Catcher camera #5 is the ****. I've been waiting for The Show to have something like it forever.

Sweet demo.

Anybody got any tips for hitting? I try to pull back on the stick right when the pitcher's letting go of the ball, but that feels like it's too late. I hit a ground ball up the third base line, but I think that was an accident, lol. Most of what I'm doing is just fouling pitches off.

Really love the demo so far... analog stick is nice for realistic baseball and analog pitching is not easy for me right now but i'll get used to it.

The game looks awesome again this year, can't wait!

Wow... I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the new analog controls. ESPECIALLY the hitting. This is the first time since MVP 05 that I've truly ENJOYED hitting in a baseball game. Just hit back-to-back home runs off Lincecum, and I could just "feel" that I made solid contact. I'm am just absolutely ecstatic about this.

I can't WAIT for March 8.

I think pitching analog from the catches view is best because you get to see the arc on pitches and I do not have to see how horrible the crowd looks behind home plate. LOL

Loving the analog. feels great
the crowd looked terrible in '10 from the outfield view, but looked up to snuff when using pitcher view, interestingly enough. sad to see this is still the case. also sucks what the other poster said about 1080p not being fully supported. ah well, not game killers.

Just one quick blurb about the new controls before I get back to more games(only played two so far..). The analog controls are sooooooo much more intuitive than I expected. I was already starting to get the hang of things by the end of the first game, and by the second game it really started to click.

Personally, I don't find the analog pitching to be any harder than the meter, but it's just so much more fun. I love how it feels as if I'm almost in complete control, even when I miss with the stick... it goes exactly where I missed with it. I'm still getting the feel for nailing the exact velocity I want, but overall, it feels very natural. I'm looking forward to trying it out on the harder difficulty levels soon.

The Hitting isn't going to be as easy to master as the pitching, but I think I can already tell that I'm going to prefer it over zone hitting. Though it's definitely way too early to tell. It's extremely responsive, and it leads to more natural feeling at-bats. Mainly because the check swings are just about perfect, which helps in working better pitch counts, as well as really waiting on the perfect pitch.

I'll post more after I get a few more games under my belt.

I cheated and messed with the sliders a little bit

seems like a lot of errors in this game

Sorry for the poor quality. I recorded this with my phone, so I was controlling the video in one hand and holding the phone in the other. Also, the picture lost some crispness when I uploaded it to YouTube.

Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny. The ball just rolls back and taps Posey's foot, but he goes down like he took a burner off the shins, ahaha.

Analog picthing is awesome, so is the analog hitting. Bunting feels just about right with the new analog controls.

Players animations, commentary, presentation, new stat overlays etc.. I can go on and on. This is my early pick for sports game of the year!

A big thank you, to SCEA and the team for making another stellar baseball game.

^ this.

Okay, thanks. I was doing it wrong.

As it stands though. I think pitching is the only analog controls I'll be using. I can't even make contact with analog hitting. As for fielding, it's an error every other throw. I won't give up on the analog concept. But I feel much more comfortable with the face buttons.. Loving every other aspect of the game though.

If they are by you, then you aren't aiming your throws properly in the field. All errors are user controlled this year.

The demo did nothing to excite me, which is disappointing.

I'll start with the positives:

+ The crowd is a lot more varied
+ The new controls are a nice addition
+ The fields do seem larger
+ There are some cool new animations and cut scenes
+ Player models look better and the graphics are a bit sharper

- The game feels very much like '10 with new controls. Felt very similar and frankly I was rather bored after a couple innings.
- The commentary which at one time was a strength is the number one weakness
- Nothing screams excitement anymore about the game

There's really not a whole lot that jumped out at me. For the last few months, I've been anticipating this game. Right now, I'm strongly
considering renting it through Gamefly and seeing if it catches my long term enjoyment.

Damn... years past I couldn't hit to save my life on pro... with analog, on All-Star, I've got 10 hits and 4 runs (2 off homers) through 2 innings! Lol.

I feel like I'm cheating! This is fantastic.

BTW, I still find the commentary enjoyable. Nice and laid back... I know I'm in the minority there.

I like it too. Although, i take it the audio quality is compressed in this demo. Either that, or i need to re-wire my speakers..

I can finally take walks now too

Anyone else hear an occasional "squeak" of audio? I don't know how else to describe it...hopefully it is gone on the retail version...

# 58 DavidPrice#14 @ 02/22/11 08:54 PM
I hit a homerun with Cody Ross and the fielder tried to rob it.
The ball bounced off his glove and out of the park.
But it didnt count for a homerun and it was an inside the park homerun.
Other then that the games AMAZING!!

Sweet demo.
Yes. You see the break better, easier to pick up balls in the dirt. I really like it also.
