The demo is very enjoyable.

I agree that slow is still too fast. I really don't see any speed difference between normal and slow.

Some of the defenders are way too aggressive but that has been a fault on many FIFAs.

I can't wait until this game comes out and I soldify my place as the world's worst FIFA player.

love the graphics. the freedom of the controls are excellent.the pace is picked up which i love. shots have a lot more umph to them best fifa game play to date imo. there are more errant passes by the cpu also .more unpredictablity which is great, more is needed but great to see progress(hope to see more in fifa 11) the defense is more fair you can clear the ball out with power and distance one time clearances are improved. love the directional chest control, overall excellent improvements. hope to see these changes in fifa 11 just a tweak more freedom with the controls and we will be golden.

One thing I did not like is those automatic free kick goals are still in. Meaning if you commit a foul anywhere near the box, it's gonna be a goal nearly every time.

Anyone who has it for both 360 and PS3, care to post the differences?
I tried both the 360 and PS3 versions last night for quite a while.

Firstly, the overall flow of the game feels improved more natural - better close control of the ball if you use slow dribble but still the option of bursting past a player with a flick of the right stick and sprint button. The control feels more polished and the passing a little more varied. Tip go into controller options menu to change the controller from assisted shooting and passing to "semi" or even "manual".

I find the comparisons between the 360 and PS3 versions are exactly the same as Fifa 10 - the game looks a little better on 360 (more solid feeling) slightly better looking textures and a little more polished. Cut scenes are slightly less jerky than on PS3 but still not perfect - some are fine crowd scenes etc. However, the game just controls better on PS3 and I don`t think it is just using a different controller - it feels sharper, more responsive and more fluid.

I felt the same about Fifa 10 - looked better o 360 but felt better on PS3. I usually buy multi-format on 360 Madden / NFL etc as the 360 version usually just shades it graphics wise (on multi-format titles) and personally thought Madden and NHlL were better on 360 having tried both. So no bias here - I just keep the best version on whichever console that is.

Didn`t really want to get the game but the World Cup is such an event and this game does look like it will be very good - Oh Dear !

having just bought Euro 08 for $3.99, I am not inclined to make this a day one
purchase. Maybe when there is a sale.

Meh. Ah yes the EA FIFA cash machine that is their WC editions. I'd be very leery, as all of the World Cup editions have sucked pretty hard since WC 98. Don't fall for the confetti!!!

Holy Jeezus, did anyone else have stuttering with the match intro and horrible slowdown with replays on the PS3 version? Utterly pathetic if they feel this is acceptable in the final release...

I see very little improvement over FIFA 10. But then again it's awfully hard to tell with the two minute match halves they give you in the demo.

Seems smoother on the 360 yet still rather sluggish. Demo build sluggish?

I would have preferred a downloadable mode from with 10 for the World Cup.

Downloaded the PS3 version. Controls feel good. So hard to get a feel with the short half lengths, but like how it feels. Wish we could hack the settings like some PC demos. It did look kind of blah, and I noticed it was in 720p. Not sure if that is just for the demo or if the 360 demo is in 1080p? Kind of disappointing if the PS3 isn't in 1080p.

Will probably download the 360 version as well over the weekend and try to compare. Slow still feels too fast, but the pace does feel a little slower if that makes sense. Hard to tell if the pitch is bigger, maybe a bit. Custodians seem to react better which is good.

Liked that both Italy and Spain each had two different home/away kits.

Hey Bri, the Pro-Cam is in. This game is very good (first impression). I only played the demo for FIFA10 because there were just too many good/great games this year to play.

The game plays smooth and silky on 360. I'll download on the PS3 to compare later today/tonight. It does play a little quick on Normal and I only noticed a very slight difference on Slow. The graphics are very nice. I also the look of the Dynamic I cam with a slight zoom in and lowered height. Great view and it shows off the graphics a bit.

I'm not considering picking this up when it comes out. Speaking of that, when does this game come out? May?

Thanks

Can't say I saw the slowdowns on my PS3 demo.

I am really liking the PS3 demo but the the framerate is pretty rough on the intro and replays at times, hopefully they get that smoothed out a bit for the final release.

Love that camera cuts are back. I loved them in UEFA Euro Cup and for those that don't like it, well you can turn them off this time around. Hopefully they build on this and put them into the next FIFA games.

I'll be getting it, wish it was cheaper but I can't pass on it. Also awesome that they have the horns in there.

I love the demo! It lost 3-0 to Italy but man the atmosphere is great. It feels real.

I pre-ordered this game, the WC/EURO games are always better than the regular Fifa games. I wish this dev team would work on the yearly game.
If anyone wants $20 off any EA game simply sign up for the EA forums/website - they give you a code for $20 for your birthday, simply make an account and put your Bday as tomorrow.

is it me or is the cpu AI more dynamic than past fifa games?

What I mean is, in the past, the defensive mids are very constrained b y their formation and will very very very rarely push up to support an attack. This makes 95 percent of the goal scored by the forwards and AMs. Not how it is in real life.

But in this demo, de rossi already has scored on me and pirlo had a point blank chance.

Maybe I'm just seeing things, but hopefully this ain't an anomaly.

Then you're not looking...LOL!

In all seriousness, the slowdowns during cut-scenes and other presentation type things have been in FIFA for years, even going back to the PS2. Intros, cutaways to managers, panning across the starting lineups - just to name a few - suffer greatly from extremely poor frame rates. What's sad is that one of their highlighted 'features' - people wearing crazy hats in the crowd - suffers too.

The core dev team is the same for both the yearly installments and the Euro/WC games. That's been noted in several interviews/previews for this game.

Played three games on the highest difficulty... The computer controlled team didn't back pass once... Not once... Even when the situation called for it (hey, there's three defenders in front of me, let me see if I can beat them with the dribble instead of passing it back to a teammate... ).

So I guess FIFA is still struggling with that whole... Soccer strategy thing...

Been playing soccer and video game soccer a very long time now and I am loving this demo. Definitely a day one pick up for me. Even the online modes look interesting. Gameplay wise, it may not be "real" soccer, but I think it's as close to the real thing that I've ever played. PES has taken a step in the wrong direction as of late and this is the king in my opinion. I don't see the frame rate issues on the ps3 that other posters are seeing. Maybe a bit when people are dancing in the stands but definitely none on replays.
