EA employee 2 - Yeah, almost.

EA employee 1 - Well you better cancel it. I just checked OS and it seems that they can't tolerate another video or wasted blog on a gimmick that no one really cares about.

EA employee 2 - But I worked so hard...

EA employee 1 - I know. Quick! Put together a video of something that should please them. Like maybe gameplay or something else that has to do with a football game.

EA employee 2 - I just don't understand it though... Why do they care about pass blocking or defensive back interaction when they can earn credits by kicking a field goal instead of going for it on a 4th down?

EA employee 1 - No idea. They act like we should have used used our resources on Season Showdown to add missing stadiums, referees, chain gangs, and custom playbooks or something...

EA employee 2 - What a bunch of *****. They will use Season Showdown and they will like it!

EA employee 1 - Muahahahahahahahahah

EA employee 2 -Muahahahahaha!

EA employee's 1 & 2 - *In unison* MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

EA employee 1 - But no dude, seriously - Scrap the video and talk about a jersey or something.

EA employee 2 -
LOL! Classic.

I saw this on the NCAA Strategies board. Before I start, I need you to understand something about my viewpoint. I am not an EA apologist, a.k.a. fanboy, that only buys EA games. I am very tight with my money and, like many of you, have been disappointed with an EA purchase (NCAA 2005, NBA Live 2006, etc.) that felt like money wasted. I've been there, I understand.

What I want to point out is we actually get to communicate with the devs on a regular basis, which is something we haven't had in the past. I'm not saying fawn over every word and reserve honest criticism, but some of the comments are uncalled for. Their job is not only difficult, but it appears they are on salary. That means they put in a lot of man hours away from family/friends working on a game that may or may not be well received, though their future income and their family's future depends on pleasing hardcore and casual fan alike.

This week I started learning to create/edit web pages and it's amazing looking at the code from pages of more popular sites (ESPN, etc.). If one character, comma, or period is out of place the whole page could be a blank or have a background without text. I can't imagine trying to make a game with millions of line of code that has to be exactly right or there will be a glitch somewhere, or the game will crash at startup or when loading a game. And to do this over and over through the course of a year for 60-80 hours a week so that, hopefully, the game is right when it's released.

I know many don't care, but that's my two cents. If you are that displeased with the game, don't buy it. Be more respectful of their time, as they voluntarily come on here, and have made game changes per our feedback. Remember they have no control over which feature or video is announced (or when). They answer to someone else just like many of us do.

Well I havent been on since Wednesday so I thought something would be up..but no? This late thing with NCAA is pretty consistent. I wish they were on top of things like the Madden team.

# 193 zoltan @ 05/22/09 02:08 PM
wow good post about the webpages........ maybe some people will think twice next time before they bag on the devs.

but come on, the devs arent like mathematical genuises, so it cant be that hard.

Hopefully its better than the past few videos, NCAA has been a disappointment thus far. Madden has been giving out more information and better videos! I Love NCAA, but come on you guys are killing me this year. NCAA better be freaking outstanding this year! Either they have little to show or a lot to hide!

Haha, thanks man.

In all honesty though, I really do believe that this years game will be an improvement, but the reason I am being so cynical is obvious - The people do not want a junk feature like Season Showdown. The time could have been better spent on more important things.

I am not mocking the EA guys, because for all we know this could have been an executive decision and they may as well have just been ordered to design this "feature."

I really hope they follow the Madden crew closer and adopt Ian's tag-line of "We are not about gimmicks" for the upcoming releases.
