From what I have seen in this video my question has been answered I guess, but I will forever be hopeful that one day the NCAA development team will make a game that rivals the game play of last generation consoles.
i guess, but i also guess that you'll have to base your decision on whether or not to buy the game off of gamer reviews, the video doesn't show how it actually FEELS to play it, who knows, maybe with all of the animation and tweaking that ea has done, it will handle alot better than previous titles.... i just find it hard to believe that people can write off a game and evan a COMPANY before the game has even release...... for god sake fellas! its a brand new game! you have only seen videos and read articles about it.... i say you should take a break from the forum and all the bad air that is roaming around these boards and see in 32 days how you feel

lol

I'm with countryboy the Kool-Aid crew. Once those rosters get cleared up, it'll be another year of Online Dynasty...with improved animations and AI this time around!

$60 for months of enjoyment. Sucks to be pessimist.

I'm still going to buy it because I am in love with Online Dynasty, but I don't need to play a game to see the flaws in the animation system. Those are evident in every video they showed.

Wow, so their idea of fixing the sideline catch problem is to let players completely defy the laws of momentum and turn upfield on a dime?

Please.

Classic example of trying to fix an open wound with a band-aid.

You can't take shortcuts like that and expect people to accept it as a legit fix when the main problem (NO MOMENTUM) still remains.

This was in NCAA 2005 on PS2/Xbox it's really a shame that we have to wait four years into the 360/PS3 development to see this technology rear it's head again. It's also amusing that they are advertising it like it's never been done before.

WELL there still might be the momentum catches where they continue out of bounds..... but idk if you were watching the same video i was, but im sure it was a video showing NEW animations

And there are still no new animations to facilitate sideline catches.

All they did was give you the ability to completely break free of the laws of physics to rocket up field on a dime.

Have you played All Pro Football 2K8?

In that game, there are actual animations where receivers drag their knees/feet or tap their toes to stay inbounds.

Or if they have enough room before they get out of bounds, they STOP, CUT, and then proceed upfield.

Not turn on a dime like a ballerina doing a pirouette and continue running full speed.

I'm actually impressed with what I saw in that video. I saw some things that should've previously been in the game that weren't, ie. the over the shoulder catch. Also the sideline catches are a HUGE improvement from the way receivers would tip toe catch about 5 yards inbounds in NCAA 09.

I want to see some of those WR/DB interactions lead to some pass interference and defensive holding calls in the game.

I agree 100% on this. I was excited by alot of the other new animations but the sideline catches are ridiculous. I personally think the sideline catches from 09 were more realistic. I would rather momentum carry my players out of bounds than to deal with the unrealistic turn ratios.

I'm just a happy guy I guess, I see the positive in this game. I don't say there aren't negative things, because there are many. But WTF am I gonna do about?

Exactly...I actually think NCAA 10 will be an improvement over NCAA 09. We won't really be able to tell until the demo is released.

Nice video! Now for some true gameplay to see the new stuff in action.. demo anyone?

disappointed.... no windsocks?

sideline catches like the ones in Madden, OL/DL looks better than '09(still needs work), love the WR/DB interactions, layered blending(QB can throw while being hit), shotgun hand-offs looks better(also got a look at the counter play from the shotgun), DL moves to the right thumb-stick, same for the QB avoidance controls, weather affecting WRs routes, wrap swats, improved gang-tackling(it's not the exact same 2-man animation anymore, and defenders can pile on the back of the ball carrier while another defender is in front), and over the shoulder catches. all good to me.

# 37 da ThRONe @ 06/11/09 11:49 PM
Its funny I thought 09 sideline catches should have been 10 catches. And there not using the over the shoulder catches at the right time but overall a lot of the animation was a plus.

# 38 da ThRONe @ 06/11/09 11:50 PM
Question are the DB's affected by bad weather or just the WR's?

Don't worry, you can see the flags fluttering at Papa Johns Stadium in the video.

I thought overall it looked pretty good. The WR animations on missed passes look good and we all should be happy that you can't throw a pinpoint pass while either wrapped up or with heavy pressure in your face. One thing that I really don't like about the gang tackles is that the 3rd defender who comes in ALWAYS bounces off like he's been shot. There is no going in for the "kill-shot".
