NBA LIVE 10 Roster Update for the 2010-2011 NBA Season, Coming October 20th

Everyone has been asking what exactly can we expect to see with the NBA LIVE 10 update that was announced? This blog is here to give you all the info that you wanted. NBA LIVE 10 is here for the 2010-2011 season and the game will provide for free updates throughout the entire NBA season. Here’s a list of everything that you can expect to see with the roster update that will be going out on the morning of Wednesday October 20th:

All rosters have been updated to reflect the 2010-2011 NBA season
The 2010-2011 rookie class has been included in the update
There will be DNA Updates throughout the NBA Regular season. Expect the first update to arrive two to three weeks after the NBA regular season begins
All the player ratings have been updated

There are a few important notes that you should all be aware of regarding the NBA LIVE 10 Update:

The new rookie class will not have cyber faces included in the update
Rosters may not be 100% accurate with the first update due to NBA teams not having their rosters locked to 15 players. The rosters will be updated again to reflect the final selections made before the regular season begins.
Jerseys will not be updated to reflect the 2010-2011 NBA season
Stadiums will not be updated
Player shoes have not been updated and there will be no shoe updates coming with NBA LIVE 10 this year.
There are no scheduled gameplay updates included with the roster update
Dynamic Season will not be updated
NBA ELITE commentary will not be incorporated into the update.

All of the DNA Roster Updates will be provided for free with NBA LIVE 10 this year. Expect DNA Updates throughout the entire NBA season as well as any important reports to come your way regarding everything NBA from EA SPORTS. See you all again soon!

Wasn't it negative feedback from these very forums that got Elite delayed, I personally think by delaying Elite, EA opened up a whole new can of worms now, with people wanting there voices heard....the problem is nobody wants too hear it!!!
If they didnt want all this attention they should have released Elite as is and started over for next year. But now us, the gamers know sometimes our voices are heard. I commend EA for that, but now EA along with Operation Sports as a Gaming forum need to adjust to the chatter going on because people do think now that there opinions are going to make a difference.

I think you may have misunderstood what Peter Moore was saying. What Peter was talking about was eventually games are going to be delivered directly to the consumer (via digital download) instead of through a retailer. No one is willing to go to that route yet but it's the eventual goal. That's what Peter was talking about.

You'll still see new games like you have always been seeing every year from us it's just that it will be going straight to you from a company like EA rather than through a retailer.

It took a lot more than just OS to delay the release of a major game. Did we have a part in it, possibly. And be my guest to talk negatively about EA, do what your heart wishes. Just don't do it in a thread about free roster updates.

I don't think I am talking negatively about EA, I am just voicing my disappointment as a long time EA supporter. That being said, I think as an EA Basketball game fan, that EA should throw us a bone now and then to keep us satisfied. Yes the roster updates are free, great! did I not say I was willing to pay for jersey updates. The Roster update isn't what I'm complaining about, its the lack of other stuff. Which again, I'd would be more than willing to drop a few dollars on to get.
IF YOU FEEL I AM TALKING NEGATIVELY ABOUT EA I'M SORRY! I'm a great talker but a bad typer and things don't come out the way they are supposed to.

Im all about the "FREE" roster update, but to be objective, the frustration being expressed is REALITY, and you know what, its not a bad thing

a lot of gamers bash ea cuz they brag about 2k but the reality is live/elite has an edge on key parts of the game that i know ive already pointed out multiple times

AGAIN, i love playing competitive online b-ball with live, and I CANT WAIT FOR THE ROSTER UPDATE

I'd say it's doing something for the people who play online. Especially if the rookies play like themselves. I don't really care what they look like as long as they are the right height and play the way they should play.

I can't wait to play with... Sac Kings, Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics, and MIL Bucks. Wash might be fun, too, I love Blatche in that game.

I've been just clowning on NBA Live 10 lately when I play it. I dunno if I'll get back into it or not after the update drops. Depends on how it goes.

Does that mean they will all have generic jumpers, too?

Edit: If you read this, I really want a response to the jumper part... that's pretty important IMO.

every year some new logic about how ratings should be handled as well as how dna is implemented is changed wiht the new product.... we had a good discussion with the 2 devs in the ratings thread and they said they had a new philosophy

my question is will this philosophy be inplemented in these updates. i get it, we get nothing new in terms of content but the philosophy using the live 10 numbers CAN be done.

gameplay can be enhanced,

I feel sorry for EA Sports They lost a Bunch of Fans and Now they About to loose Even More.. For the Lack of a Quality Roster Update.. They should'nt even bother bring out in the First place... It's Not Acceptable!!!!!

I find it interesting that many gamers come on this same forum and have said, "EA needs to take a year off and re-tool. Instead, just give out roster updates for one extra year in the meantime and I will be happy."

Yet here we are, they are doing just that and (SURPRISE) the gamer is not happy.

The problem with a lot of you is YOU don't even know what you want.

Gamers are a fickle bunch.... it's disgusting.

They're disappointed it's not doing anything else other than update the rosters like you or I can.

They want "magic" or bonus content, not someone updating rosters perceivably by hand.

Yet, every year the mantra is "just give us rosters" and we'll be happy if you work on the game.

pared, ryan since you guys are mods I dont wanna get in a pissing match with you two, but...I for one always want a new game that is the big reason I am so disapointed. I truly did enjoy the elit demo and was ready to get it day one. Then it got canceled, thats why me, a loyal EA gamer feel cheated that I'm not getting anything other than a "after thought" roster update. I have also stated I am more than willing to pay for some DLC that would include jersey updates, much like march madness 08's tourny pack that EA released that year. The tecnology's out there...utalize it!! make some money doing it and keep us the gamers happy. I would say 75% of the people in this forum belive EA will not release a basketball game this season, which if they dont could hurt the brand. Why not salvage it somehow???? That's my complaint with the whole situation.

DLC isn't that simple. I'm sure they feel it isn't worth it to spend the huge premium required to put something on MS or Sony's online store.

It's a business decision and as a gamer you have to live with them all the time. Just like when Inside Drive was put down, just like when NBA Street hasn't been released in a few years... it's just how it is.

Very well said. It just goes to show how you can't please everyone. EA is working on they game and people aren't happy. If EA would've released Elite in its current state people would've been livid. You can't please everyone.

approx. 15 1/2 hours until the roster update comes out!
im countin down the minutes
now i gotta decide wether to stay up all night or set my alarm for 5 til 5 and game for a couple hours before wrk...

@rayray..........the elite game got reviewed at a 5.5 . Xbox mag .....you really wanted that game....reviewer said the game was a mess,looked bad, played worse.....i made a thread about the review.....there was a reason EA cancelled the game....

Pared you are 100% correct, it is a business decision and like we have been for years, we have to live with it. Thats why we have gaming forums like OS, to share opinions and get other gamers thoughts on gaming topics. All I was doing was letting my frustration be heard and letting people share there thoughts on the subject, same or different.
I have been an avid sports gamer, basketball in particular for near 27 years and I have owned all NBA games that have been commercially released, It just disapointing when a beloved franchise lets you down(you had to bring up Inside Drive didnt you). I didnt come in here looking for an argument but more or less support for my frustration in whats happen with the whole Live/Elite franchise.
And as for they guy bringing up reviews.....the only reviews I ever go off of are my own.
