Gamers can now control every movement as they break down a defender on the perimeter, drive to the basket, and finish at the basket using their left or right hand. From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA LIVE 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA LIVE 10 also features significant improvements in the franchises overall presentation. Arena specific lighting and crowd behaviors, signature pre-game rituals and celebrations, evolving storylines, and an all new broadcast package are just some of the many enhancements that will ensure that NBA LIVE 10 looks and sounds like a real life NBA game.

Wow, I think some of you are praising it a bit too much. By reading the comments you would think its the best bball game ever.

I downloaded it and played three games and also spent some time in the hangar. Overall EA really improved and finally delivered a playable bball game. The Crow Atmosphere is definitely one of the best i've seen. The graphics are pretty good but visuals has never really been a problem. I think the graphics are much improved. One thing that still annoys me is that the player movement still looks a bit robotic. I still get that cartoonish feel from the game, it doesn't seem fluid to me. I owned both live and 2k last year and leaned towards 2k. I think most live fans will be satisfied this year and wont revert to buying 2k on top of live but i also dont think live is good enough to make a 2k player switch over to live. Some of you are comparing the live demo to the combine and thats pretty much unfair since the combine isn't exactly a demo of the final product or in game action. Overall i would predict that instead of getting 6 out of 10 or 6.5 out of 10 in reviews this year, i would assume live will get 7.5 - 8.0 out of 10 ratings but i think next year, live really needs to develop new player models.

Man, I'm loving this. mad can't get a full game in lol.

Bynum just got an illegal screen on me, thought that was pretty cool.

Like how you can take the crowd right out of the game.

Also, Shard is nice on here.

Da Czar was right... Live IS back!

Impressions... I think they just set a new standard in bball gaming.

So smooth, such control.

My first wow moment was and Kobe/Pau screen... finished off with "a gorgeous move... by Kobe Bryant."

...and when Marv says "a gorgeous move" he's tellin' the truth.

...and to think the demo isn't even the finished product.

I an unashamedly in love with this game...

Ahh... Ladies and gentlemen! I think LIVE is back.

I got up an hour early so I could at least DL the demo. While I got dressed for work I started reading impressions on my iPhone. I started getting so overly excited that I had to call in and say I was going to be an hour late.

Anyway, The graphics are amazing. The player faces are spot on and the into the hanger was great. Seeing LJames, arms raised high like "I'm hear" let's get it started is great.

Getting used to all the players in there can take up most of your time. There is a learning curve to this years game. It's not 09 by any means. Which is a good thing and bad thing.

It's only a bad thing because I'm so used to playing Live 09 and the controls and player movement is very different. But, different in a good more realistic way. Shooting is amazing. Being able to hold and then release or a quick pop is really done well.

Driving hard to the paint and pulling up felt so natural it was very impressive. I've seen a couple post were guys are having a hard time pulling up in the paint without doing a lay up. I haven't had any issues with it, just let off the L stick before pushing the X button to shoot. It works for me.

The difference between each player is so amazingly done it's sick. LJames feels more heavy and his moves are more drawn out. Whereas Kobe is quick and silkly smooth.

I haven't gotten out of the hanger to actually play a game so I can't comment on that. I had to go into work and forgot to pick up dry cleaning so I've ruined part of my day to play a demo of a video game.

You wouldn't tell that I'm 34 and getting ready to be married can you? Haha... I love being a grown up...

Man, this demo is off the hook. I am just having so much fun in the Hangar. Then, when I get to the real game.... it BLOWS me away. Wow, this is definitely looking waaayy better than the previous versions, and it plays so "smooth".

Also, I don't know about y'all but... I'm lovin' that organ. I visited the Staples center for the first time back in April and hearing that was so reminiscent. Sounds so authentic and sweet and I'm not even a Laker fan lol.

It is the finished product, all demos usually are the finished product minus a few tweaks, sorry had to comment on this, people make the same comment every year.

I dont know about them setting a new standard though, i think they definitely set a new standard in Nba live next gen bball but not bball gaming in general. I already put in my preorder for nba 2k but i might purchase live also, i'll probably rent it before i buy it just to be sure.

I agree on the organ, i think its definitely something most bball games lack. Its such a small thing but it brings autenticity. I just wish Marv was better in his announcing delivery.

playing this demo and the nba 2k combine has help me to see how stale the 2K series has become for me. may try Live this year.

-Every time I try to pass to someone with icon passing, I switch to that player. I don't want to do all that, I just want to pass him the ball

-You can't body up on a defender like you could in Live 09... don't know why, it was a great animation and feature

-Like I feared, it's hard to pull up for a short stop-and-pop fadeaway jumper right outside the paint-- you end up shooting a layup instead

-Every time I tried to call for an iso, I ended up doing so and then immediately throwing an alley-oop

Not to mention the fact that I wasn't feeling the player likenesses at all-- don't look like themselves in the face IMO. The crowd is good, though... but I hated the music, ugh...

I had more fun in the hangar than in the actual 5-on-5 tbh.

Now go ahead. Flame me, make fun of me, all because I didn't enjoy the demo.
No flaming...thanks for the honest opinion. Every game isn't for everyone...right?

Demos are usually 90% or 95% of the finished product. If you had to put a number on it, minor tweaks and such still take place.

Wow i guess this isn't the place to find honest or fair opinions. So you drew your conclusion from playing the combine? So the 2k Series is stale because they tried to add a new add on feature that incorporates to the new My player mode? No doubt Live is improved but if you bash 2k, use better arguments and at least compare apples to apples. You're comparing an add on game thats a draft combine/practic, to in game action of nba teams.

This is your opinion and everyone has one. If that's the way he feels why would you dis his opinion. Just like yours, you prefer 2K bball so what give someone the right to tell you that Live is better?

Thanks for your impressions of the game so far.

Hi LIVE fans! Well, the long wait is almost coming to an end. You’re finally going to get a small taste of the new and improved version of Live via the NBA LIVE 10 demo. Sorry, PS3 users, you’ll just have to wait a little bit longer - but don’t worry, the demo will be hitting PSN next week. So before the downloading begins, we thought it would be good to let you know what to expect, give you a controller config, and quick rundown of the new gameplay features.

The demo will be 2 quarters of play (4 minutes each) using the Orlando Magic at LA Lakers. You’ll also have access to the new hangar environment when you boot up the game. Here, you can try out some of the new dribble moves and get a feel for all the new shot controls as well. Press the A (Cross) button to cycle through the different players and try out different signature shots. It’s also helpful to just locomote around with different players to get a feel for how the different players move, as each individual in the league will have a unique feel/momentum based on their agility, weight, ball handling ability, and other factors. Keep an eye on the hint boxes in the lower right hand corner as you shoot around in the hangar as well as they’ll give you valuable tips on how to be successful in this year’s game.

When you finally jump into the game, make sure you check out the various game settings to personalize the game to your taste and style of play. And remember the difficulty levels we discussed a few weeks back:

Rookie = for kids and beginners
Pro = for casual fans, pick up and play (lots of dunks)
All-Star = for the hardcore sim gamers
Superstar = for the ultra-hardcore

Also, check out the new throwback jerseys and atmosphere settings…they really add a lot of life and variation to the game.

Lastly, I just wanted to throw out a few caveats. Remember, this is NOT the final product that you’ll be getting on October 6th. Because of the timing of our development schedule, we have to branch our codebase for the demo quite early. So you guys may experience some odd glitches from time to time that we’ve already ironed out for the full game. Either way, we really look forward to reading your feedback on the demo – both good and bad. And if there are things that you’d like to see changed, please let us know. We’ve probably either already taken care of it or we’ll do our best to address any problems you might have via a patch. Also, because of demo size limitations, several features within the game are trimmed down to make it slimmer. Audio/commentary is probably the most noticeable area that gets affected.

Well, that’s about it. Hope you guys have a great time with the demo. But again, please remember that the purpose of it is just to give you a small taste of the improvements made to this year’s game. You won’t get the full picture of the great work the Live team has done this cycle without experiencing the full version of the game on Oct. 6th. All the player/team differentiation, Dynamic DNA all year long, and new game modes (including the most engaging online experience I’ve ever played) are just some of the things to look forward to next month.

Very true, thats why it annoys me when someone posts impressions and then says "and its not even the finished product yet." The only tweaks made are to correct hiccups or bugs in the game. The visuals and presentation are pretty much what you see.

did you see that I said it has become stale FOR ME? I hardly played 2K9 after a few weeks. I've gotten too old to worry about what someone else thinks about a game and too damn old to be arguing with someone about my opinion on a game. It's MY personal preference. Later.

Again, why are trying to dismiss someone elses opinion. Not one person is stating fact here. Everything here is someone elses opinion. Not everyone is going to agree with them. You are one of those people. So again I ask you. What gives you the right to bash someone elses opinion?

i feel like this is the game that every live fan has been waiting for. Good job to the developers and everyone else who were involved in making this game a certain success. Now imagine what live 11 will look like.
