NBA Live 10 News Post

The second patch for NBA Live 10 is now available for 360 and PS3 owners. Please post your impressions here.

This quote from blackflash83, NBA Live Community Manager.

Quote:
"The second title update will address a lot of the bugs that came from the first update as well as address the three point issue that has been plaguing online play. The online fatigue issue will also be fixed as well.

It will also look to address some of the freezing issues that some of you have run into as well."
EDIT: Adding what the patch addresses:

-Addressed goaltending issue to ensure that when a goaltending foul is received while blocking a dunk that the correct points are allocated.
-Addressed an issue ensuring that Ranked Online match forced to have fatigue set on.
-Fine tuned 3 point % completion rates to reduce the likelihood of successes to more realistic values
-Addressed an Injury Removal issue, where adding inured players to the starting lineup and attempting to sub them off was unsuccessful.

With the three point issue, the team worked to make the three point percentage more realistic based on tuning the shot release, defender proximity, player skill and distance from the basket. This was a key issue that the community asked be addressed and the development team took the extra time to ensure that three point shooting is more realistic.

The point is that in the future, if cheesers are still doing cheesy things online that those things should be addressed, bottomline. None of that don't cater to online players stuff. The developers should cater to both online and offline players period.

Allright absolutely aggree on what you said in future editions. But with the latest update i believe(eventhough i didn't have update on my console by the way it's my turn to whine a little why why we ps3 users have to wait why kidding ofcourse) this game is the best you can get for a good online bball game, it's actually pretty pretty good.

bls start your own thread... because I wasnt even talking about that, and this thread has nothing to do with your post considering you not once mentioned what was improved in the patch.

Patch only fellas

I would like to know if anything has been done to improve dynasty mode, anything any news anyone?

If I didn't know better i'd think I just saw a dunked on animation. I'm playing rewind of Sixers v. Nuggets and a quarter in i've noticed that the fast breaks feel more open and the steal button is more responsive. I'm just happy I can turn replays back on now that the freezing is fixed.

The bug where the quick sub starting lineup is the same as the current lineup is still there. Should have fixed that. Not sure why some of you keep posting as though this was going to be adding stuff. An official list/blog would be nice so we know for sure.

I didn't know you could turn replays off, where in the menu is that option?

.
Hey thanks for the info on the steals button, anybody know if they fixed the end of the quarter highlights....(music not playing for every quarter on PS3 ) Also are the alley oops still awkward when you try to throw them ...most times my tries go the the man on the other side of the court most times....(crazy ...!!! lol) and last thing that I want to know is did they fix the way some players rebound? it looks like the angle of the rebounding is off at times...(like you're holding a rag doll and just moving it across the screen to get the rebound.....sorry fellas best way that I can describe it right now..lol)

I'm playing that game right now and the Nuggets rotation is horrible. Pre-update Ty Lawson was getting playing time. Now Anthony Carter is backing up Chauncey even though he's gotten DNPs for a few games. Same with Balkman. And JR comes in at the very first dead ball so Afflalo gets no run. Outside of that I can't honestly say I notice a difference. Hmm. Only one game though. We'll see.

Can anyone tell me if the autosubbing on teamplay has been fixed?

Well subs are always going to be bad in Live 10, they don't have any real rotation setup. Afflalo played a bunch in my game but there was alot of Carter at the 1 and Chauncey/JR/Arron at the 2. Lawson didn't come in until garbage time.

The steal button might've just been placebo. I just had the best feeling steal early in the game but i (not my teammates but the player i was controlling) wasn't able to have much success deflecting/intercepting passes so i'd say its the same.

Quick question : what size is the patch?

Generally...big = lots of new stuff...small = hardly anything.

So, is it a 250 mb beast like 2Ks patch...or a 10 MB "glitches only" type patch?

Very surprised EA hasn't released a list of what the patch fixes unless that tidbit from Blackflash was all there is?

Better question.....Can the DEVELOPERS who made the patch and took the time to let us know the patch is out, please provide a list of what issues have been addressed? It can't possibly be such a long list that it takes more than 10 minutes to comprise, can it? In any event, thanks for even getting another patch.

That's not true. I'm a PS3 owner and played a game against the nuggets where Ty Lawson was out of the rotation. Same thing with the situation regarding Affalo and Balkman. So I doubt the patch had any affiliation with it.

I know we dont like looking for cheesers so can someone test this offline by trying it out yourself?

Has the CLEAR PATH FOUL been implemented in this patch ?
I am hesitant in saying the 3 point cheese has been fixed. I've played one game online and my opponent was some clown who was repeatedly successful in nailing 3's with Steve Nash, STILL. From the corner, from the top of the arc, from everywhere.

In addition to that, his cheesing was at an all time high, abusing the pick and roll with Amare and using full court d the whole game and attempting to draw the offensive foul every play. IMO, aside from taking the developers word that the overtime problem was fixed, I just didn't notice ANY differences between yesterdays pre patch and todays post patch.

Shockingly, when I had "the nerve" to message him about why he was trying to draw the charge everytime...of course he puts his mic on and started cursing me like the immature prick he is. I love the online experience!!!!

I don't want to sound too negative here...but I am kind of surprised they supposedly spent two months to fix a few glitches.

2K basically said with their patch "here's 250 mb of gameplay added"

EA's first patch basically screwed up the game and added very little. Their second basically fixed the things patch 1 screwed up

I am the same as you Dave, I try and support the series but this stuff just makes you realise exactly why one game sells a million copies and the other one hardly sells.
Wow, that's kinda lame. Oh well, I guess we'll wait til next year for that stuff. Feels like the same story every year. I have the ps3 version (black friday special) and was looking forward to the patch but, this is just dissapointing news. Anyway, I still have the other game so until next year EA... I guess...

So when YOU created your NBA game how did you release it with no issues??? Oh wait you dont make videogames so how can you sit there and say you are surprised that it took this long? By fixing one thing may cause another issue to pop up, you have to make sure other issues do not arise from fixing one or 2 issues. But dont worry guys the business model in about 3 years will dictate Live 1 year then 2k the next, then everyone will be happy with a 2 year development cycle....Then no more problems. Every sports games have issues..We got to get use to it..

I really really hope this 3point glitch it fixed. Wang has somewhat ruined the game I think. 09 was cool. Just need animations. 09 with animations and improved graphics would have been a beautiful thing! Please more people who have the game....is the 3point glitch fixed??

# 58 videobastard @ 12/08/09 08:32 PM
Played a couple of games vs cpu and did not notice anything different except for the cpu guards not doing that fade away 3 point glitch animation.

# 59 23 @ 12/08/09 08:46 PM
I wish there were more animations so the CPU wouldnt have to keep forcing the ones there like

# 60 sportskid84 @ 12/08/09 09:04 PM
Yeah I think I will trade mines in for 2k
