Some quick thoughts:

1) That intro video looks awesome!

2) The running animations (especially in the 1st vid) look shaky at best.

3) The play-action animations look smooth.

4) Somehow I feel like the field is looking at bit too much like a pool table.

5) The lighting when they show Lucas Oil is amazing!

Players look like pinballs out there. Unrealistic cuts and turning on a dime. Running animations look horrid.

I'm holding off reservation until June 4th on anything gameplay related like running animations. I saw a recent tweet from Shopmaster where he said the build he played didn't have the "monumental change to gameplay'' in it yet and there are like 15 builds or something out there, so I'm sure these videos don't either. It may not be the running animations, but something big is going down June 4th.

Here's the actual conversation, just so no one thinks I made this up.

AzureEffect ‏ @AzureEffect
@Shopmaster @rgiles36 Is the "monumental" change in this new build?

1 May Shopmaster ‏ @Shopmaster
@AzureEffect @rgiles36 I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure that's another build. There are like 15 builds out there .... lol. #saidtoomuchalready

Presentation looks great. Also liked the fact there were a lot of stealers colors in the bills shot good to see a mix of home and away fans. Can't wait until E3 to see this game in action.

**without having watched the videos**

I'm starting to think running animations are going to be one of those subjective points of contention just like ratings.

My opinion -- I think the running animations have been satisfactory going back to M11. I'm certainly not saying that they can't improve, but I don't think they're a notable flaw to the Madden experience.

Madden 13 looking great going by those videos!!

EA please fix 2 things!

1. Remove all the crazy camera flashes during kick offs from regular season games! Or at the very least tone them way down for regular season games! You should only have the camera flashes going crazy during the Super Bowl kick off! And maybe the playoffs.

2. Fix the running animations and make them more like the last gen (PS2, X Box, PC) running animations!!

The current gen Madden 13 running animations just do not look life like and I can not stand looking at them!

Other then that looking good!

In the clips in the gameplay video, the audio track reveals a sound when the QB throws the ball. Sounds like a grunt combined with the whip sound of the ball.

I heard that and thought it was just to add some spice to the video.

I really don't think... rather, I really hope that "whoosh" sound as the ball leaves the QB's hand isn't really in the game. It would rank right up there on the bullsh** meter with the cannon sound that used to go off in Madden 08 when you hit a deep pass.

Cool videos, I'm excited for this game just based on Madden 12. Can't wait for it.

Schlereth seems cool as hell, the kinda guy you'd want to go have a few cold ones with lol.

I heard that too and really cringed! We had that loud stupid sound in a previous Madden that everyone complained about. I sure hope that's not in the game.

So cheeky and overdone. What is up with the run animations?! They look as bad as ever.

Running animations aren't pretty. We will have to wait for next gen to possibly experience no ice skating. And the description of the PA pass sounds awful. Why speed up the QB animations? Just get the blocking right.

I can accept that people think APF 2K8 or NFL 2K5 are pretty good animations-wise but I think people tend to suffer from selective memory when it comes to talking highly about how great they were. Remember, the backup qb is always the most popular qb

Madden has to improve the running animations (clearly) but I don't think by any means they are anything worhty of destroying the gaming experience.
Those are pretty good running animations, still see sliding, skating, zig zag running, all the things people CRUCIFY Madden about though.

I think what they mean by "speeding up the animation" is giving control back to the user sooner rather than making go speed of light. In previous editions of Madden the real problem was that the QB would take to much time to gather himself after finishing the fake with the RB, so by the time the rush would come he'd have no reaction. I think the initial animation speed will be the same but user will regain control faster.

Also worth noting they've said they have tuned reaction times so D players bite on the PA fake on a more realistic fashion.

BINGO!

As I said... The backup QB is always more popular! People choose to forget everything sub-par or in need of improvement about 2K games.

I'm personally excited to see the rest of Madden news before making up my mind about the game. So far so good imo!

This is so true. I'm sure there will be a large group of people that find a way to complain about how unreal Simms and Nantz will look but will forget about how terrible Chris Berman looked.

@2:42 on the first video...really...you couldnt make the demo video glitch free?

I'm loving the how "The Luc" looks with the new HDR lighting. It was way too dark previously.

If they can address the running animations, I'll be good to go. It was painful watching that one run with Frank Gore.

Motion blur makes this game look even better in motion.

The thing that I feel is missing from Madden's running animations is that it doesn't feel as if the player has weight to him when he plants a foot to cut. You can juke out a guy with the left stick easier than the Juke buttons, imo.
