lol, I forgot that those screenshots are from a demo build lol. I was hoping that it would be something like the game will try to figure out why it keeps freezing in he 3rd qtr or something lol. Now I feel like an idiot lol.

My god, this game looks absolutely beautiful!

The player traits screens have me most excited, each player should play like their real life counterparts.

This is the first time iv'e been excited about Madden in years.

Screens look great. I wonder how many other player traits there are. And if they're more position specific. Dynamic Player Performance seems interesting. Wait and see as far as its implementation.

I like 'em overall. The lighting textures and the colors look really good to me.

My only wish is I'd like to see the QB's actually hold the ball, a variety in ball carriage, and the way the QB's grips the laces. Matt Ryan for instance has the ball very high and tight to his body during in his drop back, almost up near his ear. The screen shot from the game has him holding it way too far out from his body.

But the player traits look like it's going to add a layer of realism to the game and the pics themselves are steadily getting close to the real thing.

LOL......Vick senses pressure, paranoid.

Damn........I didn't think they were going to get THAT specific. I am very impressed with Madden 12 so far.

They definitely tryng to win sports game of the year this year.

Well they have the pocket stances that sort of do the same thing (don't know about the dropback) but they were broken last year. Yes broken. If you dropped back from under ctr, every QB had the same pocket stance. If you took a shotgun snap, only then would the QB use his signature stance. Hope it's fixed...

I don't like the Vick pictures with him running right by #56. For a professional football player, and even against a fast player like Vick, he(#56) took an absolutely terrible angle.

There's no doubt in my mind the graphics will look great. I'm just hoping game play has made the improvements that they are claiming to have made.

vick looks huge, so does matt ryan, maybe scale them down a bit

The ratings really stand out to me. I like what they have to characterize your QB.

Me personally for Vick under sense pressure. I would have gone with "Tucks and Runs" , not trigger happy.

Then I would remove the tuck and run category, and place it as a option for "Sense pressure".

Running QB's only tend to tuck and run when they feel any kind of pressure in the pocket, or if a play calls for it (Naked bootleg or QB draw). Now if a play calls for it then it because of the play called, not simply because he wanted to run.

Well to be fair....his tuck and run trait is often. So he is naturally going to scramble for yards anyway.

Pictures don't show things like if Vick juked, pump faked or if #56 just came off coverage etc..
I don't see how any determination of what kind of angle he took can be made from these still shots.
Not saying it couldn't have been a bad angle, just that I don't see how that can be said with any certainty.

To me, Mike Vick's player model looks off. From cleats to upper body attire.

What's with these QB's as "aggressive" playing the ball in the air?

Wouldn't that be a DB trait, or even maybe an LB trait? Basically, for a defender in coverage?

Wow does Madden look great this year. The colors are much more vibrant than NCAA. I can't wait for both.

This game got a seriously much needed graphical update. It looks amazing. Though going by the Marshall Faulk pic in the other thread when the Rams were home, it looks like EA needs a little more work done in the dome lighting department. Still a great looking game though.

Just to be fair, though, the Edward Jones Dome never looked like it had the greatest lighting from what I've always seen on T.V. It always looked a little dank to me. With the Georgia Dome, though, the material that the actual dome is made out of is designed to let in sunlight to lite the place for day games. The Madden team has definitely had it rendered too dark in past, but these few pics of the Falcons do look a little more vibrant. Can't wait to see it in motion to see for sure.

Yeah, in the game it looks like Vick is wearing a low cut neck jersey lol, EA needs to show some less skin!

But seriously,on the trait page with Vick.... um... I think I'll pass on receivers that have a positive in the "Drops Open Passes" lol....

Also, what's with the "Utilizes XXX moves"? What's the point of showing ratings for D-line players when they may not even use a rating they are high in? So I could get a 99 FMV and he might only try to Bull Rush with a 10 rating there?

There's too much blue in it and the color needs to be taken down a bit.
That's the lighting I'd bet. Can't really capture the right look, same with the Freeman picks. Heck, if you ever seen Freeman play, even for 1 snap, you'd know that player model of him looks nothing like him. Poor Freeman and Roethlisberger, they'll never get their looks down. For one, they need to be wearing a looser jersey lol and also these guys are BIG QB's, the difference between Vick and Freeman should be more then a few virtual inches.

This is just a guess, but I'll bet this is how it works:

Player ratings show a player's raw ability to do something, like, for example, a finesse move to get off a block.

But player tendencies affect the likelihood that a particular talent or skill will be used during game situations.

The former is about raw player capacity. The later is about the probability that a skill/behavior/animation will take place.

So, for example, take a fumble prone HB with a relatively low carrier rating. When he's hit, the system might do a check to crunch his carry rating with his fumble prone tendency and spit out a result. For my example player, might be a high fumble rate.

But let's say the player has a good carry rating, but is still fumble prone. The player tendency may only show up more in high pressure situations, at key times in games, or maybe when a whole team is playing on low confidence during a game.

That's all just speculation, but it wouldn't surprise me if ratings and tendencies interact this way.
