A couple of updates for this thread.

1) I'm asking around internally to get an update on the code situation. I should be able to find out tomorrow when the codes are supposed to go out. Whenever GS decides to actually execute is a different story...

2) The demo on 7/30 (the non-GS version) is actually 1 minute quarters. Not exactly sure where the 2 minute thing came from but wanted to clarify either way.

Hope you all enjoy the game.

Phil

Someone needs to upload the Gamestop exclusive demo for ps3 up on filefront or a torrent site, for those who can't get it.

I would, except I live in Aus and GS is still EBGAMES.

But if I buy Madden 10 ($100AUD) I get $25 off my next EA '10 game.

No kidding. I don't see the harm in 1 full game between 2 set teams in every sport demo the norm. I seriously doubt there would be people avoiding purchasing the new game because of this. How many people would really not buy Madden since they could just play Ari vs Pit exhibition games.

Non sports betas have expiration dates.. that seems like a logical alternative.

Its a demo...you guys expect the full game or something?

You guys DO remember last year, right? One possession in a Madden moment? Four 1 minute quarters is a lot better than that.

Definitely not, but we've been accustomed to 2 minute quarters at the bare minimum. And still, people complain those are too short b/c you can't get into a rhythm. So I think folks complaining about one minute quarters is warranted.

I find it funny that you have to preorder to get your hands on a "demo." For a game this big, popular, and successful, it should be available to all gamers anyway. Nice business strategy.

You don't have to pre-order to get your hands on a demo. You have the option to wait until 7/30 I believe :P

Whats the big complaint? Go in, drop $5 and give them your e-mail addy. If you don't like the game, then go in and CHANGE your pre-order to something else.

Some gamestops even give your money back to you, just make sure you pay with cash. If they ask why, tell them "none ya"

I actually read somewhere that you could potentially pre-order Madden 10 online and then get the code then perhaps say "nah, I don't want it" and return it but keep the working demo. Not sure how legit this is but potentially a loophole.

So, is it to late to pre order this game online and still get the demo codes through email?

It's not a loophole. Gamestop has no problem with you cancelling a pre-order at anytime for any reason. Nothing shady happening here.

I frequently pre-order with Gamestop to get into betas and end up cancelling because the game either wasn't as good as I thought, or just because I found another smaller store that was selling the game a week before street date, which Gamestop can't do.

That will most likely happen again as I have pre-ordered Madden at gamestop and will most likely get it before street date from someone else.
