Madden NFL 10 GameStop Pre-Order Demo Codes Available July 15th (Destructoid)

	"GameStop has just announced that pre-ordering Madden NFL 10 for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 will net its customers an exclusive demo of the title. The demo will features four five-minute quarters, with the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers as the playable teams. Codes for the pre-order demo will hit stores by July 15, and the demo is slated to go live by the end of July."

I reserved and put down $10 and the guy at the store took my email address and said I would get a code by email. He did not say I had to pay in full. You should be fine.

same here. i put down $5 and the girl made sure to have my email address. if i don't get it by that afternoon, i'll go storm the store and demand it haha

i'm sure you're all set. i put down $5, got my receipt and the girl said it would be emailed to me. no need to wait outside the store etc. she did tell me it was guaranteed...the pre-order confirmation was the guarantee.

I was told by a manager that I know well that the rave cards will be in store on Friday. If you gave email, you will receive the demo by email, but they will have them on cards as well. Gamestop's website confirms this as well.

No, codes come out July 15th, and the demo comes out some time later in July.

Somebody lied to you celg.

This is how it's going to work. There will be a card with a code on it, split by system, delivered to the store. IF you pre-ordered in that store, you will be able to get that card. IF you pre-ordered online (web reservation) then you will get the code in your email. There's not really a need for all of this confusion, it's pretty simple.

The codes will be inactive until the demo is actually available, which Phil already said.

Also, DookieMowf, if it comes down that you don't get a code, PM me. My store might have extra codes, and if your store is busy, then they might run out. It all depends on how many people pre-ordered and come down for the code. You might be okay to miss the 15th, but any longer than that and you might be out of luck. So either way, hit me up and I'll see what I can do.

His reference to "that date" is July 15th, so it sounds like he's saying that the codes will be released on 7/15, but we won't be able to redeem said codes until a later [unspecified] date...

As far as the demo being available in-store on a disc... I have no idea. I told you my thread title editing prowess would be of no help.

There is not going to be a disc. Never trust anybody at GameStop. They are largely incompetent when it comes to games.

I don't know if it's cool or vogue to bash GameStop, but it's a little bit of a generalization to say that "they're largely incompetent when it comes to games" when EA (in case you're wondering, a fairly large player in video games) is doing significant business with the company, that speaks to the success of the company...if people were as incompetent as you say...then the company wouldn't have been successful at all.

Oddly enough, how do you suppose that you would get a demo of this caliber were it not for a large retailer to pair with?

Makes no sense to give us the code on the 15 and then make us wait untill later in the month to download the demo. Just put the demo up on PSN and XBL for all to play.
