Preferred matchups are a HUGE game changer for me if they work properly.

Last year if you changed the players your starting 5 matched up against it would lead to complete confusion on the defensive end and usually resulted in an easy bucket or uncontested 3.

From all the positive vibes coming from the defensive AI logic this year, gotta believe that you can actually match up how you would in real life.

Big ups to you Czar!

Every day that passes I get a little more anxious to play this game! Now I can jump for joy that the Cheeze will get burned like a big fat Saganaki!!! CHEA BABY!

pretty sure he means if the CPU will adjust matchups on defense as well this year instead of allways guarding your PG with their PG, your SG with their Sg etc, etc.

Would interest me as well. Not holding my breath, but there´s been so many positive changes that nothing would shock me at this point

If he was asking CPU making cross-matches, I already asked Czar about that on Twitter and he said CPU's don't do it intentionally but there are during fast breaks on their transition defense.

I asked that way back in August, here's hoping it made it to the retail version though I highly doubt it.

As far as I can remember, way back during the summer, a developer confirmed they couldn't get that in this year.

I see. Hopefully, next year. It's always good to have something to look forward to.

I sure hope those don't work like the "Defensive Matchups" last year. In 2K10, if you assigned Kobe (SG) to guard Rondo, expect the bench SG's who will be put in the game to be guarding the opponent's other PG's as well. It was position-based not player-specific.

Czar, can you confirm that Preferred Matchups is player-specific?
Yes it is. For a test I had Roy of the blazers guarding Garnet in preferred. then subbed in matthews and he was guarding the opposing sg. then when I brought Roy back in he was guarding Garnet again.

NOIIIIIIICE!

Goodbye constant editing on-the-fly Player Matchups if I opted to stick Kobe on Rondo for the whole game!

Great job as usual on the vids man. Are the team focus points still limited in number and set on a timer? I could never figure out the logic behind that. It was always puzzleing to call a time out and not be able to have my team focus on defence because either i was out of uses or my last point of focus had not run out yet.

I'm a coach mode only player on Madden, NCAA Football and The Show. I typically play NBA 2K. Coach mode in this game has to me not been good. BUT I'm going to have to try it this year.

Great video Czar and thank you for posting. As a guy who is new to the series(not basketball) its nice to see these vids prior to playing the game as it gets me "familar" with it now instead of "wasting time" on release day.

Again thank you and look forward to more strategy sessions.

As for the game....WOW!!!!! The more I see on this game the more and more impressed I become.
