NBA Live 10 News Post

EA has posted another NBA Live 10 blog, this one featuring presentation.

"With still a few months until the game ships, the NBA LIVE 10 team is starting to pick up the pace and sharing more with the community. Is it enough? Is it ever enough??? Like you, I want to hear it all! Well, from what I'm being told there is a lot of great stuff that LIVE fans should be excited about and all the producers are on board with sharing their hard work with all of you from now until the game ships. This week, Presentation Producer Matt Lafreniere shares his thoughts on some of the new ways the team has enhanced the look and sound of the game.

I was going to start this thing off by posting some screenshots of a couple other pre-game rituals we have in the game this year, as I know there’s some speculation as to what ones we have other than the Dwight shimmy and the LeBron and KG chalk-ups. But, instead I’ll be showing some of these in a presentation/visuals video sometime next week. What a weak way to start out a blog, huh?"

EA is doing it !! My boy Nelson is looking realistic with VC & Lewis. Gotta give to you guys. Man does anybody want to see Birdman?? That's one player you gotta see in-game.

I was VERY surprised to hear that very obscure, non-basketball-related stuff like the Free Pizza announcement in the Air Canada Centre made it into the game. That's almost TOO MUCH attention to detail. I like what I'm hearing about this year's game, all this news about authenticity and immersion is amazing to hear, but hopefully it'll play much better than it did in years past to boot.

Thanks for the blog, another great one!

I'm so glad that Live is going 2k's direction as well in terms of replicating tv broadcasts when it comes to presentation.

Signature reactions..? Interested to see what those could be..

Quick question Marcus, how about during timeouts, no cutscenes also?

There is nothing wrong with "canned" cut scenes..i dont agree with the Live Team taking them completely out..just use them in the "correct" situations, timeouts, before tip off,etc...although im STOKED that they are evolving the presentation by going "realtime" with cutscenes, player celebrations,etc..

I understand the "flow" is important in bball...i suppose a football game can get by with "canned" cutscenes as there is more pauses in the game..bball is a pretty nonstop pace...so i understand opting for real time cutscene animations rather then "canned" cut scenes but i dont agree with completely taking them out...Live team just needs to use them in the correct spots.

Im really happy to see that sports games are taking a bigger approach to presentation ..finally, It was very weird seeing NFL2k5 being the only game for years after it launched with really the only real good presentation in a sports game...now days it seems dev's are finally seeing the "light" lol ...it makes playing the game so much more exciting..as simple as it may seem..it does wonders for a "sports" game.

Ea stated they were fixing the cracks in the foundation to build on a better game for years to come. So that is mean also in the audio area too because realistic crowds and arena sounds are just as important as the way they run, rebound, shoot, and ect. They are both needed to work in sync together. But im in the same boat gameplay is first but dont ignore the essence or the nba that is the fans, sounds, and music.

I'm pretty sure they still have some cutscenes. The Dwight Howard pregame ritual definitely looked like a cutscene.

That blog sounded promising. Presentation is a big thing for me, so it's nice to hear EA's working on the authenticity and immersion of the game. Good stuff.
Man I swear I will buy a 42" lcd (bye bye my 32") in october just to play live, cuz this is a piece of art you need to play it IN THE OPTIMAL CONDITIONS

Hopefully EA decides to let Live 10 output in 1080p this year!
Then I can bask in the graphically goodness
