It's just a demo guys. I'm sure the graphics will be somewhat polished up for the final release. And BTW, when have PS3 graphics EVER been on the same level as the 360??? Answer......NEVER. You should expect this.
I'm talking off the dribble. I can perform a spin but its always loose, not that tight compact move you need to get good separation in close quarters. Like I say, maybe I'm not doing something right. What stick motion are you using?
Holding left trigger while the ball is in Kb's right hand and moving the left stick from 3 to 7 or 4 to 8 depending on the camera angle they give me while i dribble and the part of the court i'm on. Same thing for when it's in the left hand but with opposite left stick movements, if that make sense lol
WOW! I must say I just got home from work DL'd the demo and played it for about the last hour. 2K has finally gotten a post game, I mean one that actually works!!!! I love it! I also love the animations and the player models this year. I must say this is the first time in a while from 2K that I feel I am actually getting a "new" basketball game from them.
For anyone still on the fence about the game if you haven't downloaded the demo yet do so..The controls are a lil different than in the past so it took a good 10-15 mins to get used to the new mechanics but they work really well. I already have both 2K11 and Elite pre ordered from Gamestop, I'm thinking I might just get Elite for nba jam then return it after entering the code for Jam, but I'll give that one a try too. BUT 2K11 HAS ME SOLD THIS YEAR JUST FROM A 4 Min DEMO!!!!
A.I. - So far its abysmal. I always do my "take your man off" game where I'll take my PF-5 and move him on the ball handler. Well in the demo, KG didnt care that he was wide open, he just continued running the set play curling back under the hoop and over to the 3PT line, meanwhile Rondo kept dribbling as this happened without attempting a pass.
The A.I. will also do these slow attempts at the rim where theres 3 defenders waiting and they go up and get blocked. Its too easy to time your blocks now because the A.I. doesnt anticipate and seems to lack any offensive awareness.
The A.I is on pro difficulty though, right? Still that seems disappointing since many people are saying how the A.I has a wide open 3 and just decides to go for a layup.
"God awful" "unplayable"??? You're ridiculous......I don't know what you're talking about. I hated the player movement in 2k10 and preferred the player movement of Live. But this DEMO shows the player movement of the 2k series has been completely revised. As a matter of fact, I'd go as far as saying it feels a lot like Live did, which I'm sure has something to do with Mike Wang coming back to 2k. Perhaps you just need some practice with the sticks!
no it's not like live, wish it was then I'd be pretty happy. when i move a certain direction, decide to dribble a certain way, or shot.... well it should happen right then and there, not seconds later. 2k7 had movement great, and every year it just gets worse.

I've seen this, but only on a very small scale. I've left the AI alone plenty of times only to have them take a good shot. It seems hit and miss. As far as KG goes, he's shooting the ball every time I leave him open. Lovin this demo!!! I posted this earlier and was pumped about this, it might be worth another print:
Just played a game and executed a move that had me jump off my chair.....Had Kobe in the post against Allen on the wing, hit the "b" button for a pass fake and (out of the post) Kobe executed a "Jordanesque" ball fake with one hand pump to his right side, Allen bit and I pulled off a fadeaway jumper.....Money! Wish I had that on video. Damn that was sweetness!!!
I'm trying now to replicate the first vid, but as for the 2nd video, to perform that move i back down dribble using both triggers as stated before, then use the left stick to show the direction you want to head, then release the back down buttons, the animation will look almost exactly like arroyo's, just not as swift because well... that would be real life lol
ok...played a few games of the ps3 demo....my initial impressions are that the controls are not that much improved...they are improved, but not drastically from 2k10. I would describe it as a tweaking more than an overhaul.
hey 23 how is the PS3 version holding up in your opinion.
Man I dont have the free time to make a video right now.. Maybe this weekend
PS3 is okay... im not sure what guys are expecting... the graphics are brighter and the players have that white halo like glow on them so the 360 looks more colored saturated which is good for the 360
Sound is awesome on my system for both game systems so thats a wash
AI is the same... very smart.. see some of the same plays being ran like the KG elbow post up
As far as the sound goes guys, in my opinion (wearing Turtle Beaches while playing):
The sound is really good, you can hear the ball bounce every time, compared to 2k10 where it would stop making the dribble noise out of nowhere. You can hear players talking pretty well and the crowd says things every 5 or so seconds that just compliment the overall enjoyment of the game.
One of the Burnout games was developed for PS3 first and looked much better on PS3. It's really all about which system the developers spend most of their time on. For sports games (and most titles), its 360 because of the tight development schedule.
**found this sort of cool**
Hurt Kg's wrist, so he is like wobbling it and it the motion was identical that to of a humans. so he then sat out.
Bynum later hurt Big Baby's bicep or elbow. So he gets subbed out for Kg. Kg comes in holding and rubbing his wrist and after the free throw it shows him again going back to his side holding his wrist, thought that was sort of cool
also im sure this has been said in one of the 800 some comments and has already been answered ---kobe made almost every shot as well as layup.
love the spin back shot artest kobe and fisher each had a different one
Also I dont see the crowd camera cuts in between baskets on the PS3
This happened the first game I played on the first shot I scored (15 foot fade with Kobe) so it's definitely there. It went Phil - crowd- Kobe - gameplay.
