Madden 12 News Post

Jon Robinson of ESPN The Gamer takes us through the team overall ratings for the NFC North in Madden NFL 12.

Green Bay Packers: 92
No surprise here as the Super Bowl champs are the highest-rated team in "Madden 12." Aaron Rodgers falls just one point short of "Madden" perfection, with a 98 overall, while Charles Woodson (93 overall) and Tramon Williams (92 overall) will keep the corners on lock.

Chicago Bears: 85
Combine Jay Cutler's 98 throwing power with Devin Hester (98 speed) and Johnny Knox (97 speed) going deep, and you have a very fun "Madden" team. Throw in the running of Matt Forte, and you have an offense to be feared.

Detroit Lions: 76
The overall team number is a little low, but I can see the Lions being a popular team this year for the simple fact that this defensive line is going to give people headaches. Suh (95 hit power) and Fairley (88 hit power) are going to abuse virtual backs so bad, "Madden" might need to bring back the old ambulance.

Minnesota Vikings: 74
Ever since Adrian Peterson stormed the league, the Vikings have been a popular pick to play as in "Madden." But if you're still playing as them this year, it's really only because you want to run the ball down your friend's throat as All Day. And why not when the back boasts a 97 overall rating with 97 speed, 97 acceleration, and 90 trucking.

y dont u peoples beleive me its now been official for an hour anyways now the panthers are really stacking tightends as now shockey and olsen will be on the team

# 24 Daverboy1 @ 07/28/11 07:29 PM
bye bye greg olsen! o_O I have a feeling chicago will end up with Roy Williams. Hopefully if they do, Roy can break out of the underacheiving slacker that he has been labeled as ever since leaving Detroit. Now that the Bears have absolutely no big pass catchers, since Olsen peaced out.. we are in need of a big WR that can spread the field deep. C'mon Jerry Angelo.. bring us a quality big man WR home!!! =]

No, they are not releasing who the Bears got in return. They have only said that Chicago got a "player & draft pic.

# 26 kingcrf @ 07/28/11 07:52 PM
sorry but no that is yet to be realeased i believe they only got early pics no big time players

No way GB is a 92, the Eagles got more threats than they have and they're only ranked 86 I think. Boosting they're rating because they went to the superbowl is joke. They aren't going back to the superbowl this year.

lol the packers have a pro bowler caliber at just about every level.

aaron rodgers
greg jennings
jermichael finley
nick collins
bj raji
clay matthews
charless woodson
tramon williams

compared to the eagles

vick
jackson
samuel
cole

not to mention green bay is the deepest team in the league, especially at wr and cb, two prime madden positions.

We won the Super Bowl last year with a league high for players on IR (Our Pro-Bowl caliber Tight End and starting Running Back, among others), we're getting all those players back this year so we'll be better on paper, and we're not supposed to be the best team in the game?

Okay, OS. Whatever you say.

Really? The Eagles have more threats than the World Champion Green Bay Packers? How did you draw this conclusion. Were you drinking? Green Bay has the better QB (Top rated NFC QB BTW)! Better WRs, TEs, OL, DBs, LBs, DTs, You do realize the Packers owned your team last year right?

You realize they are a one and done team right? Oh and better WR's? and TE's Don't make me laugh,

Jeremy Maclin: 70 catchs, 10 td's
vs
Donald Driver: 51:catchs, 4 td's

DeSean Jackson:47 catchs,6 td's
vs
Greg Jennings: 76 catchs, 12 td's

TE

Brent Celek: 42 catchs, 4 td's
vs
Jermichael Finley: 21 catchs, 1 td

Saying Aaron Rodgers is better than Vick pfft his rating is 101.2, vicks rating is 100.2 are you serious?Thats not even enough to definitively say hes a better QB

09 was before they lowered the ratings.

I think the ratings for the teams are actually very well done. Do I think GB should be the highest rated in the game? No, but IMO I don't think they get as much credit as they should from the NFL nation. IMO they strongly under performed in the regular season and I actually chose them to win the Superbowl before the playoffs started last year. They are just a flat out good team and it absolutely kills me that they are in the Vikings division. I'm in no way worried about the Bears, but the Pack and Lions are kind of scaring me these days. Also may I add that I absolutely cannot stand the Packers in any way shape or form. I think I would rather die than be a packer fan (or a Bears fan for that matter). I really had to man up and say the truth in order to type this post, because I cannot stand admitting that GB is a really good team.

You can't even spell "catches" so any point you try to make is completely irrelevant now.

Aaron Rodgers is a better QB than Vick by miles man. Who gives a **** about a QB rating it's all about wins and losses. Not how fast they can run.

Jermichael Finley is going to be an amazing TE this year if he stays healthy, you just watch. Comparing his stats to Brent Celek is moronic because Finley missed almost the entire season.

I'd say the receiving corps are about equal but the Packers also have Jordy Nelson who I believe is highly underrated and they just drafted Randall Cobb I think his name is.

The Packers are a MUCH deeper team than the Eagles (and most of the rest of the NFL) at almost every position except for our OL.
