I gotta say, I love this game, but man, some small issues have really been killing me. Not that I'm mad about them, but they've literally costed me some online games.
I was ranked 106th in the world at one point. Now I'm at a number that is no longer even worth figuring lol.
It's refreshing to play a football game where speed isn't the dominant attribute.
I'm having more success with strong guys like Brandon Marshall and Antonio Gates as my receivers than Jacoby Ford, who has the highest speed possible in the game.
Just curious but have any you guys ever played the old Blitzes ever? Some of these complaints seem to come from those that are new to the series. Blitz was always fun and fake over realism, and I hope they leave it alone but add LATE HITS! It's a Blitz staple.
One super frustrating aspect is the Intercept button which is also mapped as the dive button on defense (Triangle for Ps3). So there is two dive buttons on defense for some odd reason.
I've given up huge completions when I am controlling the DB who is clearly in front of the WR, ball is in the air, I'm going for the sure INT, and I dive instead of going for the catch the ball animation. Really frustrating. Unless I am doing something wrong. This happening to anyone else?

Best way to get a leaping interception is to be facing the play before pressing the dive/INT button - if you're turned backwards you'll probably dive. That's not a terribly bad thing anyway, since you can commit blatant pass interference and not get called - diving at the WR and taking him out before the ball gets there is perfectly acceptable in this game.
There's no automatic turnaround/strafe button like in madden though, so you have to turn manually.
Also, yeah, there's two dive buttons, but Triangle/Y is the only button I've been able to do leaping INT's with.
For INTs you can jump straight up by pressing dive without turbo. If you press turbo + dive, you go for a tackle instead.
Yep, I do this with no turbo. Even more so I've been testing it out with safe zone. I chose the middle safety that is back roaming. I get a good read on the play, I'm right in front, facing the QB, no turbo, and I hit the triangle,,,and dive almost every time, if not every time...lol. Once or twice I get it to work, but I'm sure it was just random.
Really no reason what so ever that needed to map the triangle button to make it dive, when there is already another dive button. Really why would they do something like this?
Seems like all anyone runs online is plays out of the trips formation. Usually Da Bomb, and if there is no one of the left side of the line they just take off an run with the QB. Funny when I stop them after a drive or 2 and they don't know what to do.
1) Run the flipped version of 1-man blitz to the weak side of the formation.
2) Shove all the receivers to the ground at the snap since they're lined up in a nifty row.
3) ?????
4) Profit.
Best offensive play in the game IMO is Uppercut. Very versatile play that gives you a running option, an intermediate post route and a deep streak route.
Most of the game I just mix up Uppercut and Hail Mary since they're out of the same formation and can't be distinguished from each other until the snap.
X-Cross is also good for QB sneaks and short-yardage situations.

It's because the control scheme is based on the old arcade game that had only 1 joystick and 3 buttons:
I'm just glad they gave us an actual spin button now (B button). In the old days, you had to double-tap turbo, which was unreliable.
The new juke move they added to this game (on the bumpers) seems totally worthless. I can't get it to work at all.
I just revert to trying to juke people using the left joystick. Seems much more effective to me, but maybe that's just a result of my experience with the old game and inexperience with this new juke button.
