Based on how the demo plays anyway,I have a fairly simple ratings remedy that I think should help several areas.

I believe that the strength ratings for defensive front 7's are around 10 points too high.So if you move DE,DT and LB's down 10 you should see;

the o-line's play better and not allow so many sacks

the running backs gain more positive yardage(not so many run stuffs)

the qb's get a little more time in the pocket which may result in less computer int's thrown

The int problem may also get better with qb's rated a little higher.Indy's qb has pretty high focus but his arm strength could be better.I don't think there's one in the demo in the 90's.DB focus could be bumped down a little as well as long as it doesn't dumb them down too much.

I doubt that everyone uses the same camera option. APF2K8 had the ability to configure your camera, and guys used to post their camera option settings, why they used them, and what advantages/disadvantages the settings provided.

Right now the camera angle is #2 on my problem list. They need to at least provide a configurable option so I can turn off that blur at the end of the play or I can't play the game.

Thanks. Me too. Been looking forward to this game for 3 years now, and had it down as a day 1 buy.

Definitely. That's why I was trying to work with the replays to see how coverage was working. Kind of looked weird, as I constantly saw 5 DBs converge on the vicinity of the receiver when passing. Maybe my pass choices weren't the best (though I never threw an INT), but seeing that many guys by the receiver as the receiver caught the ball looked really strange.

In the 250+ games I own (sorry, no Gamefly, but 80% to 90% bought used on eBay/Amazon/GameStop/GameFly) on the 360/PS3 I have never run across another game that constantly blurred out a major part of the screen in the way that BackBreaker is doing. That says a lot right there. My eyes can't adjust to the blur, and whether I want them to or not, they are going to try to do so. Ever had a thin piece of plastic or metal between your hands and had it wobble back and forth to make noise? I think they use this to produce thunder sounds for plays. That's what my eyes are doing when it blurs. It causes my entire vision to go out of focus until there's something I can finally focus on (either when I look away from the screen or when the next screen comes up).

people need to try out the scourge. I had time in the pocket and had a great running game against Pittsburgh (run stuffing) The only problem is the QB isn't that great, but the rest of the team seems really solid. So PB kept throwing on me and I kept running. Did two games in a row and both went that way ending 7-7

btw I broke another big run (32yrds) ...and it was again the stretch play. With the scourge and Houston, it seems like the old barry sanders or walter payton where you can get losses or break big ones. He is obviously fast and elusive, unlike chicago's rb who is power and can't bust those huge outside runs.

The funny thing is as intense as the game is the biggest rewards come through being patient. on those stretch plays I didn't tough RT until I got the corner and burned up the sideline. up the middle I don't usually press until near the end to lean forward (unless using the FB where I press RT right away and up on the RS).

Another big thing I'll do is wait at the line until the D is settled (this is huge) let's say you have an outside run w/ no WR out in space...you wait until the defence adjusts and brings them in the box, so that you don't have a lone unblocked man out there. Or lets say on side has 2 corners and the other side 1, I'll LB then click LS to flip the play running towards the side with one defender.

these little things have made me able to run the ball - and also on chaotic plays where you feel screwed, making the first guy miss goes a long way to either just getting back to the line or picking up 2-3 yards.

^the Scourge are my best team, offensively. I usually can get into a pretty good rhythm with them...well as much rhythm as you can get in 4 minutes of game time.

Agreed. I also thought that their crowd models were going to be a little more varied but that's jsut me I suppose.

I feel like the hard difficulty is a little too easy. If I don't throw a pick I feel like its over pretty quick. I've only punted the ball once on this demo and that was when I purposely kept trying the toss play. I also noticed that the slot cross is just as effective on this game as it is in Madden. I'm stil renting it though when it comes out. Maybe once I make my own team it will get a little more interesting.

I still wish that I could us RB and LB or something to look over my shoulder when I'm breaking away on a run. That would improve the camera greatly for me.

I like the Talons mostly. After that its the Cougars.

I disagree. Players always seem to fight forward when appropriate. Maybe you aren't using aggressive controls properly. Check out this video just posted:

*fingers crossed*
The team ratings are pretty low. 40 to 70 overall. I seem to recall there are A, B, C, D leagues. Think they gave us D level teams for the demo, and the A rated teams will play better?

Okay, I need help with 2 things. First, how do you lob a pass, and how do you spin? Being trying and can't seem to do it. Thanks for the help.

For the spin, just pull the right stick straight back then rotate it in whichever direction you want to go. you have to time it right or else the defender will read it pretty well unless he dives.

The lob is kind of hit and miss. for me I try to pull the stick back and push forward as fast as possible.

Has anyone just had their QB not throw the ball no matter how many times you press forward on the stick? There's' been a few times that my QB would just hold the ball for no reason no matter how many times I tell him to throw.

One thing that I've been doing to curb computer int's a little is always wait to see how many receivers they're using each play;2 receivers-stay with 4-3 or 3-4,or 3 receivers then only go with the nickel.

I say this because before if they were in 3rd and 16 I'd pick dime automatically or 3rd and 6 I'd pick nickel.I notice they sometimes don't go with a set you'd expect.Extra db's out there really raise the int pct.

Thank God for Demos. I get this game is supposed to be different....but I don't even understand the wow factor everyone is talking about. There is so much more to football than big hits and decent animations (yes, I said decent). Half the time the players look like rag dolls flying around...they remind me of crash test dummies.

The AI on offense is horrendous. I just played a team that three 3 straight backward laterals that turned into fumbles. Controls?...what controls?? Think about all of things you can do in ANY of the recent football games.....this game has like 3 or 4 different things and almost all are to do with your player.....not strategy related. The passing game is just stupid.

(Yes, I realize this is only a demo, but I have to think the basics of game play are there enough to garner a buy/no buy decision).

For me, football is play calling and players making plays. There is nothing better than a play executed to perfection where you can see it open up. More than that, calling plays to setup other plays. That is the strategy of football. Unfortunately, this game is just not made to be able to display that. ....and I get that they are doing a different thing, but its just not for me......Good luck to all....I hope you all do like it and get hours of enjoyment from playing.

I've basically stopped playing the demo. Not cuz I don't like the game. Quite the opposite. LOVE it. But 4 minute games are just...unsatisfying. Not to mention it's frustrating knowing the A.I. will put up a great fight only throught the first quarter and as soon as it hits the second quarter and it goes into it's 2 minute drill, it all goes to hell.

I'm so ready for the retail version lol.

I was unsure of the camera angle when it was announced but I'm loving it now. A bit hard to run but realized its a lot more realistic since you shouldn't be able to see the hole's in the line on the other side of the field lol.

Played practice mode in Madden after playing a lot of Backbreaker (my bro wanted to use normal teams :/) and thats all it took to sell me. Backbreaker is just much better football.

Still getting used to the passing though, I'm throwing a lot of ints...

I only play Tackle Alley now. Like you said, it's unsatisfying to play for that short of time. Only one more week to go, though

Limit it online, or make it so both have to have the same settings. To say it's a disadvantage in multi player is a weak cop out.
In real you have peripheral vision but you act like players are constantly moving their heads from left to right when running. You have to look ahead and only make split second head movements, which I think the game emulates. The majority of tacklers aren't seen by you in real life and again, I think this game emulates that as well.

I have read this thread from the beginning and I see alot of people not giving the game a fair chance which I don't mind because you were more than likely someone I wouldn't have wanted to play anyway. I also see quite a few that have come around after giving the game TIME! Can't stress that enough. The game is hard. I couldn't move the ball at all and thought the running game was too hard. But now I can run and pass fine(hard mode). So give it time.

If it is not for you, then it is not for you. But from my experience, most people that complained about 2k5 were not that football minded in the first place. I would play them and all they wanted to do was stick to money plays and run to the right with their QB. Maybe a REAL football game just isn't for you, thank God for competition, I no longer have to settle for the wolf in sheeps clothing.

After playing the heck out of the demo over the weekend, I am back on the side of buying it Day One.

I think I will be able to have a blast created a team of old teammates, friends, my sons, etc. It will be like a fantasy squad with a crazy physics and possibilities.

The camera is growing on me a bit and it's a nice change of pace.

I may wait until late in the day on June 1 to see if the CPU AI is cleaned up in the retail version. LOL Especially, the CPU thrown INTs. It's so NCAA 08 in that regard.
