The graphical upgrade is fairly significant. First time in years!

-Really like the new skating, it looks so much better than the last few years. I'm excited to play with some guys who can really fly.

-AI looked smarter in the short clips, hopefully that means we'll actually be able/forced to use dump-and-chase hockey.

-Goaltenders looked a lot better, especially that diving save (that looked just fantastic).

-GM connected looked really cool, like the CO-OP aspect of it even in the single-player GM mode.

Very interested in this creating your own AI feature.

Wish someone had asked if they loosened the play up any by lowering pass %. Unless i missed it?

Good point, the fact that bobbling passes completely disappeared in '12 was a major bummer.

Some other notes:

-- No faceoff kick-outs. They don't want to slow the game down.

-- Being able to hit your own teammate and having unintentional contact without pressing the check button is something they are working on. However, they don't want every player to be "live" on the ice and fair game to be contacted because it makes the game too chaotic.

How ridiculous can you be?It's part of the game. So much for their slogan!

Some good stuff, especially the momentum on turns. They mentioned less control of shots & passes at top speed; I really hope that includes puck control as well. It should be fairly easy to lose the puck in the one-handed acceleration stride.

Along those lines, I wonder if the physics-based skating will improve the collision physics? More bumps, loss of balance and momentum, etc.

I think more people would be annoyed by them than would appreciate them.

I`m not very excited about what I saw of the goalies though.

There was a few good things about the goalies,.. better? AI ,more (AI only?) save animations,...

I saw some of the same old garbage......the 1950`s upright post hug was being used like it was 1950,...not 2012,where nobody uses it.
Every time the goalie went to the post hug,it was this move.
Why aren`t the modern ones in the game given the highest priority over this sad exploit riddled stance?

The same with the VH looking like the same unrealistic movements,...going from post to post and switching legs......something you can`t even do in the real world, especially at the speed they let you do it in the game.
Plus, they leave the post too early from this stance, which I explain an instance below.

I didn`t see the paddle down being used by the goalie in the actual practice ice footage.(...as is what I`m using to base the other comments on too.)
The Stamkos part of cutting to the net,....he cuts to the net,and is in tight to the right post,...and the goalie not only doesn`t poke check, which would have ended it right there,(paddle down poke check to be specific.)....but not only didn`t he poke check,....he left the post too early.
Stamkos isn`t even at the net ,he`s almost halfway to the corner and the goalie should NOT be leaving the post that early.

It would prevent people from spamming draws out of the upright stance with no grip.

Right now that's a major exploit in faceoffs.

agreed. at the very least have it involved in the offline modes and turned off in the online side of things!!

same goes for incidental player contact, he said it can be done, but makes the game sloppy. um hello, hockey is a sloppy game a lot of the times. again, have this for offline guys and off for online until you tune it correct. siiiiiigh!!

i really liked hearing about the online gm mode. being able to have 6 guys on the same team OTP style throughout the season will be awesome. i wonder if we can use our be a pro players, or just have all 6 on ice using that teams roster etc?

the skating seemed like this years skating when he was using the LT button.. or was that just me? looked way to responsive, making sharp cuts. when he wasnt using it the skating looked much improved. anybody else notice that?

Well if they want an "authentic" hockey game, they are gonna have to learn how to not always cater to the children with ADD.

if they want to really speed things up, they could get rid of all replays that are not goals in online modes. also get rid of the 30 second intermissions.

then they could add getting kicked out of faceoffs!! by removing the above and adding this it would even out time wise.

one way of saying sorry that they cheated and stole our $60 for a piece of crap??? LOL.

im happy with what im hearing. but then again, i will be cautious this year's version. knowing EA.... i'll wait for the released product and rent it. if i like it and its really worth my $60+ dollars, sure i'll buy it.

my cousin who used to work at EA always give me EA products at employee price..C$ 20.00. until he was pirate out by another company and moved out from BC. sigh!!!

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but did anyone notice the new camera inside the net? Awesome detail.

Unfortunately that's a majority of their market.

I believe the exact quote was, "We spent more time working on AI this year than we did in the three previous years combined."

Bingo.

If they want to speed up the online experience, all they have to do is take out those annoying cut-scenes that pop up after every single stoppage in play.

Also, they should completely disable pausing during online games. Imagine if in a game like Call of Duty or Halo, the entire session came to a halt and just stopped for everyone because one guy hits pause; there would be riots online!
