PS3 Only

On behalf of the entire MLB The Show development team we would like to take this time to first thank everyone for playing MLB 09 and being so patient with us as we work through some of the issues the community has experienced. We are very aware of these problems and we would like to announce that we are indeed working on a patch to fix the most glaring offline and online bugs and glitches you have encountered in this years game. When the patch is ready for deployment we will give an update with the contents of the patch. In meantime, we have found a work around for one of the most glaring bugs, the Road to the Show crash. If you skip all training sessions (batting and base running) during the month of September you should be fine. We know this is not ideal, however until the patch is ready for public release this will allow you to continue playing your RTTS save files (if the save file is before entering a training session). We take these issues and concerns very seriously and we do apologize for the inconvenience. Once again, thank you for your time and your patience. We will update the community as soon as the patch release date is set.

It's by far the biggest weakness in the game. I would really hope they would address this and how the fielding error slider works (only works right for the cpu).

No. Sony did a firmware update and on your XMB you have to scroll all the way to the left and do a System Update to play online (for any game).

# 64 dope281game @ 04/08/09 11:36 AM
I tried that ...it says the latest version is in there so there is no need for system update...I played madden online and it worked fine..

I have noticed this as well too. I never get errors, but the CPU all the time.

BUT, bring on the Patch!!!

I truly appreciate this, but it does suck that I will have to wait until possibly May before I can start any sort of real franchise.

Also, I'm not sure how closely the Devs have followed this, but any idea of whether or not the patch will kill Knights rosters in any way? Or on the flipside, make them even better?

Just curious.

I get fielding errors and so has the CPU. I hope they will fix the Braves uniform issue. On the game, they wear the wrong hat with the "road" gray jerseys and the "road" alternate blue jerseys.

Why do you say you can't start a franchise until May?? For all we know, they could have this patch out in a week. Maybe you heard that somewhere and if you did, that does suck..... but I really believe the patch will be released sooner.

My guess is May 1st week. They have been looking into problems up until last Friday, when they said they would have an anouncement. They also have stated that There is development time, QA time followed by approval through Sony. So my guess is 3 to 4 weeks.

Yeah, I was just guessing at how long it might take. Hopefully it won't, but given the sheer number of issues, I'm not holding my breath.

That's not exactly so, if you look in the bug list I posted a gameplay issue bug.

Do you use manual fielding or auto? If it's auto then they treat you like the cpu. I don't have a problem with the cpu making fielding errors. I also see throwing errors on both sides. But the user controlled fielding errors are far too low. Like I said before, I've played 35 season games and have committed a total of 3 fielding errors and NONE of them were scored as errors. I have ZERO officially scored fielding errors in 35 games and 29 of those games are with Cinci who is a bad defensive team. That's simply unacceptable to me.

I play on All-Star and read the higher difficulty levels might be better but I'm not going to get my butt kicked on HOF or Legend just to see if I can get a realistic amount of errors. I'm already 11-18 with the Reds.

My bad Rudy, I was thinking throwing errors instead of fielding. I haven't had many of those. I use manual fielding and play on all-star.

Actual people who show up versus attendance figures are very different. They just use tickets sold for those figures. The Tiger Blue -Jay game last night had almost nobody there. Seats 20 rows behind 3rd base are empty and yet they said 12,000 people were there. No chance. The Pistons have a huge consecutive sellout streak (possibly broken the last couple months, I don't know) and the Palace holds around 21,000 and yet most people there say the place is 1/3 empty.

Most sports modified actual attendance to tickets sold to make them look better.

I agree. I'm just shocked not as many people know this....being that this is a forum with many sports fans.

Texas Rangers has been wearing red hats, socks, and helmets at home.

Can the uniforms be patched?
