Hey guys...we will be putting out more and more videos as we drive to finish the game. Next week's videos will be direct capture, because these videos look a bit fast when just filmed with a camera in front of a TV. We will also have more gameplay that has not been seen yet...like put backs, more in-air collisions, hook shots, etc. As we get different dev guys playing the game, they each have different styles, so each set of videos will be different. We will focus on the CPU next week also. I will say that until you feel this game with your own hands (when you get the downloadable demo), it will be tough to understand how much control you truly have over the outcome of the game."
I saw this video many times....
and I found a issue...
there are only two referees on the court@@
where the number 3??!!
in live 10 the referee are three and they would move with players
although it's not a big deal for gameplay, why remove this??
sigh!!
I hope next year EA would notice every little things....
it would help the game looked more realistic!!

rEAnimator said they were in the build he played so I guess we'll have to wait on the demo to know for sure..

I found out when I went back to work before my trip that the referee movement was taken out at the last minute to fix a performance problem we were having.
A little embarrassing maybe, but that's the reason.
At least you know there will be no frame rate issues
Maybe something we could patch back in but I don't know for sure so I don't want to make any promises.

Ugh! I was hoping you guys would have it fixed its not goin to ruin my experience with the game but still it being out is weird. I hope you guys can get it patched back in later.

Wow. You're a bigger man than I am because I would have blown a gasket.
I personally feel their goal is to get elite to the status of fifa, halo cod and those types of games..
You're smoking something illegal if you think ANY basketball game would have the reach of a 2 mass market genre games and a soccer game. That just will not happen. Not saying they shouldn't aspire to reach those heights, but don't count on it.

To be honest the only reason i cared was because i knew i'd have to answer to you guys about it. I didn't even notice it in the videos. It will not afect my enjoyment at all while playing. We should definitely fix it, but it's not the end of the world. For me at least.

Agreed. Doesn't affect gameplay, for sure. It's just such a visible change that it'll carry more weight than it really should. You know what I'm saying?

didnt mean number of sales , i meant that online competitive play makes up 90% of the use of the title, in other words if 10 people buy live 11 ..... 9 of them play it online exclusively and 1 plays offline franchise......
So there are really just going to be 2 refs standing there instead of 3 moving? That's not a good workaround at all.
Wow... it seems the closer this game gets to release more and more issues arise. There has always been so much going on with the entire Live series for so long and now. I could finish watching any of the video because they were ALL lacking tremendously and to think... there will only be 2 refs standing... NOT moving isn't a good sign and to think the referee movement was taken out at the last minute to fix a performance problem
There's more than just a performance problem going on here, there's everything from player models, animations, gameplay, physics etc. missing. I don't understand whatever happen to... It's in the game when it's not!
Elite hasn't hit demo status and we have members right here in our community that pay more attention to detail than some game developers themselves and to me that speaks volumes about where Elite is going or should be right now.

Not the end of the world for you is understandable reAnimator but for those gamers who make the choice to purchase Elite and right out the box start noticing things that should already be in game or... was in game but suddenly missing or... broken is the end of the world. Especially in this day and age when $65 buck starts becoming a little harder to come by if you know what I mean.
I know I speak for others when I say... enjoyment matters very much when spending $65 bucks on a video game that still sports an old school NBA LIVE feel and look to it.
Let's stop trying... to explain and let the demo do the talking or... for that matter why not allow Da_Czar to breakdown some team playbooks for us or something?!
Czar broke down playbooks for Live 10. 2K11 is matching what the competition already brought to the table as far as plays.
Plays were good in live 10, in the videos in elite 11, plays seem weird, or at least from what I have seen, I want to see plays run in the physics system, cause the physic aren't visible I'm starting to believe, guess they have to be felt, plays seem weird in the videos
To avoid making a long post of the things I don't like about this vid, all I'm going to say is I did buy NCAA and will buy FIFA from EA. Hopefully, they'll come to their senses and sell Jam separately.

I respected what you were saying in your post until this paragraph.
It's replies like this that are the reason people are hesitant to allow devs to speak openly and honestly in public forums, and why the industry moves more towards "safe" and "pr approved" statements only.
I watched the video once, while out of town on vacation for the sole purpose of answering questions and having a context for the discussions on this forum.
Someone posted that the refs weren't moving which seemed odd to me since when I left for vacation they were. I went back and watched it a second time and it turned out to be true. Didn't notice it the first time.
How that speaks volumes to anything about mine or the rest of the dev teams competence to make a basketball game is beyond me.
Please stop trying to find reasons why Elite is going to suck and just wait for the demo.
I'll be more than happy to have a discussion about tangible issues in the product itself once you've tried it.

Okay, this is where the line is drawn for the posters. Its enough commenting on how competent the guys are, or how they arent working hard, or if you have some type of idea about their job when you dont. Its those kinds of statements that will be met with a ban.

The sensationalist posts are getting tiresome.
With this statement, its like a reminder of why the devs are here in the first place... to interact with the community, not to be a personal bashing tool for those of us who feel as though they are punching bags or whatever.
Its easy enough to disagree with some decisions, explain your point of disagreement, and move on..
I guess in the fray the idea that its an interaction can get lost but please dont forget the devs are VIPs here and people with families and jobs like many of us
