P.S : Marion's celebration was extremely authentic and spot on, including his little scoop shot. Great work on the personalized celebrations.
Classic 2K gamer post. I don't mean you are some ride or die 2K guy but I think you have played it so much that now you can't look at anything else the same way.

When it comes down to it I think we all prefer one game over the other. We are all basketball fans here but I think that each game just does things a certain way.

And we just prefer it to look or sound that way. I for one am more excited for Live not just because it looks like it improved but because Live just appeals to me more.

Deep down while I do like 2K if Live plays a great game of ball I know I will be playing it more. Just for the simple fact that I like the way live works versus 2K.

And I know that this is something that will not change. Just look at Madden some people were really hyped for the game but were disappointed once they got their hands on it because they forgot it was still Madden.

A game can improve all it wants but if the core mechanics don't appeal to you the game itself wont either. And this can even effect the way people look at player models or animations because every game has its own style.

You probably already know this but it was more of an explanation for why people seem so excited for Live this year.

This is a perfect example of the style differences in Live and 2K. In 2K "signature moves" is the name of the game. While in Live its more about just making things authentic basketball wise.

Like athletic players such as Lebron moving with speed and power or quick players like CP3 moving like an eel through traffic.

Not many player specific animations but ones that would represent how they play is how Live seems to work imo.

This can make a huge difference in the way people look at a game no matter how much of a fan of basketball they are. Sometimes we just can't get past these things no matter how insignificant they can look in other people's eyes.

Great post Jano. 2k gives you a felling you are watching real NBA game, while live gets you more of a feeling you play NBA game. I hope they improve that (2k), if they don't, I will rather play the game than watch it. This two games are the same as two girls, one is just good looking and has great personality and all, the other is miss world but frigid and a little dumb.

Yeah it's not player specific, meaning I've seen other players do that in Live 09 numerous times. That's what I was talking about.

You haven't played 09. What are you talking about? What research would you like me to do?

Nice video but I can't shake this feeling like we've been hyped up like this before only to be disappointed come release time.

Looks great! That's the beauty of competition. Can't wait to try both demos and decide which game to get.

Just so you guys know, the rim sound is recorded from actual NBA games. I know what you're saying, just making sure you know this.

Looks great. The animations seem to look better than anything I've seen/played from Live. It may be a hard choice this year between Live and 2K.

Holy ****! I love how this game is shaping up...

On another note, I love how each stadium has it's own unique feel to it. Also the crowds look insane.

Yea but are the sounds from the video from the actual NBA Live 10 game? I know when you guys do trailers you often add sound effects. I think this was done in the 1st trailer as well.

Shakedown ? I think they showed that just to show that the big man size up is different. Not that cpu horford should and even will do that move against us. The thing is as a video game they have to allow a user to size up (maybe different animation) if they want to. and to account for that at least he isn't doing the lebron joint...

So I agree i don't want to see horford sizing me up with 4 behind the back dribbles but as a users however uswise it may be I should be allowed to attempt a size up with everyplayer and then face the consequences if for instance I 'm playing you and you strip horford eveytime down = lesson learned.

yeah but they didn't have someone we believed in doing the gameplay in previous years. Also they have taken steps not to start the hype train as early as last year. remember the big splash with dna at E3 ? this year they weren't even there.

From 06-09 in live next gen hardcore hoop heads were not excited about what live might bring to the table. You have guys that really understand the nuts and bolts of the game actually impressed with some of the things they have done so far.

True we won't really know until we get our hands on it. But to me Live has never looked as good in every area of the game as they do this year.

One of the biggest issues is how the game moves. while not everyone was completely happy with this footage you don't hear the overwhelming cry or concern (as in live 06-09) about all of their animations. right now it just marion's and a few folks feel something else is off.

At every turn the live team is saying don't get overhyped. that is completely opposite of lives past position before they had to get you to buy the game before too many other people can tell you the game is broken. Now they want you to play it because they believe the gameplay can sell itself.

Watching the vid again, man when they showed Rose sizing up in Live 09 then transition to 10...the difference is like night and day.

Amazing improvements in the arena, crowd, player models, animations..HUGE leap so far from 09.

watching the vid again for about the 10th time today.lol

# 199 RayAllen20 @ 08/08/09 09:28 AM
huge question for me steph.....will the size up move be added to DNA so that we know how much Kobe or LeBron sizes up his man. Or that way we dont see Yao sizing up his man ever. It would also be great to see an idiot big man like Zach Randolph or Al Harrington trying to sizeup their defender and getting the ball stolen a lot.

If this isnt true, I just want confirmation that we wont see the bigs sizing up often.

# 200 WaddupCouzin @ 08/08/09 09:35 AM
For the sake of all Live Gamers, I hope it lives up to the Hype. Diving for balls and Size Up moves is more Evolutionary than Revolutionary (For Live anyway). They've already been done in other games, so I really don't see the, "It's a Wrap" sentiment is coming from???
