I'll use it to "fix" Josh Beckett in the v2 update.

If you have a player whose contract you want to change...without having to drop him and re-sign him to a team.....(thereby changing the teams payroll for that year with a penalty and a re-sign)......
THIS IS PRE-FRANCHISE....
Load the roster
Go to ROSTER CONTROL and drop the player you want to change to the FA list
Swap him right back...
His contract is now changed to a random amount of years(so for Beckett..instead of 1/1...it might be 1/3 or 1/4).....I'm not sure about the dollars...but it is either similar dollar amounts...or they are by his ratings...)
You can do this to try and slow down the trades...and also to try and give teams more "locked up" players without messing up their current payroll for 2010.
Nice find by Heisman316.
Any other players on the v1 OSFM....that have a 1/1 contract that have signed extensions...let me know and I'll change them for v2.
Thanks.

Pre-franchise like in the roster section? Or pre-franchise once you start a franchise before you play any games? Please clarify.

Never mind, I figured it out. You have to place the player on the FA and back out and then go back in and pick him back up. Just got Beckett a 1/5! Thanks fellas!

Thanks for the tip, Knight!

I just thought about this. If you bump up Barry Zito and Vernon Well's ratings and make them "A" overall, then drop them, and sign them again, they'll have the correct contract amount. Then just drop their ratings back to what they were. Should that work?

Yeah, I know you don't want minor leaguers to be out slugging major leaguers, but at least some of the top prospects should have decent ratings. For example, my homer self was disappointed with a few of our (Oakland) top guys' ratings, especially Chris Carter, who has hit almost 70 HR's over the past two years and had 100+ RBI's each of the past two years in the minors. I know it was against lesser pitchers, but power is power

Again, great rosters, can't wait for V.2

Did a thread search and didn't find the name "Trumbo" so here's another edit:

According to the Salt Lake Bees (Angels AAA affiliate) box scores and roster, Mark Trumbo is playing 1B primary position, RF secondary and is 6'4" 220 lbs.

Please someone make Jason heyward batting stance Buster posey cause the one seleceted is a terrible match and only picked for the bat movement.

We all understand but the thing is if your going through the trouble on appearance for say Chris Carter and rotating a guy for a potential match then your not wasting but 2 seconds more to make his bat a bat and not a nerf toy...

all good though anything is better then me adjusting rosters and waiting on SCEA.

I meant share your PS3 with your son! I was being glib.

And I don't think you'll be able to convert these to PS2, no matter what you do. The save files are too different.

Ok its late , so no offense meant. Knight and these guys are the roster makers, if you dont agree with a rating... change it yourself....you dont see a player that no one will ever see in a major league game except maybe if is at the concession stand...you add him. Its one thing to have input and there it is another to be ungrateful. I dont mean it to the guys that just honestly love these rosters, and i dont mean to be rude, just sayin.

What also needs to be looked at farm power/contact for older guys. Frankly, i think almost everyone on AAA is 10 low but as you can see below its alot of lower 30 power for guys hitting 15-30 homers in AAA. Most of these are not young superstars that need lower ratings for progression reasons. These are the next level of hitters below the pros.

Most the SCEA guys are very low as well but i assume that because SCEA tends to go straight pro stats. You could do the same thing for average too.

Here are the International leaders last year for homers.

Shelly Duncan- SCEA guy- 30 homers
Andy Tracy 32-32 for power- 26 homers in real life
Chris Richard- SCEA guy but listed 25-25 for power- 24 homers
Mike Hessman- didn't see on roster but should be Met
Kevin Barker- didn't see on roster- Mexican league
Justin Huber- 31-33 power- 22 homers
Michael Restovich- didn't see on rosters but would be Dodger
Juan Miranda- SCEA guy who again had 25-25 power
Seth Bynum- 45-43 power- 19 homers
Marte and LaPorta- SCEA guys
Brad Elred- didn't see on roster- should be on Rockies- 17 homers
Josh Kroeger- 38-33 power- 17 homers
Wes Bankston- 34-34 power -17 homers
Wilkin Ramierez- SCEA guy- 17 homers

Pac Coast
Mitch Jones- SCEA guy- 35 homers
Sean Rodriquez- SCEA guy- 29 homers
Allen Craig- 47-53 power- 26 homers- this is ok i suppose
Terry Evans- 27-27 power- 26 homers- but SCEA guy
Bryan LaHair- 35-39 power- 26 homers
Randy Ruiz- SCEA guy- 25 homers- ironically he is way high
Matt Carson- 25-25 power- 25 homers
Katin and Kohansky- 30's for power- 24 homers- i had change these already on my file
Cory Aldridge- 33-29 for power- 22 homers
Brandon Wood- SCEA guy
John Bowker- SCEA guy
Prentice Redman- didn't see on roster- should be on LA
JP Arencibia- 32-36 power- 21 homers
Scott Thorman- 37-33 power- 20 homers

I hope this helps or at least show why i believe these types should be raised. I used minorleaguebaseball.com to find this information.
