I'm all in for NCAA this year

# 28 Bumble14 @ 06/11/12 06:36 PM
All-

As was confirmed multiple times last week--the frequency of the Studio Updates is based on the quarter length of the demo. You will see them less frequent in 5+ minute quarters.

Thanks.

Bumble14 is there any chance we could get a look at those 8 new HS stadiums? would love to check them out. if not no big deal just wondering. I think the game looks great by the way.

Thanks for mentioning this. I posted the tweet about this that the NCAA Football account sent out earlier today a page ago on this very thread, but apparently not many people read every post.

Well, perhaps they are just trying to phase out us DLP owners.

I think the biggest factor in determining who likes the demo and who doesn't completely depends on how each individual plays the game. Insert insult about how "so and so" knows nothing about REAL football and "you know who" is a cheeser. To each his own man. I'm guessing the game updates are planned for cetain moments of the game (after a kick off, just before the quarter ends, after a turnover, ect....) The dudes that play 3 minute quarters and hurry up all game will more than likely get bombed with way more updates than seems reasonable than the guy (like me) that plays slow and anywhere from 8-10 minute quarters. I'm no master nor do I care to be but I've played some of the guys online that run their 5 money plays over and over and I've beat some and lost to some. I think those same guys ultimate goal is to find ways to exploit every little flaw with the AI and then diss the game devs for making it unrealistic. If your goal is to find flaws you will certainly be able to (with any game). The improvements to pass trajectory will make the way I like to play 100 times better. I also loved that the pressure was coming from blitzers or DE's not just DT's. I loved that playaction works like it's suppose to. Sometimes in REAL life the QB fakes the handoff and then gets plastered but not every time. I loved the bubble screens, WR screens, Read option. And I don't have any idea how people complain about the OL/DL interactions? I thought they have been pretty good for the last couple NCAA's but I'm sure that's because I know nothing about REAL football. I've chewed my guys out for missing a block but what's not real about a big, dumb O lineman blocking the wrong guy on occasion? It seems like some guys get mad because a cetain thing doesn't ALWAYS work on the game. What in football ALWAYS goes just like the coach drew it up? I will be buying this and I'm not dumb enough to think the devs read these posts (especially with all the negativity) but if for some reason they happen to see this PLEASE don't make a patch for the minority just because they cry louder than the majority!! If there is a problem sure but please don't bring back psychic DB's because a few guys can throw curls too easy on default varsity level.

I almost feel like I'm playing a different demo than these guys in regards to presentation. I'm getting one, MAYBE two studio updates per quarter, and they're always very simple and to the point, no crazy, overly cheesy and repeated lines. Hell, I just played a game before working out and I got four studio updates TOTAL.

Im sure thus wont be in the final build, but i noticed an annoying bug.

System: ps3
On defense, while playing man, if you coverage audible to base align, all 11 players on defense will run commit. Hope they noticed this, other than that, i think the demo is very promising reflection of the final product

Hold on fellas!

One guy hates, one guy likes it, one guy is 50-50 on it? Way to commit to an impression. I love the site and the writing, but this split decision is as good ( and credible) as Pacqiou-Bradley.

Why would three different people, in an opinionated roundtable, all be expected to have a unified decision about how they feel about the demo? Do you even know what a roundtable is? These are three people's impressions, of course they're going to vary

I want t see the Broadcast camera added to this game. I just do not see why this can't be done. The last time that camera angle was in the game ,was back in Ncaa 06....... the last year I truly enjoyed this game.

# 38 vln13 @ 06/12/12 01:45 AM
Playing the game did give me a sense of content with some of the subtle improvements, but who is seriously going to continue playing once Madden ships? Madden is supposed to have the improvements to passing and play action as well as their more revolutionary steps this year.

Everything you need right here, mate: http://smartfootball.com/passing/att...e-passing-game

In terms of recognizing and attacking video game coverages, you're looking for two things: pre-snap safety alignment (and their post snap rotation) and underneath defender leverage.

What I mean by leverage is: say you're in trips. If lined up in zone, the underneath, inside zone defenders will not split out and line head up over the inside WRs. They will apex and split the difference from the inside WR and the end man on the LOS.

Football history note: your problem is one of the same things that pretty much killed the original iteration of the Run and Shoot.

I played the demo for about 2 games last night, and it's really nothing to write home about. Didn't have the features list in front of me, but I really couldn't tell much difference in anything other than the playaction and passing trajectories. I also hated the way the camera changes angles when you actually throw the ball. Definitely a non-purchase for me but maybe Madden will be better. It's like the NBA 2k series; the game is good and they make subtle improvements every year, but eventually it just becomes too familiar and you want something fresh and new, possibly even (dare I say) innovative. I was somewhat bored after my first series on offense honestly, and defense has just never been fun to me in these games.
