Madden NFL 11 News Post

MyMaddenPad has posted the details of what the "Swagger" rating is all about for Madden NFL 11.

Quote:
"The "Old Spice Swagger" rating determines the likelihood of a player to celebrate on the way to the endzone, or after a touchdown. For example, a running back like Adrian Peterson (99 rating) has a greater tendency to celebrate than Frank Gore (50 rating)."

I like the idea of having this feature.

I guess it's ok, NBA 2K does have an emotion rating as well as personalites (neutral, expressive, emotive, laid back, unpredictable). This is a good step, just hope that it is for more than TD celebrations and leads to stuff like QBs and WRs arguing about not getting the ball enough, maybe even some excessive celebration penalties...maybe that'll be in for M12. But I can see how some would be upset with calling it 'Swagger' and being sponsored, but it is what it is. Money talks. :?

What about that 49ers Cornerback that started highsteppin on the other side of the field when he intercept the ball then he was chased down and fumbled. Will we see any of that?

His swagger rating must be off the charts

It has the potential to be a good feature. Also, I would like to see the swagger rating for coaches as well. A guy like McDaniels, who danced and jumped up and down after an early win as if he won the SB compared to a coach like Mike Tomlin who does a fist pump and barely cracking a smile after actually winning the SB. Just a thought.

Hmm, this seems to have the potential to be a nice little rating. Nothing that important, but nice.

How many years have people said that Marvin Harrison, Barry Sanders, and most quarterbacks don't celebrate in real-life, so why do they in the game? I think if they can have players who never celebrate in real life simply walk back to the sidelines after a big touchdown in Madden 11, it just adds more to the realism.

Again, not pivotal, but sometimes the small little changes are very noticeable when you play the game.

I actually LOVE the players who have a celebration after they make a big play! This is one of the reasons I LOVE Chad Ochocinco!

I loved Rocky Bernard when he would get a sack and would do a shoulder type of dance!

It is almost as good as the Swagger Wagon...

I agree with C, though. After a year off, franchise better just be jaw droppingly amazing, or the poop will hit the fan with their franchisers.
I understand where you are coming from.

My point was that they didn't wait till everyone purchased the game and then said something and it wasn't like last year where there was misinformation here and there.

And as I stated in a later post, they don't come out with info till Feb.(SB time) Would it have made a difference for everyone if they came out with then vs 4 months later?

Maybe, maybe not.

Plus, AJ, one of the CD folks, mentioned that Phil said it would take more than a year to redevelop franchise mode. Does this mean it will be ready by Madden 12 or Madden 13?

It's beginning to make me wonder.
