Madden NFL 13 News Post

It looks like Trey Wingo of NFL Live will be featured in Madden NFL 13. In what capacity? Not sure. No details have been released on exactly what he'll be doing. Based off of yesterday's NCAA Football 13 coverage, it could be something similar.

Check his Twitter timeline and you can see a few conversations about it.

He also tweeted a picture from the Madden NFL 13 green room, which you can see here.

If its true that it was supposed to be a bigger secret than Rece in NCAA then we will probably be getting some kind of in game, halftime, post game and weekly report from Trey. They did say that every week in franchise mode will tell a different story.

The reason I said that was because NCAA let us know a while back that there would be a "mystery" analyst in dynasty mode. Madden had said nothing about a studio analyst.

I wish connected careers was connected 2 ncaa 13 .... for draft purposes only since madden doesnt have the espn liscense but if they did we could have a nfl/ncaa ticker .... EPIC

this was soooooo of topic lol

madden 13 MIGHT use trey wingo for mid game updates and draft purposes

It is interesting to me that they are mixing CBS (Nantz and Simms) and CBS graphics package with ESPN's Wingo (NFL Live, NFL Primetime,)

That was me :-) And yeah, you're absolutely right...not sure where my head was at earlier. My brain immediately thought of the old Extra Point show, which was filmed on Green Screen.

Can't wait to see something about this. I know we have audio next week and Gameplay pt 2 June 4th, but have there been any more webcast or blog entries scheduled yet?

There is an audio webcast coming next Monday. It will probably talk about the upgraded crowd noise, new commentators, and maybe this addition of Trey Wingo. They may hold off on Trey until the connected careers blog on June 4th though....

Sweet, I didn't know Connected Careers was coming on the 4th with Gameplay part 2. Thanks for the info.

I really have no clue what connected careers could be. I am just really hoping they add some nice additions to franchise mode and port all the functionality over to an on-line franchise mode as well....

It would be awesome if this was for in game updates, etc like NCAA 13 is doing. Also hope it is tied to dynasty in moving from week to week, with information and stories from the happenings around your dynasty league. The tidbit someone posted above from the Madden website, seems to hint at this.

Maybe a weekly wrapup or some sort of in-game studio updates like NCAA just announced. But not halftime.

Somewhere on one of these impressions here on OS (or maybe even the actual webcast) its already been stated that Madden's halftime is pretty much a stat rundown by Jim Nantz. But no actual Halftime Show.

That's not neccessarily true though because it seems like this capture with Trey Wingo is just now happening. I know for a fact that the guys at Community Day last time were only playing "Play Now" and not the other game modes. It may be something they decided to add when they saw or heard people were disappointed that we weren't getting a true studio halftime show. It also could be something for Franchise Mode only like NFL Live or NFL Primetime, or a halftime show, in game updates and NFL Live/Primetime is what I'm dreaming of.

As long as we're getting some sort of studio show every week to keep us updated and immersed in our Franchise, it doesn't matter to me if it's a studio halftime show or if it's just a new montage with stats analysis and keys to the 2nd half. Mike Young did say they are adding some of the team intros and stuff to the halftime montage, which is a pretty cool way of implementing the team intro's and represents what you see on Sunday.

I agree. Halftime would be nice. But whatever they're gonna do with Trey Wingo has me pretty excited.

Very very nice

Hmm... Im kind of keeping my expectations for the commentary an studio updates stuff down..

I really need to see it all flow nicely in a true gameplay vid

Ok so...Isn't it pretty known NCAA and Madden share techs. Is it feasible madden would have a half time show but not NCAA?? I'd much prefer NFL Live/Primetime myself as I'm hoping it would also incorporate Draft talk but just a curiosity question...

A living breathing dynamic franchise mode is what this game needs to keep me playing long term. Couple that with continued gameplay tuning and enhancements and Madden is really trying to make a great PS3/360 game.

Really good signs coming out here. Really good.

Yeah I've had a good feeling about Madden 13 ever since I found out Mike Young was going to be Creative Director and Cam Weber GM of EA Football. A living Franchise Mode was probably the one thing I wanted to see the most as was a quality weekly wrapup studio show.

I agree Armor. If they add the beginnings of a new real time physics engine for tackles like NHL and FIFA have and upgrade franchise while making it online compatible as well Madden will finally be starting to catch up to where it should be.

Assuming those things are in (big IF I know) then next year they can revamp the OL/DL and Locomotion/Footplanting/running animations while continuing to build on a new physics engine then EA could really be on to something.

I think EA needs to really start working on individual player animations for players. The 2k series and MLB The Show do a phenomenal job with making each player look and play like their real life counterpart. EA does not do this with any of their titles unfortunately.

What if connected careers connected the careers of NCAA 13 and Madden 13, I mean NCAA does have a mock draft, would NCAA just make up the draft order based on real life, randomly or could there be something to connect what's going on in Madden with NCAA over the internet.

That would be pretty cool, and the fact that they made the controls the same for both games this year must mean they have been working together at least a little.

Maybe Trey Wingo will give you league and draft updates, idk but i can only assume that connected careers would "Connect" your "Careers"
