You know what helps me with my frustration? I remember how video game development works and that there's an art team for things just like that and there's a gameplay team. So there's no loudest voice to influence 2K as if they hear people asking about art changes, turn them loose on that and then tell the gameplay, audio etc. guys they're good for the year cause the community only cares about shoes.
It does get a bit frustrating when the loudest voices in the community are always going on and on about accessories...it gives 2k the vibe that that's what the majority of the fanbase cares about.
No it doesn't. 2K's employees are more intelligent than that.
The announcement will have nothing to do with shoes, but geez I wish people would realize that improving/adding on shoes and legends does not affect nor take away from gameplay--there are separate people in separate departments for this. You don't have to, but look at the credits in a video game and you'll understand.
If a director wants to improve on the cinematography of a movie sequel, it doesn't affect the casting of the movie because the cinematographer doesn't work on the casting--it's quite a simple concept. That's why many schools across America focus on English Language Arts without taking away from Math--your Calculus teacher shouldn't be teaching your English Lit class.
I'm intrigued by their possible announcement for 2K13. A lot of people were disappointed in 2K12, while I personally enjoyed the game and hope they make plenty of improvements ( passing, interior scoring, rebounding, etc. ). Live being back and this being their only yearly title also brings added pressure and they can't afford to drop the ball.
Off-topic: Sucks to think that MLB, NHL & NFL 2K have all gone the way of the Dodo bird. Sports gaming is shrinking more and more as a genre.
Don't tell me it's going to be another 'legends' type of mode. I'm really getting sick of it. I hope it has something to do with online and what they're going to do there because everyone knows 2K servers is always garbage.
They're going to introduce a "brand new" Crew Mode but it will be a paid DLC. Then we find out that all along it was on the disk already and they just sold us what we already bought
Hopefully they changed the passing to make it more sensible and not so mercurial. You never know how the pass is going to be thrown, nor do you know where it's going. Trying to convert a simple 3-2, 2-1 fastbreak is a nightmare in this game.
If the announcement is anything other than a new basketball engine with Real Time Physics then its not a major announcement. Im done with the gimmicks, legends, and addtional canned animations (which btw have ruined the game). All the world knows that NBA Live will scrap the 2 player animations and canned animations, and the rumors are that Madden is going to a RTP engine so 2K has to step up and scrap this engine. They have gone as far as they could go with it in 2k11 and even that beauty showed the limitations of a animation heavy sports game.
Honestly I hope its about gameplay. Cover athletes/celebrities/kinect controls/whatever don't interest me. Show me that you improved the subtleties of the gameplay and you'll get me excited.

Agree 100%. I'm so tired of people making a big deal out of things like who is on the cover of the game. It's a freaking picture, and makes zero impact on the actual gameplay itself.
Why does it matter what we want on the cover? They signed a deal with Michael Jordan and this is the third year. He only will be on a game if he is on the cover. So, Jordan is on the cover. Quit wasting our time 2K.
