I would like to see that also.

Im not defensive, I just see you using 2k as some kind of a crutch for what I just said.

This game needs alot of work and it rests solely on NBA Live and NBA Live alone.

They need to bring back the all star weekend in game modes but better. Like creating custom dunks and stuff.

The link to the NBA 2k10 article doesn't work. It links to the admin section of OS that none of us besides admins can access.

i think ea should put a superstar mode in live and a multi player dynasty

Kg good post,

man everyone here is worried about the same thing

WILL EA'S COMMITMENT to THIS PRODUCT REMAIN STRONG...

thats what needs to stay the commitment to excellence

IMO and no disrespect to the Live team but the DNA crap sucks big time.

I'd start by getting rid of it or either have some of the people actually observe it before releasing the damn product.

I've been highly dissapointed in that feature the last 2 years and it's one of the main reasons I've fallen out of love with the NBA Live series.

You could actually get better gameplay in Live 09 and 10 simply by just allowing the players to function on ratings alone without DNA.

Disagree.

I think DNA is terrific, it needs to be tweaked to allow the CPU to not be such a slave to it...and play more organically.

As it is now, DNA really shines in user vs user games, but causes some issues in single player modes.

And please, people..enough with the Mike Wang thing...its way overblown.

Many here on this forum have stated correctly that there were things in Live 09 that were well done, that were removed from the game this year.

That is precisely why it's need to go IMO

Because it does nothing right for the CPU. I don't care about head to head play because i don't have time or play online much at all.

I'm only worried about how the CPU plays and right now DNA is a mess and it has been a mess for 2 years.

They need to either scrap it or lock 5 guys in a room before dropping the product and have them actually test it for once. I don't they even sit around and observe the players and how they react on the floor...

Playmakers is right. DNA is not working, especially with the current ratings system and lack of player animations per player. Big men taking fadeaways after step back crossovers

This is the biggest flaw of live10, the big man game just isn't right... from post play to fadeaways its just plain horrible

I see what they are doing with ALL their sports franchises WITHOUT even having Mike Wang having even touched them from Madden to the new NCAA 11 to NHL to Fifa. He's not exactly a savior like many of us gave him so much cred for being and it's not like they can't get their sports games together without him.

Live 11 WON'T drop the ball and I expect it to get even more competitive.
do you know why they parted ways? because of the difference in direction they wanted to go

Yeah, the Mike Wang saga is really getting old. "Different direction" could mean many different things, guys. I'm sure EA won't go to arcade style with NBA Jam coming out, them being the first sports game to introduce DNA, which the sole purpose was to get players to play more sim-like and Peter Moore wanting that sim-head experience with every other EA Sports title. We will all see soon enough, what Live has in mind for 2011, I have faith in them continuing to strive for a better basketball experience and build on what has been done over the past few years. When all is said and done, everyone has to admit that it has improved, year after year.

I agree about adding depth to virtually every aspect of the game. Big men need a lot of work, so do rebounds and ball awareness. I'm hoping we can get after it defensively by using a trigger to play tough on-ball defense, sag off, or shade left/right. I personally feel the defense in Live 10 was pretty bad, as we didn't have the ability to dictate how to play our opponent. Intercepting the ball in passing lanes still had a "lag" to it and overall just the awareness on the court needs a tune-up. Anyways, I'm looking forward to what Live has in store this year, it'll be a great game if they fix the known issues many of us have commented on, Live 10 was a pretty decent game honestly.

The whole DNA discussion can be argued on either side. Yes, it plays to the offense too much and the CPU DNA is out of touch with User/User games. I think it's simple to balance out the issues though, make DNA the same defensively, it will provide a nice balance to the game and make it much more rewarding to play with tough defenders and overall the help-side team defense that varies team-by-team.

# 57 Jano @ 05/19/10 04:18 AM
i agree all that all those things listed must stay but the one area Live has got to improve is defensively.

THis game is way behind the times on defense the offense is a little closer to where it should be though in terms of sim gameplay though. The play calling and the general nature of the game is try and play an inside outside game.

Not just finishing in the paint and shooting 3's you also have to use the mid range game too. Defensively tho this game needs a complete overhaul.

We need more counters and ways to stop offensive players in the post, on the perimeter, from the triple threat, etc.

As a defender in this game you are left on an island and you really have no way to truly defend players. You can bother someone but you can stop them consistently if they understand the controls.

Whether its online or against the CPU comes down to who can score the most shots on offense. And defense is kind of left on the back burner b/c its just so hard to do it consistently.

The guys at EA need to bring defense back into the equation. Thats one area I do like about 2K is the options open to you on D.

I feel that if EA can add in some of the options and controls offered on defense in the 2K series to Live we will be in business. Because the whole nature of Live's offensive game is basically sim already.

I think the biggest thing that needs changed is the collision control when driving to the basket. I don't know how many times I have gone to the basket either it being on a fast break against 1 defender, or just driving to the hole where 2 players just collide and you automatically miss.
