"I wanted to share something with you. We’ve had to hold back on discussing this for the past couple of weeks but today I can finally tell you that we have been working on a major patch for Backbreaker.
The patch will address many issues and requests raised by the Backbreaker community, so thank you for your valuable input. Further information will follow in good time, but you should be aware that this is something that we are taking seriously and will not be rushing out."
That is a great point about the reflexes. Not sure why the controls aren't similar to a FPS in terms of the analog sticks. It would be great if it played liked a Call of Duty game, while still being in 3rd person of course.
sorry for being a little off topic, but id rather theyd postponed the release and fix the issues, than pass off this half assed effort. and of course patch it.
The game isnt buggy it just has bad AI. At least it isnt like the other game released recently that they had to patch first day due to the demo being full of glitches. They still didnt fix half of them though.
Well to be honest, I much prefer a first day patch over a none day patch. Still waiting.

There is a lot more than bad AI (not to mention bad AI can also produce bugs) and BB also had a day 1 patch for 'minor technical issues' on the 360.
Backbreaker is going to run out of fans on this forum if they insist on all bringing up other games to support their cause.
The number of patches in "that other game" (as people so eloquently like to put it thinking that it means you aren't bringing up Madden) has NOTHING to do with Backbreaker and how it was designed, patched or anything.
I give a dam about madden, im not a madden guy, i just have a problem with BB's developers releasing a game that they knew had gameplay crippling issues..
Every year i get tighter and tighter with my money as far as game purchasing because of crap like this.

You will be happy once the patch releases. Many wil be very happy for being patient, and gving BB a honest look.
I am very interested in what the patch may do, but this is the same team that thought this was a good product to ship, so I am wary of overcompensation on their first patch of their first game, with something like the QB now having 25 seconds to throw in the pocket and DBs that no longer intercept any passes ever, with a statement like 'we couldn't stop them from intercepting the ball so they no longer have hands' akin to the reason facemask penalties are gone (they couldn't stop them from grabbing them so the penalty is gone).
I think most of us will reserve judgement until the patch actually comes and for good reason. It's based off of community feedback, but so was the entire game that we got the day it released. They've been gathering input and data for a long while on their forums, only difference is people have played it now... and while that's the biggest difference possible it's still the same process.
I haven't traded it in, just so that I can try it myself when it finally comes.
i can feel it, backbreaker is going to take it to another level, the release of the game in may was to have the us critique the game and now its time for the true release of the game. this game is going to be the football game that we have all needed and wanted since the start of the next gen.
the new camera angle doesn't need to be as zoomed out as madden, as long as its enough to some kind of peripheral vision it would be good i think.
as it stands now, there is just too much action happening on the field where i don't even know what is going on.
there was a few fumbles, and i didnt even see them, so I didnt even have a chance to go for the ball in a few games..
I have cut back during some runs, only to be clobbered by a defender that was runnng back to me.. i did not even see him because the camera is just too close, and there is no peripheral vision.
They give us this great new shiny physics engine, but you have to play it through a tiny little window.
Bad move on their part to release this game with only that single camera angle. Its just way too restrictive IMO.
At least give an option of zooming out.
I understand the dev's vision and desire to be "different" from Madden, but if you make the game that difficult to just pick up and play, then it will fail miserably in this day and age of ADD.
i also have to call non punt block formations or i get a roughing the kicker every time.
I really hope the patch addresses some or all of these issues, because even the real NFL teams wont matter to me if I am not having fun playing the game.
Ive gotten only a couple roughing the kicker penalties (Yes it is a problem with the AI) but you are vastly overstating it.
It really depends on the teams that are playing, all 3 of my first games in RtBB every punt return (is punt block even in the game, not sure I've looked) I called roughed. Game 4 I started just blocking all of them, if it wasn't going to be realistic I was going to at least have it be in my favor (that's also when I started calling 100% running plays and stopped passing for ~6 games until I got a QB that could do anything meaningful).
It would feel like less of a problem if they correctly awarded a first down, many of the times it happened it would do so on consecutive plays because it was 4th and > 15.
there really needs to be a new replay system so we can see the whole field and rotate the camera so we can get good views of the beauty of this physics engine...
does anyone know if they will put in a new replay system???
It has not been confirmed, but the head developer of 5o5 games did mention in the BB forums that they are fully aware of the fact that gamers want a deeper replay system.
It might be in the patch, but if not it will be in BB2.
It may sound like I am being impatient... But isn't about time we at least find out what the patch will be?? I am going to be in a market for a new football game other then 2k5 on the 360.. I really enjoyed the demo of this game for the most part.. But there are a few things that keep me from buying the game... As others touched on the camera angles is a big thing for me... I would like to see more of the field or at least have a option to " turn my head via one of the sticks.. Or like FPF from 2k, Have a marker so to speak if you are getting chased down from the left, right, or behind where it would rumble as the player gets closer.. Another thing is the penalties roughing the kicker.. Doesn't happen all the time but there are times when I get like 5 of them in a row... I'm not that picky as I can see the future with backbreaker.. But fix some little things and I would be a happy camper... I want to put my new 360s to work Other then that if no football games do it for me, Then I guess I will have to wait until Nhl 11.... I understand that Ncaa is a decent game, But I'm not into the college games... Wierd I know.. But oh well.. Hopefully we get something soon..
Havent heard that either, just some talk more than a month ago about the current camera being tweaked.
People are taking really simple statements like 'i'll have a list of the fixes soon' to mean 'the patch is done and being tested' on the official forums.
