This looks just like 10. I don't see any difference. Not what I was hoping for...

This vid really got a mostly negative response, eh? Hehe. Eh, I keep looking at the scrambling/throwing on the move parts of the vid. Those were the best parts as that looked extremely good but then I had to look at that APF2K8 vid SaintsNATION32 posted and I got all emotional. LOL. I hate to go here but I do have to say that it's a shame that 2KSports is no longer in the football game making business, anymore. I'm downloading the APF2K8 demo again. I just need to experience those animations again to wash the taste out of my mouth from this vid. Thx for stirring my soul, SaintsNATION32, and I mean that very sarcastically. Lol

With that said, I truly hope that, as per one of the posters here who claims to have to attended the NCAA 11 CD, the game looks much better than the vid but, again, I have to remind myself, that it's just a vid with an unknown build of the game that was used for the vid.

I think all this is set this way for EA to see who really ready for the game. I mean think about it this vid is bad and EA knew it before they put it out there with no news of it coming. So that tells me we are doing what they knew we would do, And thats flip out because we are wanting this game to be great. What I think they are doing is milking us on the likes and dislikes in the vid so they can fix it and add other stuff in . Ill admit I was also fooled to think this whats to come in the game. Because Think about like this anything they do if done wrong hurts sells, So Im waiting on someone from the team to come with other vid and telling us it was a joke on all us OSers for bashing and judging so soon.So lets hope the joke is on us sooner then later..

Ok...I think we'll get another vid sometime this week like ha we got you. At least that's what I hope.

I don't pretend to know much about designing or developing a game. However, if EA honestly thinks that video was suppose to increase enthusiasm maybe there's a bigger issue at hand.

It's just common sense if 70 to 80 percent of the community finds the video horrible then they have to see what we see. Right? It just doesn't make sense as a strategic marketing move. Why put out such a wac video when the boards were raving about how the game could bring the series back to prominence without a single video prior.

Just my thoughts, but I'd expect gameplay videos to be better than this. Seems like they just wanted to get a video out. Too big of a discrepancy between the good stuff in it and the bad.
I don't know if I really buy into your theory, but one thing you said makes a lot of sense. The fact that there is a lot of inconsistency here is a bit bizarre. I mean, we're being shown the beautiful Brantley slip and the OSU TE "on-a-dime" turning in the same video. The last play with the ND run isn't shabby either. I refuse to get my hopes up again without evidence, but the mixed bag is weird. It bothers me a little bit.

Unrelated, one thing I haven't seen brought up is the identical animation seen by the DL after a thrown ball. You CAN actually see the locomotion there. It's quick but they all do take a step before moving towards the receiver's direction. 2 problems though. 1, they all do so identically, with the exact same "reaction time," if you will; it's like watching synchronized swimming, but on land. Not right. 2, the locomotion that was present there isn't enough. You can see it if yo look close, but it's still too jerky. More time needs to be taken on those pivot steps.

Bottom line, we shouldn't have to watch the video 5+ times to see the locomotion. It should be apparent in every second from the first time we hit the play button.

it looks like one version was playing at normal speed and another moment it was fast speed. well we know there won't be a chat about this video. maybe if so they got some explaining to do one thing though we didn't see any pro tack break tackles . if i remember right alot of times videos are put together before CD and so forth so hopefully this was an older build and they had tweekd this already.

lol...if you actually believe this, then the joke may just be on you sooner than you think.

Jokes aside, I didn't think the video was as awful as some here, but my expectations weren't too high to begin with. That said, to think there will be a huge leap forward from what we saw in that to what we'll see when the game ships is thinking more with your heart than your head IMO.

True, but I am going to take the opinions of the people who attended community day with a grain of salt as well. I remember people who attended community day hyping the game up last year and the year before as well saying how good the game was and look how the game turned out.

In their defense I don't think community day gives people enough time with the game to truly discover a lot of it's faults.

Other than the lighting and player equipment there was basically nothing that looked improved in that video.

the look of the game is better then last year. i seen some new animations it's wasn't all terrible but it wasn't great either therefore it was a good vid.

I just wish the devs would come on here and give us some insight on why they decided to release that awful video.

# 173 mtoo22 @ 04/19/10 11:24 PM
They gave us a video that just didn't live up to the degree of change they stated in the previous blogs, we aren't EA bashers, we are calling them out on broken promises that happened in the only video they have given us so far, we don't have anything to judge this by other than what they've given us...were just holding them accountable.

how would you have felt if madden only had a video debut this week? would you have cared if ncaa didn't?

i remember them saying in the chat that there was a time where they played the game with locomotion and without. i think this video was based off early game play from that time.

About what I expected. A long time ago I realized that the problem with EA's football games has been the engine they made. It just is too weak.

I don't expect anything good to come from this gen's EA football.

I don't expect them to go with that other one, but I hope the next gen gives us players that have to physically plant their feet and account for their balance and momentum on every turn, spin, jump, or whatever. Otherwise, they should trip and stumble over their own feet and fall on their face. If I go crazy and giggle the analog and make the player do all kind of crazy herky jerky stuff, he should lose his balance and fall over.

If you're reading me EA, next gen, start with movement before you even touch making the actual game of football.

Gotta learn to walk before you learn how to run a post corner.

Isn't Community Day the BETA build anyway? (I'm just asking). Someone mentioned that there wasn't any PRO-TAK.....at all !!! Usuallly they show New Features in the first video. I mean I know that wasn't the "sizzle" trailer right? I think it will be playable. Just don't know how playable. After all it is still April guys. Mid -May /June is when I start really looking to see if it's worth it. That's when everything will be out in the open ya feel me?

That's so true. This is still the same engine so we could not have expected too much. Remember Madden redid their engine last year. NCAA 11 said no such thing. Just Pro-Tak.

Firstly, I'm a Madden guy.

But I've watched 2 new videos of 2 different EA games set to come out and I'm a bit concerned.

The vids I watched are the one in this thread and the new EA MMA trailer. What both have in common is there is too much sliding of the feet.

We are well into next gen now and it looks like EA is struggling to cope with real like foot planting physics. How does a foot slide 1 yard before a player takes off on his run?

Watch from the 0:55 mark in the video, before the player takes off from his successful spin he slides just about 1 whole yard! That is just ridiculous. (Btw, that's not the only one in the vid, just the most obvious)

As I said, I'm mostly concerned for Madden. But that's not on from 2 new videos from EA within a space of a few days. I can't believe they even showed that. It's flat out horrible.

On the other hand, besides for the slide of feet it looks ok. But I still saw what looks to be acceleration problems in the locomotion. Early in the video you see a blocker get rid of the defender then he sprints ahead like he is Chris Johnson.

I hope they fix it before release for your guys sake and hopefully for Madden's if it exists there also.

Well I ain't to happy with the video and all. It was decent and all. But I'm not jumping to conclusion right now neither. If videos in late may is still looking like then I would be worried. But until then I'm keeping a open mind about this despite the past.
