Madden 2010 News Post

Check out the Madden NFL 10 blog, which talks about the preliminary details of the 2nd title update.

Quote:
"In this second title update we focused on some of the more debated topics from our loyal and passionate fan base. We appreciate all the feedback so please keep it coming! In this update you will be happy to hear that we have tuned our Flat Zone assignments to cover the flats more effectively. Defenders will not chuck a WR if another receiver is running a route towards their zone. This will help the defender be in better position to react to a quickly throw flat route and allow him to make a play. The flat zone defenders will also play the ball better if a pass is thrown behind the line of scrimmage as well as taking better pursuit angles after the catch to prevent the ball carrier from being able to get around the corner. This has been one of the top complaints that we have heard about and realized it was definitely something that we needed to address."

I completely understand this and agree, but they need to bite the bullet and do this one year (this year would have been nice). If the could have released this game a month or more later to include everything that had to be patched, they could focus the entire next twelve months on Madden 11 instead of sharing some, even a little big of M11 time fixing M10.

I mean it seems like they break something to try to fix something something else. I can just see super human CB's who are covering the WR then warp to the flats. We already have 6'6" WR's who cant jump because of "rocket catch". If they want to Fix the Online game have someone like a moderator for these games. I do not understand why the whole game is changed just for the online play. I could care less about playing online.

I agree with some of guys in here, you have to fix the gameplay offline before you can fix the online,I mean I just can care less about the online aspect

Can you even imagine if they were to do that. People get mad when the games don't drop before the pre-season, could you imagine what people would do if the game didn't drop until week 6!!!!

Ive been thinking this for the last five years. My madden has been sitting there since the preseason. I dont really understand how people play the game when they know a patch is coming out.

Actually, I can remember when Madden didn't come out until the middle of November. Think that was back in the Genesis days. I remember picking up Madden '95 on like November 15th.

"Rarings" fixed.

With the extreme budget that the Madden team have, these sort of problems shouldn't have come to surface, and it started with '09. Now, Ian and his "team" of "devs" should have seen these problems and at least come out and said "We are trying to fix the morph and tim shift tackling and robo-QB and OL/DL interactions and WR/DB interactions and spin catch". Then came back to use with the results, instead they throw in a few "upgrade" to the presentation, do some garbage **** with the engine, which we have come to know as PRO-TAK, and update the rosters, constantly.

But no. Which means we suffer through another football season with some suck-***, slack job, piece of **** referred to as Madden '10.

Why do you waste your time on these boards if you obviously can't stand the game?

You obviously don't have any faith in Ian or the devs to fix anything so complaining is getting nowhere right?

Seems you've made your mind up.

Yes. We were told they were in the current game. Ian specifically said he knew this based off playing a undefeated team and the crowd chanting "over-rated".

Then when pressed about specific chants he said he would look into it.

Most of us assumed it would be included in the patch at a high priority but it appears to not be so far.

Remember Madden's past when we'd get one patch, MAYBE?

We're getting big issues fixed in October/November...that's something we haven't seen before. Remember when David Ortiz ran the Madden team????

It sucks the game had some bug/glitch issues, but at least they are committed to fixing them and making us happy.

What would you guys that are being overly critical prefer, that they just never bothered to fix anything? I can't believe people are being critical of them for trying to fix issues. EVERY game ships with bugs/glitches. Not every game gets them fixed.

Do you want to ENCOURAGE or DISCOURAGE the current development teams attempts to fix the games bugs? Geez.

Remember the reaaaaaally good old days of Madden SNES when you could just run halfback toss with Thurman Thomas all day long and the computer couldn't do anything to stop you?

Shoot for opening day or the week before...nobody cares about preseason anyway...not even the players

I'm surprised that a week later we haven't seen a definitive list. I was thinking after the pre-lim details they'd firm some of this stuff up after 2-3 days.

Yeah, I remember those days as well.

I still can't figure out why you guys don't rent before you buy if you have expectations that it won't be playable. Either $60 means something to you or it doesn't. Pick one.

And if you got the game as a gift and are still complaining... go away.

Can somebody answer this please....despite the flaws I am having reasonable fun with my franchise, Will I have to restart it once the new patch drops?

It's impossible to say without a specific list of franchise fixes, etc. Normally, no, you don't have to, but it has happened in the past.

I think I'm going to wait to start my new Raiders franchise after the patch
