NCAA Football 10 News Post

Hey guys... so we are aware of the issue with no (or few) freshmen on some teams in TeamBuilder and yes the same issues are found on the NCAA 10 disc. Over the past few days, one of our top priorities has been investigating solutions.

The TeamBuilder teams require some data on the disc to set Depth Charts for every team created before they can be used in a game. For example if you use the Cupcake roster as a starting point, NCAA 10 will give you a default Depth Chart for the Cupcakes for your TeamBuilder team (which you can edit in game). This means any changes we make could cause some problems with teams already created using TeamBuilder. So we need to ensure we are taking to proper steps to correct the issues.

We understand the concerns with how this can affect Dynasty mode and Online Games, so we are working hard to have a solution in place before launch on July 14th.

Another issue that will branch from this, is its less time to tune other aspects of the game and more than likely will take away from any issues that need to be patched out of the box.

Thats not to be pessimistic, just realistic as every sports game, EA or not has had to be patched in the last 2-3 years. Be a shame to burn a patch and this kind of man hours on something that should have been relatively simple in the scheme of things.

Unfortunately I don't believe one bit that this is purely a teambuilder issue. It's a "somebody ****** up so let's find something to blame it on" issue.

The proof is in this thread.

Someone at EA needs to allocate more money and resources to the NCAA team.

I'll be passing on this game.

I don't have the money to blow $60 on a half finished game.

Russ or Adam, is delaying the release of the game a week or two to get the roster problem corrected on the disc an option? IMO, it may be one of the better ones as not everyone has access to Xbox Live/Playstation Network, and you owe it to every customer to give them at least accurate rosters.

Another option would be a price cut, as the product would obviously not be complete even.

Finally, I just don't understand how this could even happen. How could it go so long without anyone noticing? Simply unbelievable.

Speculation????? Come on guys! Do you really believe this was an oversight or an accident? Gimme a break man! EA DID THIS ON PURPOSE!

Okay seriously.....you don't think Sam Keller's lawsuit has nothing to do with the rosters being "accidentally" messed up?????? I SMELL A RAT!

There is no way they delay the release of the game with Madden coming out just one month later. Not going to happen. Frankly, who would want it to happen anyway.

this is a quote from the EA site. Are you kidding me? The wrong version of the rosters made the final build? I know things are hectic when making a game, but c'mon the frack on.

I highly, highly doubt that Keller's lawsuit had anything to do with this blunder.

the game is done, there is no tuning - if it's not in cert, it will be very soon

I know that some graduated/drafted players are still on the rosters. What if one of those players is already in madden? If you export the draft class you can have two now! not a bad deal.

For example imagine having two Aaron Maybins' (Dominating bookend defensive ends) or Crabtrees' ( two rediculous recievers).

You guys gotta take the positive out of this situation and look past the negative.

Neither of those things are happening.. It would be a black eye for EA, basically admitting their product is crap. They will ship the game on time & sell it at full price no matter what condition the rosters in (or the rest of the game for that matter).

Honestly...there is no way they didn't notice the rosters. They waited so long to say this. Here is what it is like to me:

Being a manager of a new store. You prepare for the opening then when the store is getting close to opening up you just now notice you got all of the wrong products coming in that you didn't want even though the public has been complaining about it since the store was announced. You are either a bad manager, don't pay attention, don't care, or thought the general public wouldn't notice.

There is no way this got past someone. If it did, we need an all new NCAA dev team next year.

so basically if you created a team with a roster (miami templeate for ex) and you made them all freshman changed all the year, name, etc. you have to redo it all on the game right?

# 117 countryboy @ 06/10/09 09:21 PM
Well this is a bummer. But they are working on a solution so the only thing now to do is wait and hope for the best.

I don't know about others, but I'd gladly wait an extra couple weeks if it meant the rosters would be right.

Load Hawaii's rosters in Teambuilder and look who is the starting quarterback. Sr. QB#3 (Tyler Graunke). He's graduated.

And I've seen some Auburn fans mentioning their roster has some graduating Sr's still on there. I'm sure there are many other examples that posters can chime in about their favorite teams.

Thankfully South Carolina's is pretty much spot on, even getting in 4 highly touted FR.

now these rosters from TeamBuilder were the game's actual rosters and they are screwed. When has EA screwed up rosters like this? Leaving people off(freshman, sophomores and juniors) and leaving seniors from last year in. And you still tell me Keller's lawsuit has nothing to do with this HUGE blunder? Open your eyes my friend.
