nope, offline, My Player mode.

It's not only the fact that they're making contested shots, but it's how they're making them. Dwight turned in every direction imaginable with the agility of a Manny Pacquiao before putting up a feathery soft lay-up with very little transition from the dribbling to the lay-up....it just....happened.

It feels like the game play is sped up and some of the weight that the players had pre-patch is gone.

wooooo! if this is true i cant wait!

My guess is the only reason they rushed to release this was because, they want to start selling their online legends DLC and make more money. They couldn't milk the money from us if the online was down. I know it sounds cynical, but this was all in all a pretty quick fix for something in the past they'd overlook for a longer amount of time.

I was ready to pop in 2k on my day off and I see a patch prompt. Because of what happened last year, instead of blindly downloading it I figured I'd check here first. Then I see hoops and nuckles post.

Im concerned, anyone else notice gameplay changes OFFLINE?

I already deleted everything 2K12 from my HDD (including my rosters I worked on), and cleared the cache.

Looks like I won't be playing 2K12 while connected to Live, cause I was having a blast playing My Player with a cyberface applied, and I don't plan to sit back and hope for another patch that counter acts this one, I'll just ball offline.

I have to start absolutely everything all over again, tho.

It seems like the patch has some positives for online gamers, but it looks like MP players got seriously F'd in the A by this one.

There are some complaints about it in the Bugs/Glitches thread on 2K's site, surprisingly I haven't seen too many complaints here on OS tho. Weird.

Got nothing to do with reading comprehension.

#1) I can see the difference with my own two eyes. My eyes aren't lying to me, lol. I literally played 2K an hour before I got the patch yesterday, and it played differently post-patch. I deleted everything from the HDD, cleared the cache, and surprise surprise the game is playing the way it did Oct 3rd - Oct 13 12am- about 8pm.

#2)

2K kinda has a track record of this. They say a patch affects one thing and it ends up leeching it's way into other aspects of the game.

Maybe you're new to 2K's games Rawdeal? (a bunch of exclamation points)

Yea, I saw a few stutters on transition plays. It would happen when I cross half court and would sort itself out by the time I go to the 3 point line.

been playing since 2k8, far from new bro.

Still no custom sliders, still no lobbies. Even if drops are fixed, its still broken.

There are three groups of people everytime a patch comes out for a game:

Group 1: The group that is 100% convinced that the patch screwed the game over and they are now returning it. They constantly comb through the game looking for even the smallest of errors and reporting on here that the error was caused by the patch, even though the error may be non-existent or the error may have been in the game pre-patch. The guys gripe about the game, claiming it to be unplayable and claim they are returning, however 90% of them never stop posting their displeasure which leads you to believe that they have in fact kept the game and have turned into some sort masochist and therefor keep playing the game to prolong their suffering.

Group 2: The group that is convinced that the developers are not telling us what all the they fixed in the game. This group scours the game immediately after the release of the patch looking for anything that was different from what they saw before the patch. However, most of their assumptions are based on a small sample size which only proves that the games vary from game-to-game instead of basing it on large scale sample sizes of games played pre- and post- patch. This group usually loves the patch and continue to post their satisfaction regardless of anything bad that comes out of the patch. Many in the group move to Group 1 once the next patch is released.

Group 3: The group that bottom line, reads what the developers told them they fixed, take the developers at their word and then wait a few days before making any decisions as to whether the patch was good or bad. This is the most level headed group and the group that usually remains on the message boards after the anger and exciting from Groups 1 and 2 have burned away.

So please everyone, try to relax, give it a few days, or at least 12 hours and see what happens with the patch before we draw any major conclusions about the good or bad of this patch.

Good night and good luck.

I hear you. I remember this fiasco with the living rosters and how the board was split between those who saw it and those who didn't.

I think it also has something to do with play style, depending on how you play the game, you may see changes throughout the life of the game because certain aspects are affected or you may not.

I can see a stark difference, because the game I've been playing is the Rookie Showcase game with that watered down roster. So there's no driving the lane and high flying plays cause my guy is a 62 overall.

First time I noticed something yesterday post patch was actually during a game in the NBA against the Magic. It was playing weird, and I figured it had something to do with the cyberface I put on my guy...so instead of doing more hex work, I decided to start over with a fresh guy. Same gameplay issues. Quit, made another guy, same thing.

Today I deleted all 2K files from the HDD, cleared the cache, and fired up 2K but declined the patch. I made a MP dude, went to the Showcase game...and it played the way it did Oct 3rd thru the 13th (pre-patch.) I put the file on a flash drive, hexed the cyberface onto the guy, put it back on the console, no problem.

A telling issue was how guys were recovering to contest shots. Since my dude is just barely past scrub territory, I have to rely on getting space for a jumper, whether it's a jab step or pump fake to get the guy to commit. Pre-patch, I can get the shot off, whether or not it goes is the question. Post-patch, if I get my defender to bite on the pump in the showcase game, I take that rhythm dribble around him and rise for the shot, and the center comes flying out, about 18 feet, to contest the shot. Wasn't happening before, no doubt about it. I also see the computer converting contested shots under the rim at a higher rate....BUT, if the way someone plays the game is centered around iso-moves and scoring inside...they might not see the issue because the way they play hasn't really been negatively affected.

It's all about perspective. When I saw Wall penetrate and score, I thought nothing of it. When I pump faked Richardson out of his shoes and took a step forward for the jumper and Bass closed like 15 feet in the blink of an eye, I thought it was weird, then when I saw Dwight moving super fast inside and spinning around like Monta and laying it up, I said wait just a damn minute. Ten days of playing the game and I just now see this stuff after a recent patch?

this patch fixed nothing in the game except connecting to online games, and that isn't gonna fix its server issues either

Ever since the patch I can no longer play Online association games. This is very frustrating...
