Homerun Celebration Travesty...
Miami Style. YEAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Miami Style. YEAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I gotta go through my old stuff and see if I can find my scrapbook of "future stadium drawings" I used to do. I did one both for the Marlins and the Mets before they actually got new stadiums. I'm not super proud of my Mets one, but the Marlins one I made was both baseball and football suitable, and a retractable roof (also with a huge glass panel). I wish I still remember what it looked like, but I can't recall it being as drab as the new one.
I must admit, I don't really think I like this new stadium. Some new stadiums really don't stand out to me either (Nationals Park for instance), but there isn't really anything bad about it either. I just look at this one, and I see "wasted opportunity" written all over it. It's unfortunate.
However, at the same time, I'm also glad the Mets went with a new stadium design compared to what they proposed in the early 2000s, which would have been just as poor as this new Marlins park IMO.
By the way, nothing will ever be worse than the Trop.

I could be wrong, but what may be missing from the stadium is the numerous advertisements plastered all over stadiums (in real life and video games). Maybe we've been programmed to see so many ads, and their absense in this video gives it that "lifeless" look.

That has to be the worst HR celebration in a stadium ever. I can't believe someone actually thought that gaudy display looked good.
I think hatīs this year are much better

Still an ugly park IMO. Won't help that the new color scheme the Marlins are going with means we might see some sky-blue and orange thrown into the mix somewhere as well (that, or it just plain won't match, which is equally as disturbing).
However, I do think it has the potential to shine at night. I'd like to see how it looks when it's closed and the sun has set at this venue.

That aquarium out in center has got to be the single ugliest addition to any stadium ever! Who ever thought of that design should be fired. Also why couldn't they get the Miami skyline into the game?
I feel for this new stadium. Imagine this was a newborn baby, and from day one people looking at telling all kinds of things like how she's bland, ugly, boring, nose sticking out funny, will be going to another kindergarten playing with other kids instead, etc., etc.
Poor baby.
Poor baby.
This park is huge! The Dimensions definetly favor pitchers in this ballpark. Even more so if the glass panel is open and the wind blows in from left field. I'm going to feel bad for Stanton, Ramirez and Sanchez.
