Another MLB 12 The Show game update arrived this morning, bring it up to version 1.16. Check below for the details and let us know what you are seeing.
  • Schedules and box score were misaligned for a portion of the games for certain teams.
  • Occasionally when loading into online games, an empty field (home plate view) would be shown and user has to PS button out.
  • Analog bunting interface, versus a behind the pitcher view in online games would cause a frequent freeze when the user on offense bunted.

here are the facts of my freeze...
1)knights opening day roster
2)started pre 1.06 patch(was past april so i got that patch without incident)
3)rtts after all star break when i got 1.16
4)cant hit play next app without it freezing now

These are 4 completely different situations. Imagine trying to make 1 patch that safely and efficiently complemented all 4 of these groups.

I realize SCEA kinda got themselves into this mess in the first place, but I think we should at least cut them some slack if the patch doesn't work for everyone, in every scenario, since it's practically impossible for it to do so.
That is the group I am in. I DL 1.06 and started a brand new franchise. DL 1.16 and have no issues at all.

I'd be apart of one of those 2. I don't remember my exact start date (I had started up my Braves franchise when OSFM Spring Training rosters were released) but I restarted cause of a settings screwup (no CPU Trades were happening cause of CPU Roster control). Was sometime shortly after the OSFM Opening Day rosters came out.

I am currently unable to play my franchise cause of the record / freeze glitch.

If I have to start over, fine, not going to like it but nothing I can do.

I do want a refund for training points though. I lost out on money (and time) because of these issues.

Edit: We I guess not all is lost. I deleted patch and my game works now.

What major issues did 1.06 fix so I know what I'm missing?

I use OFSM rosters. Play with the Mets. Had a franchise before the first patch. Downloaded the first patch. Never had any freezing issues. Downloaded the new patch. Haven't had any freezing issues.

Nope sorry. I gave them their slack when there were problems with the first patch. It wasn't a huge deal because they were talking to us and letting us know what was wrong and "working on a solution". Back to back patches in less than 3 weeks that both cause huge problems with the game...No friggin' way are they getting any compassion whatsoever. If it were my company, people would be getting fired tonight.

I'm an east coaster though so I don't have very much patience for anything, let alone this sort of intoreable nonsense.

My RTTS is horked as well.

I am almost positive I started it before 1.06, no issues with 1.06, On Aug 13, 2013 freeze on sim to next appearance.

Deleting the patch data seemed to have worked for me, I should probably backup my RTTS save =]

No way! I have been a HUGE supporter of SCEA and MLBTS for many years now, but this year borders on offensive.
Problem after problem after problem.

I understand that creating a perfect game is almost impossible, but this year's game is on the complete opposite side of the perfection spectrum.

While I will still continue to buy this game every year and will continue to support it every year, it would be nice if just once we could get a game with very minimal issues.

It seems that the first patch, the one out of the box created a second set of issues. Then 1.06 created more issues, and now 1.16 has created even more issues and the only one issue that I see that has been fully resolved is the weekday 7:00PM game times.

I could have lived with that glitch.

I agree with just about everything you said here. I bought this game for the first time in about 4 years and I was told about the exceedingly high reputation that SCEA had. This made me happy because it would give me a break from all of EA's garbage, but I was wrong, up until now the only time I've seen a dev from SCEA post here is from the 1.06 patch.

This is just bringing back so many dreadful memories of the NCAA 12 patches.

EDIT: *rant on* besides the problems the firsst patch was supposed to fix......some of those problems are still present. you can still throw people out ay first base from right field as the RF plays too shallow. Even Knight confirmed this*rant off*
Actually, no....my statement about RF'ers was not about throwing guys out at 1B(the CPU never does ....NEVER)
It was that on line drive hits to RF.....in some cases, they play too shallow and will keep the runner on 2nd from scoring.

Oh...and patched.....franchise from 1.06
No problems.

I'm not sure what you are getting at here.
Are you saying that they purposely are throwing glitches in?
Are you saying they aren't trying to fix things?
Don't give a crap?

I'm sorry, but I just don't get how trying to patch a game in which may indeed be causing problems diminishes SCEA's high reputation.
You're losing me on that one.

You guys do realize that we are throwing THOUSANDS of different variations of saves at this patch...and for SCEA to test that is IMPOSSIBLE.

I do and I know things happen. If I can't have the patches and it's not a way to fix it, I do want to be refunded my training points and not 2 months down the road.

I paid for training points to play RTTS, right now with the patch, that's not possible with my save.

Refund my money, I'll download the patch and start from scratch.

I put in the 1.16 patch this morning, saw all the negative comments and deleted it. Does anyone know how I can get the 1.06 patch back? Where can I download it? Thanks

First off I just want to thank you for all of your work on the rosters.

Where in that did I imply that they were purposely putting glitches in the game? I'm just saying that we shouldn't have to restart our franchise or RTTS every time they patch the game.

# 135 dutch4404 @ 04/28/12 10:21 PM
u cant get 1.06 back. once u delete the patch, u delete them all and can only get the current one back

# 136 Helios12787 @ 04/28/12 10:21 PM
I agree that it is impossible for them to address all of the possible outcomes when it comes to testing pre-patch. However, given that the last patch was primarily directed at specific issues that we are seeing happen in a frequent manner after THIS patch, it is something that could've been spotted in testing.

In order to fix the issues solved from the 1.06 patch, they had to test / fix certain things in order to stop the freezes / schedule glitches and such. This patch is showing a very similar / in some cases the SAME freezes that we a lot of people saw pre 1.06 patch (I was not one of these people luckily).

From that statement we can assume that similar testing methods would / should have been used to make sure there were no compatibility issues (given they had had such a widespread freezing issue in the previous patch). I cannot believe they did any sort of testing in that regards given how rampant this issue has been for so many people this quick.

Again, **** happens, but we def need an announcement / communication from the devs ASAP or this game will be heading into the "why couldn't you leave my game alone" pile along with NCAA 12.

I think this is a fair thing to say...

Do we have a single person who had freezes post 1.06, continued their franchise, downloaded this patch, and now has no problems?

I'm still on my same franchise file, and although I could make it freeze if I wanted to, I've been able to continue playing with minimal problems. I really don't want to have to start over. I'll finish the year patchless if I have to, but I'm curious if other people in my situation have tried to do stuff?

Not to mention that if I plan on playing without this patch I will obviously have to disconnect my PS3 from the internet, since it's already asked me 3 times and I've only been playing for about 10 minutes.

Come on man. SCEA is in the wrong here and it can't be argued. Someone's JOB in that company is to test the patch...How in the world does that person miss the fact that a team with over 100 losses makes the playoffs? How do they miss the fact that this new patch is causing RTTS to freeze? How do they not catch these things when it is their JOB??? Also there has yet to be any announcement on this issue. It's laziness on their part and we have a right to sound off on them. This is inexcusable.

Having said all that I'm not going off on you personally Knight. I along with everyone who visits this site appreciate the hard work that you put into the rosters each year. You make the game what it is for many of us. I'm just trying to say that 2 patches in less than 3 weeks that both broke the game further cannot be excused.

I am not sure anyone that's worked or knows anything about what goes in to software development could claim "laziness" as a reason why issues like these get in to release.

There are obviously some issues here, but laziness is certainly not one of them.

# 140 GabeCava @ 04/28/12 11:24 PM
I'm sure when we all signed the EULA that it says somewhere in there that SCEA can pretty much do whatever they want with their own game, poor patch or not. Sure it might not sit well for some people but you should be thankful if they do end up fixing this quickly instead of letting it sit and brew for a while... which they can completely do. So give it about 24 or 48 hours and see what they do, just never venture around the WoW forums on patch day, you'll hate yourself ha ha.
