Anyways, I'm not sure how I feel about some recruits being held till the offseason. I see why they did it, but it's not like in real life a 5-star or 4-star just starts coming out of nowhere to get recruited in the offseason.
The competitive recruiting was well needed, guys that like to stockpile talent now when they are trying to recruit that stud WR even thou they have like 8 on their roster, you can talk down that schools playing time.

Otherwise, looks great. Can't wait!
I think what they're trying to do is create a national signing day by doing that.
The only thing that wouldve put that update over the top wouldve been spectators mode, but it was a good update.
this is generally what i got from the video, let me know if i missed something or a better way to describe it.
- new menus
- Campus Legend seems to be renamed to Rod to Glory
- TeamBuilder option in main menu(Possible CAS?)
- Season Showdown listed on main menu
- Custom Conferences(talked about before)
- Sim Stats have been tuned
- player's "picture" have been changed
- navigating the dynasty menus seem much smoother
- player promises and players leaving bugs are fixed
- the call recruit screen has changed
- some recruits wont be available till off-season
- you now can see how much interest is gained from each "pitch"
- you can now recruit against another school, to lower the recruits interest in that school
- WKU appears to be out of the Independent conference and in the Sunbelt like they should be for the 2009 season.

One thing, no 5* will ever go the length of the season without being courted heavily. That is just dumb and these guys are making up bogus situations that would never happen. That's not smart.
Next thing, in recruiting, there was a 6'1" 226 TE and I think he was the #2 TE in the nation. Get the sizes right. Also, make the sizes correspond with the player and his skill set. There are too many undersized QB's, TE's, OL's, DT's, DE's. Do a little research and find out what sizes are average and what minimum requirements coaches look for at certain positions. This has been screwed up since next gen started. GEEZ!
The #3 TE in the nation last year (in real life) was listed at 6'3 220. So guess what...that's a legit size for a TE!

OMT, hold the phone! Hope it's not too late...
Is there anyway to keep these 5* guys that will never be seen until the offseason out of the game? Here is why...
I think it would be best serve to simulate real life and have a few highly ranked players (randomly) each year commit early and to commit later. Say you have a guy that wants to commit late, like the 5*'s we are talking about. We simply need to have there "interest bar" move very very very slowly, making it a long drawn out battle to earn the player's commitment. I know some commit early and luck for the school but some wanna wait until NSD. Since we don't have that it would be great to have random players with a "slow interest bar movement" which would really make it realistic. The whole 5* stuff in the off season to me is silly.
Overall though I love all the new additions and I'm not griping one bit, just wanted to give some feedback for you and thanks for everything, cannot wait to 10.
My overall thoughts on NCAA 10 OD changes...
-Custom Conferences Already announced earlier, but I love this feature.
-Bug Fixes This is huge, I just hope they fixed a lot more problems than they created.
-New UI Looks nice.
-Seeing Results for Each Pitch Will take some of the mystery out of pitches but I think it will be fun. (I wonder how this will work with Quick Call.)
-Competitive Recruiting A cool idea, but unless there's more than meets the eye, it's more of a user-friendly change than a real added feature. As far as I can tell this simply takes the guesswork out of what pitches your rival school is good at. The swaying part seems to be no different than before.
For this being the big new feature, I would have thought maybe the impact of swaying would be increased, or you could specifically badmouth the rival school, maybe even lower the player's perception of that school's pitch in that recruits eyes (i.e. Alabama and Auburn are both considered A- championship contenders but you convince the kid that Alabama is not really that good and now the kid treats Alabama as a B championship contender).
-Improved Simulations I'll reserve judgment until I see it, but I'm glad they took a look at it.
-Some Prospects Not Available Until Offseason I don't get it. Adds some strategy I guess in terms of not knowing what positions you'll get a second chance at.

Its a little different than that. You are actually decreasing that prospect's interest in the school you are recruiting against. It is basically the opposite of the normal pitching process.

How is a 6'1" 226 guy and a 6'3" 220 lbs guy the same? If you're referring to Orson Charles, he's a tweener that might possibly play WR at the next level. The weight isn't as much a problem as the height. 6'1" is going to be an H-back or FB.
6'3" is right for the minimum height for a TE. It's the same way for QB's. Way too many 6'0" and under QB's. The Todd Reesing's, Chase Daniel, and Matt Groethe's are pretty rare. It's the 6'4" and up guys who are the big-time targets.

I think that makes plenty of sense. Some guys are just harder to get a commit and it should take longer to recruit them. Good call.
How many 4 or 5 star recruits aren't talked to until the offseason?
I'm sure theres a few players nationwide that don't get noticed until they're in the playoffs making incredible plays. Imagine a guy from a good school doesn't start until he's a senior. Over the year he progresses fast and is able to become a real force in playoffs. People didn't know who he was going into the season but they took notice when he made big plays on the big stage.
Nice update but I am NOT a fan of the holding recruits out until the offseason.
No 4 or 5 star recruit is going to be ignored during a season....never gonna happen.
I just don't see the point in this feature...completely needless IMO. If someone didn't bother to recruit effectively during the season, that's their problem. Not a fan of this.

This rarely ever happens. Some get under-rated but anyone who is talented enough to be labled a 4* or 5* is practically harassed by college recruiters. The only changes that deal with a highly rated prospect is when Bama offers and a 3* goes to the #2 or 3 rated overall player at his position in the nation. When a kid gets a Bama offer, they suddenly become the best player ever.
