yeah, ehh, I finally got that move down. It opened an entirely new and extremely effective offense with Amar'e.

There are now only two moves I am having trouble with: the half spin and the double cross. The double cross isn't that big of a deal, but the half spin is something I need to get down.

I figured you were having the same problem as me. I usually forget to release the L2 button. Same way I get tired of seeing Wall do his uber hop step dunk but I keep forgetting to release turbo.

co-sign on this statement..

Up and under the timing is really important. Must release LT and move Right stick right quickly after the pump fake animation starts.

I can't for the life of me do the half spin. Honestly think this move is impossible

You gotta really shake the defender to get to the basket in this game, and know where you are trying to go. Usually I can hit the defender with a size up left or right, then launch out in either direction; however, you gotta be ready with a crossover to change direction because the defender will jump out extra hard to not get beat, then you have the whole lane. At the same time, big men come out to help, and 2k11 isn't calling touch fouls when going to the basket so you gotta be ready for the kick out and get that assist game goin. I play on Hall of fame, so even when the big man comes out to help, the whole defense will rotate and try to anticipate my kickout pass, so you gotta be on your steve nash game, and find the open man w/o turning the ball over. I love this game!

I can't believe what I just did. I paused the game--just to come to the forums and post that I just broke Tyreke Evans ankles. LOL

I have never saw that animation. I'm playing as the Thunder and I did a great crossover. No Isomotion must a plain quick change of direction. When I broke hard one way he went for it, but when I brought it back he just fell over. LMAO...I thought it was something like he ran into another player but I watched the replay and he indeed broke Evans off. LOL

2K--I love you!!

How do you do signature lay ups? Like Crawford's and Rondo. I've been trying for 2 years.. lol..

# 248 jugganott @ 10/10/10 01:49 PM
I don't know if it was in error, but I'll be damn if he didn't break his ankles. I'm trying to get the video onto the website but for some reason it doesn't load. Am I doing it wrong? It says "Upload to 2Ksports.com" and I hit a for yes.

has anyone else broke someones ankles off the dribble?

guys, is it easier to do iso moves etc when the dribble moves are on the right stick? using controls alrernate b..

For those that are wanting a list of the different post moves you can pause the game and go under advanced controls and it will give you a full write up on all of the post moves and how to do them.

Rondo's layup will be used with the "have the LS going to north/south and pull the shot stick on the opposite direction" move.

You cannot be going directly to the rim though, so if you start at the left elbow and drive straight down towards the block and pull back on the shot stick you should get his ball fake/spin lay up.

Not sure on Crawford's though, used him a lot on the Knicks in 2K9 but his sig layup always seemed random when I pulled it off.

in conjunction with the left trigger?

Can someone tell me in what scenario a double cross or in and out is effective. On sim superstar at least i cant find a use for it. Or is it only effective in online play against my fellow humans?

# 254 ehh @ 10/10/10 03:44 PM
No LT needed.

# 255 jfindon @ 10/10/10 03:48 PM
I still wish you could assign the isomotion stuff to the face buttons like other years. yes I know it takes no skill, but I'd rather learn at a slower pace than not be able to do anything in my games. I used to slowly introduce myself to the isomotion on the stick and practice that way rather than jumping in all at once. I can't spin worth a damn. and I'm finally able to do behind the back a little bit.

If some guys are still not liking the amount of contact by the D while trying to drive. before you get too slider happy seems like angles matter more when shaking defenders. after getting the defender moving then crossing over dont imediatly try to angle towards the rim, take a wide angle away from the defender you just crossed then try to get to paint to drive of start your move. also remeber like Czar said alot of times once you created your space just pull up for the J before the D recovers. the LS cross with no trigger is a beast when used right.......... 2K nailed this game

I use this all the time. It pretty much consistently allows you to create space from the defender.

I find the other ISO moves don't allow me to create space from the defender, as effectively. Well sometimes it does, but most of the time, at least with me, doesn't create to much space. If I use any other ISO moves, even if it does create some space and then I try and drive, the defender has already recovered and is back in front of me and I collide with him, then it does that collision animation, which interrupts my ISO moves.

But usually using LS cross works consistently or the 'pressing Y' and having LS moved back (step back).

Maybe LS cross is a little to overpowered perhaps, as most defenders fall for it

Is it just me, or in the post moves practice gym, the offensive player doesn't want to back down into the defender BEFORE the pass? So basically, the offensive player just stands there waiting for the ball, without actually being backed into the defender. This complicates things as you cannot perform any moves that require you to have the ball in both hands. This didn't occur in 2k10, although sometimes the offensive player just stood there, most of the time he backed into the defender. So just me?
I found if I held the ball outside for a couple seconds, my post player would eventually back into the defender prior to the pass.

The LT flick-flick moves are so gorgeous to watch but seem very unpredictable.

They seem to fire randomly.

It could be my camera angle, but I switched to a 90 degree cam and it was the same thing...
