Playstation.Blog has posted another MLB 09 The Show blog. This one covers the new and improved A.I.

"Today we’re going to show you some of our new and improved A.I. for MLB 09 The Show. Realism is THE most important thing to use here on the MLB 09 The Show team. Year in and year out, with a development team that has a wealth of baseball knowledge, not only as fans of the game but development members that have actually played the game at very high levels, we dedicate ourselves to making the most realistic baseball experience possible. That being said, there were a few things about last year’s game that were a bit frustrating and not as realistic as we would have liked. As much as we would like to tackle every idea out there, we strategically have to pick and choose our battles. This year we decided to work on a little bit of everything, so today I’m going to highlight four of them."

I believe that's a "Yes" to your question.

Jim,
It just gets better and better. I'm pleasantly surprised with how much was accomplished this year.

Have fun at the meeting! can't wait to hear all the feedback...

Wow, just seeing the route Sizemore took and him come up throwing was worth it. I can't believe how much better this is going to be and I love 08 still.

I'm not from Brooklyn but they will always be the Brooklyn Dodgers to me.

Maybe in 2010 we will have an option to play our "Boys of Summer" in Ebbets...

I never though there would be a better game than '08 but it looks like i was wrong...Berkman's stance is on point and the bat flip by Puljos and Soriano is so damn real. This game is beyond sick. Im so glad i purchased a PS3 last season just for this game (and blu-ray). Like one poster said, they could charge $150 for this game and I still would pick it up (I'm serious SCEA but please don't actually charge that much...LOL)

I won't be playing my season until I'm finished with the Full Minors.
But that's okay...I probably play close to 400 games(or at leas part of them) when I'm testing as edit..so that's something!

Now....I think I have to officially retire my '08 franchise.
Just looking at all that new sweetness in '09 is unreal.
AWESOME job SCEA...you've done it again
Seriously....all these new additions....two new stadiums....multiple stadium updates on older stadiums....and all those new franchise additions....How many guys are working on this thing!?
Fan-friggin'-tastic...

I'll still play some LEGENDS games...but I'm very pumped for '09(Hello Captain Obvious!)
Someone mentioned bunting in the video...I didn't catch that....if anyone can point it out....Thanks!

Finally can make the short throw to second for the third out. Also even nice to see the outfielders take a diffrent aproch to fielding the ball. Can't wait for March.

WOW! The fielding animations are the best I have ever seen again this year. The short hops, stabs, the transitions, all of it looks perfect. Once again this year, can't wait for MLB!

For some people I would say it was. To be honest I did not even see those things in the vids, I was concentrating on the the baseball fundamentals.

Haha...
Well I don't know how many people read the blog...

But ..(although we knew already).....going the short way for the last out!......AND....
FINALLY!!!!...the fielder going to tag the runner if he's close rather than ignoring him and making the throw.
"The CPU will do this as well. Another side note, the CPU will tag your runner in the baseline if he can, instead of ignoring the runner and throwing to the base. You guys that play our game know what I mean."

NICE!

I was so pumped up for last year's game, mainly because I bought a PS3 just for it (and GTA IV - I beat that once and never played it again, but I still play 08 The Show like every single day). But, I can't believe I'm actually more pumped up for this year's game. I find it unbelievable that so many people can gripe about no homerun derby and no freakin world baseball classic. Are you kidding me?? Last year's game was incredible, and look at all the new additions they made for 09! 08 is so addictive that I play at least 1 to 2 games a day (and my wife wants to kill me)... I can't imagine what 09 will do to our marriage.
