Looks like slider re-adjustments (like rebounds fr example), are needed now, since the patch fixed this problem

I am starting to think Roster edits will need to be readjusted also? Like 'Vertical' rating for players

I'm going to up the shooting to what you use as they are pretty darn low on the default all star which makes for baaaad %

v1.2 patch + 11/25/10 Living Rosters = Game might not leave my PS3 for some time (okay, maybe occasionally to get some GT5 time in)

Everything is so well balanced and this is on Superstar/Sim (the infamous "cheating" setting before). With all of the tweaks to rebounding, verticals, and jump shooting, I can finally say now that Superstar/Sim is a very fair challenge. I'm loving it!! It could just be placebo, but I'm seeing more offball movement as well without the need for me to call plays. Add to it the improved directional passing, and I'm now able to run an efficient offense versus the computer in this game. This patch and latest roster has addressed all of the gripes I had with this game initially. I might have to do an apology blog for this LOL.

shooting is more difficult...i had trouble pre-patch figuring out the release point for the players..

now i gotta learn it all over again..

I agree, im going to get in the prac gym and learn all over, even using the jumper feeback for the first time, but even then I get green release and it misses lol

Alright so I played a few MyP games last night and now my most recent question is. Is there a tutorial anywhere? I'm completely lost. I found the post moves tutuorial but is there a general shooting/moves/control work tutorial? I think it would really help my player as all I do is lose skill points.

Yeah, it's in practice mode. I think it's called free style or something like that. You're able to select which player you want to practice with. I use it a lot to learn moves, releases, etc.

As for the patch, the game play (and ball even) does seems to move much faster. Also the releases seem to have changed up, as well. I played an NBA 2Day game and shot 23% for the field in the first half
I sure most of that is because I haven't played the game in a month and the rest is probably because of the patch. So basically, I just have to relearn the game and adjust. That's not too big deal for me, it's gonna be fun.

Were you named floor general yet? You need to at least get to that point before you can start calling plays.

Playing My Player mode; 8Min quarters Allstar/Simulation, SG '6'3 210 pounds athletic build' overall rating 85; Orlando Magic.

Pre patch 15 games into my second season was averaging 37pts per game, 6 assists, 7 boards, 0.5 steal and 3 turnovers. Shooting 52% from the field. Consistently getting an A+ grade average.

I was seriously contemplating going up to Superstar/Simulation. Post patch 1.20.
Played 4 games won them all, finished with 35+ points in all the games played but field goal percentage down to 35%, yup jacked up allot of contested shots try to get a feel for the new release points. Penetration towards the hoops much tougher, and once in the paint no longer any easy bucket dunks all contested more often than not I end up on the line shooting 2. Have yet to get an A rating (it will come though).

Find player movement of the ball acceptable as it was pre patch, follow the auto plays if you wish or immediately get your team mates to pass you the rock therefore allowing for freestyle offence.

Post patch my assists are up easy to find and hit player cutting into the paint, going off-screens and those who have found space when I'm being double teamed.

I find that both the CPU players on my team and the opposing team have higher field goal percentages particularly from distance, even when closely covered when taking the shot.

In general the My Player Mode is more challenging, yes I do enjoy breaking down the defence with a quick simple cross flowing into the paint rising for an uncontested slam, quite satisfying more so that I could do that at will. Now though the team structure of ball comes into effect. Pulling that off is even more satisfying. Its a great patch in my opinion.

For the things I don't notice like the now generic running styles that now exist, even if i don't notice them i know that the reverting back to pre-patch signature running for each position would further enhance the game.

Staying on Allstar/Simulation for now though, must improve before heading to loftier heights...

PS3 version BTW...

Agreed. This has vaulted to my Favorite Sports Game of All Time. So many great improvements. Things that stand out most to me are:

-- The fixed verticals. Love seeing Yao and Duncan playing like Yao and Duncan.
-- Just the overall pace and flow. So smooth and accurate
-- No More Euro-SPin Dunks!!!
-- The bumping improvements
-- The As a PS3 user, I'm able to use the random music selections for my events now too, and that is SO cool.
Major, major props to 2K!

I know for Season and Association we dont have to start over..but reading from some of the post in My Player im assuming that the patch works with current My Player modes in progress?

# 316 En Fuego @ 11/25/10 12:45 PM
dont even really notice anything different other than the shooting

anywho, why dont players in this game cut to the basket hard?
they play like dummies

they have wide open lanes to the basket to cut hard and receive the ball for an easy dunk/layup, but instead they stop right outside the paint or run all the way out behind the 3pt line

incredibly annoying

there's got to be some kind of slider or something i can adjust because they have no problem running behind the 3pt line

# 317 Rocboyz101 @ 11/25/10 12:57 PM
It seems really easy to get to the basket against a human right now..

żavailable now? hum...
"TBD" doesn't work for me, really 2k "fellows", just doesn't work...
I would love to give impressions about this patch, but TBD could be tomorrow... could be the next year, could be sometime between today and the end of the world.
I still don't understand this kind of decisions.
Until that moment ...

Wow, the patch made this game on the harder levels REALISTIC! Rebounding is much improved and the high banks are gone.

The best just got even better.
