Click the link below to follow along with the Madden 13 live webcast. EA will be covering presentation and a bit of gameplay today. Plus, stay tuned shortly after for OS' own detailed information from Madden NFL 13.
I'm glad to hear that they improved the presentation. Playing games against the CPU just felt flat and boring, last year. I love what I saw with the new defensive options and Read and React AI. Now, if they gave Franchise mode a proper overhaul, I'll be a happy gamer.
The only thing that I didn't like that Clint said is that the O-Line was giving up too many sacks. That wasn't entirely true, the GUARDS are giving up too many sacks, but the Tackles (especially against 4-3 Defensive Ends) don't give up enough. I am glad that they are working on this and I hope that they correctly tune the areas on the OL/DL that need fixing, otherwise we will be in an even worse situation than we are now.
I agree. Last year the DTs was the problem. They was to overpower. They need to balance, but not making the oline to overpower this year. I don't want to have a ton time in the pocket. I just want to have time to scan the field and try and atleast throw it if I can. Overall I'm hoping they will find that right balace with it before it comes out.
My overall take, I'm encouraged, but not blown away by anything particular. There are a couple of gameplay details I was hoping for that I didn't hear anything about (run fits, gap assignments, etc.), maybe they'll pop up later, but I'm still in wait and see mode.
Overall, though, it seems like a good team is in place and they're moving in the right direction.
Check out my avatar for an idea about "game face".
Thats from EA MMA, You take a picture of your face (or 2, 1 straight on, 1 profile) then map the digital points of your digital face (ie, nose, chin) to your pictures. The game renders the pictures into 3d model characters that are suprisingly accurate.
I did this with a few friends from work so that we could settle our "beefs" digitally! I really dont know why EA hasnt marketed this tech more, it really is fun to use and WORKS AS ADVERTISED.
While I'm excited about the prospect of route based passing (heh) I'm not really feelin the whole dim/bright icons, but now it sounds like I won't hit my TE in the back of his head when he's let uncovered, so that's cool. As long as the OL, wrs, and qb are all on the same page now though I'll make it work.
Looking forward to the 1 step drop and the new shotgun PA.
