"I wanted to share something with you. We’ve had to hold back on discussing this for the past couple of weeks but today I can finally tell you that we have been working on a major patch for Backbreaker.
The patch will address many issues and requests raised by the Backbreaker community, so thank you for your valuable input. Further information will follow in good time, but you should be aware that this is something that we are taking seriously and will not be rushing out."
The only thing I don't like about the camera from the demo is that I get all turned around on defense when the play happens away from the guy I am controlling. The passing camera I acutally like (although I wouldn't complain if it were pulled back a bit) and the running game is fine.
None given, the lone dev posting on the official forums really only usually replies to suggestions, noting and locking them, leaving everyone to speculate if it's weeks or months out.
No idea of what is really even being covered, there are 5000 posts across close to 700 threads in their Support and Feedback forum that was created a month ago this week. By comparison there are less than 800 threads in the OS Backbreaker forum and it was created in December.
It worked though, because of the announcement I'll probably hold onto my copy and see how the patch pans out, I'd have traded it in next week for a pre-order of NCAA if they had remained silent.

After playing the NCAA demo and realizing the BB trade in value is $14, I developed a little more patience for the BB patch.

For all that locomotion 'big upgrade' talk,I don't see it.EA still has that 'weightless' feel to players. It feels like your gliding them along,'skating'.
With a decent patch(o-line blocking, int's)Backbreakeris is the game I'd rather play.

Yeah, and I wanted to see otherwise. The graphics are kind of "surface nice" (a lot of people think otherwise) but I prefer BB's-the models have more weight to them and are more suited as football players, even if their sleeves don't move.
Once again, my major problem with the demo, is the ease of the passing game . The pinball view is good for accumulating MVP QB stats, but it's not much fun.
EDIT:to your point about BB being the game you want to play I second that. To your reasons (O-Line Blocking, INTs), I would say that as far as the run blocking goes, I wouldn't mess with that too much. It needs work, but I don't want it tweaked too much in the O-Line's favor. I would like to see the O-Line pass blocking tweaked a little more. AND GET THE CPU OFFENSE TO RUN THE BALL AGGRESSIVELY AND EFFECTIVELY.
Man that was quick. Just a few weeks ago when I called I could have gotten 25 bucks(store credit) for this game. If this upcoming patch doesn't solve some of these major issues then it looks like a made a mistake buying this game.
The trade in value is going down fast because no one wants to buy it.
I'd say some people would give it a chance if they knew it existed.
Oh, and one thing about the passing game is there aren't too many short pass plays. Like normally when you get a pass off in this game, you're looking at at least nine yards gained.
That's where there comes this issue with if you mess with the running speed of the players (their 40's are terrible) as well as the run blocking and such, there will be too much offense. Well I'd agree, but as a balancing point you could surely recreate some plays so that there are more short passes that are easier to make and long passes are more difficult.
Also, backing the QB camera up a couple of more clicks would be nice. I wish there was some other form of periphery as well, because I know that if I'm a QB and I'm facing east, even if I'm eyeballing a receiver that's north of me, I can still easily see what's coming east of me. Sometimes I can still see a bit of what's west of me, but this game doesn't really have any sort of way to tell you this. Even threat meters like in ESPN NFL 2K5's FPF feature would be nice, anything that can help you scramble and evade if you need to.
Oh, and scrambling in this game sucks. Just don't do it lol.

Yeah,I meant pass blocking more but through testing with the editor I got the CPU running game to be effective.I did a global edit of -20 for speed and agility for all players except rb's,who I kept the same. They hit the holes faster and can make moves enough on the defense to be effective. You don't want to make your running game too effective though so you have to adjust your teams rating.

Well jump for joy becuase this is a definite
Todd the lead programmer had mentioned in a post that he was trying to decide how high and how wide he should adjust the camera. It was to reference to the passing camera.
Most people have stated in the BB forums that the running camera, and defensive camera are fine, and just the passing camera needs adjusting.

Defensive camera is fine, though I'd much rather that the camera doesn't pan down so that it's flat on the field when we make a tackle. Running camera is fine but needs more "up the field" adjustments. QB camera definitely needs some form of periphery however, as I mentioned earlier. Even if there were threat meters that would be much better. But we also need a cohesive O-Line as well.
