I understand that, but the game rates players in the pre-season and these players would be 4-5 stars from the start and not talked to.

great video and nice menu system looks more stylish and easier to access.

Alright, taking a look at the improved statistics:
There are 7 QBs shown in the stats screen. A quick rundown:
Avg. QB Rating of Top 7 QBs: 184.4
Overall Completion % of Top 7 QBs: 68.7%
Yards per attempt of Top 7 QBs: 10.04
Touchdown rate: 10.0%

And, for comparison, the actual Top 7 QBs in 2008:
Avg. QB Rating: 171.6
Completion %: 67.6%
Yards per attempt: 9.26
Touchdown rate: 9.4%

The QBS are still a little too jacked up but it doesn't seem quite as bad as I recall in the past. The completion % and TD % aren't that far off, but the QB ratings are too high (probably too few INTs, which we can't see) and that yards per completion figure is pretty far out of whack.

Still, they're not totally insane numbers, although it would sort of depend on how many games they have played in that dynasty at that point for the overall yardage and TD figures.

it seems they optimized the menus a lot. the player's picture when looking at the rosters are like they were in NCAA '07(360). but back then it was kind of laggy in the menus.

Other than a purdy new menu screen, some decent looking player models, and improved CPU stats, this update was pretty much meh for me. And a note on the improved stats, I was relieved to see the USC QB complete less than 50 percent of his passes (an impossibility in NCAA 09) but was disappointed by the Florida QB's 144 of 192 pass completion (75 percent!).

I hate how developers always try to come up with these features that they think we will want. They keep adding all these excesses (competitive recruiting, custom conference, season showdown, etc.) when what we want is a solid football game with great gameplay and great presentation. Give us what we want EA: weekly recap shows, pregame/halftime/postgame shows, expanded playbooks, etc.

BTW, who wants CAS (or Teambuilder)? I play a college football game to get a true-to-life simulation not to make up schools that don't exist. Plus, the interface (if I remember correctly from 04) will include cheesy, generic uniforms and cheesy, generic mascots. No thanks.

I think Madden seems to be more on target with the true-to-life simulation. You don't see them adding CAS.

Not totally bashing, just asking. Cosmetically, everything looks great. The backgrounds were nice in the transfer clips. However, what is the need for having a player's profile with no helmet? I was totally fine with it the way it was. That and the players look like they're in their 30's. Unless EA is planning on showing actual roster players on the sidelines without their helmets is the only reason this is even necessary. It looks great though.

most likely rosters, depth chart, etc.. is still located under Team Management like it is on '09. what else would be in there?

I thought Sway could already do that. Am I wrong about that? If so, it's a good addition.

That's a good point.

I hope the CPU does this as well. Recruiting against the CPU was waayyyyyyyyy too easy in 09. Really hope we don't see classes with 10+ 5* guys...

I really wish the players had their helmets on, I like checking out their gear while I recruit them.

Oh well.

yea possibly, there was only 3 QB's with completion ratings in the 70's last year. Colt McCoy was 76.7%, Chase Daniel was 72.9% and Graham Harrell was 70.6%

I honestly hope the INTs are toned down in the sim engine (and also on the field). The high ratings are probably due to the high yards per completion like you mentioned. I want to see some guys in the low to mid 50% completion range too. It's been about 4 years since we've seen that (NCAA 05).

I just do not get how FSU could possibly be an A+ team or even an A-. They haven't been A worthy for the last few years. This just leads me to believe that ratings will be inflated again like they have been for the past years. I was hoping they would follow in Madden's footsteps in lowering player ratings so that only elite players are in the 90s while solid, dependable starters are in the 80s.

For me this is something that has always annoyed me because when you start giving out lots of 90+ ratings there is nothing to differentiate the elite players from the good players. It is like in a dunk contest when judges give out a perfect 50 for a solid above average dunk and then the next player goes and does something spectacular that completely crushes the previous dunk yet they get the same score because you have all ready inflated what a 50 should be.

I wish Madden and NCAA worked more together because I really like the direction that Ian is taking Madden and wish that he was also doing this for NCAA. Instead I feel like NCAA is just the step child and is being overlooked. This is disappointing as I prefer college football over pro football by far.

Thank you for summarzing Campus Legend mode.

Toned down in the sim engine???

Compare the real world INT totals to the game and it's about double what we're seeing in this game.

You'll be lucky to find one starting QB in NCAA 09 each season who has a TD/INT ratio under 1. In college football, there are at least 20 starting QB's each year who throw more INTs than TDs.

INT's need to be toned down in the actual gameplay engine and hopefully the new WR/DB interaction helps.

Russell... Thanks for the great vid. Did you fix the problem where the commissioner does not get progression during the season? Thanks.
