as excited as i'd like to get about all this, the fact remains (to me at least) that as long as the gameplay is rooted in animations, there will be very little difference between a 90 trucking rating and a 40 rating. every year, i forget that the numbers they throw up on the screen are mostly arbitrary and have little to do with the way the game plays. a lb with a 85 tackle rating has the same animations at his disposal as a lb with a 50 rating.
this looks really interesting. being a guy who spends all of his time in Dynasty this makes it all the better for me and adds a layer that i like because i love recruiting.
Super stoked for this! Dynasty needed a little something and I think this is the start of it! Excited to start an OD. If anyone is interested hit me up! PS3 all day!
Heres what I dont understand , If I am scouting a defensive tackle , I dont care what his throw power is , I dont care what his run blocking ability is , I want to know how he is tackling or blockshedding , etc etc
From what I seen so far, the only position that shows all the ratings is ATH. I think for the other positions is position specific

It's possible that if Madden announces real time physics that NCAA could get it as well.
I also like that that expanded the recruit search engine by adding Stars. I think it will speed up recruiting.
When I play as a 1-2 star school, I dont look at 4-5 star players. It is a waste of a time, Unless I wanted a game changer. It took a long time to filter through the players to find the smaller ranked players. With the star filter, I will be able to find the 1-3 star players faster.

I like the direction this is going, but I have a problem with 60 minutes of scouting a QB and it doesn't tell you anything about their arm at all.
I agree. Much like in real life, if someone is going after a QB, they are probably focused on awareness, arm strength and accuary, not so much max bench press.

The hit power rating is what changes the way/animations a player tackles. The tackle rating just increases/decreases the chance of a successful tackle.
I believe it was Gotmadskillzson who brought it up about if you lower all the players hit power, the game plays more smoothly and has much more realistic tackle animations instead of every player leaving their feet trying to impale the ball carrier. Again, more of a reason for a global editor.

Sometimes I think the people at OS know how EAs ratings work more than EA does.
IF the ratings actually had some impact on the gameplay, this feature would be outstanding. But since we all know that a 89 rated receiver is really no different than a 79 rated receiver, this is just adding more time in the arduous task of recruiting.
Strangely looking forward to having my first 5 star bust after neglecting to scout him. Can't wait for it.
Agree completely. IMO, this is the best part of what they are adding. I'm sure it will have a few bugs that a patch will need to iron out but this adds a whole new level to the recruiting and dynasty longevity.
I'd prefer it if some of the ratings were in ranges and as you scout, the range narrows down and you get closer to the actual rating. Clearly measurable ratings such as 40 time should be static where as ratings like awareness should take more time to scout.

I could be wrong but thats what it looks like for the overall.
Overall is the only thing that changes, things that are knowledge based should vary somewhat widely early in the recruiting process. Unless a high school quarterback is picking apart a defense like Peyton Manning while calling his own audibles like Peyton, you can't get a measure of intelligence in one little scouting session..
Physical attributes are more material and easily measurable, and should be easier to find / narrower ranges.
Overall if they included gems and busts, than I'm happy. I'm also excited to see a 5* T, last year had a major lack of non-QB/WR/HB/CB/ATH 5* talent. (Overalls were decent, but it killed immersion somewhat)
