The highly anticipated patch for NBA 2K9 will arrive for the PS3 on December 3rd. Xbox 360 owners will have to wait, but it shouldn't be far behind.

You can find the bug fix list, right here.

"I have been informed by Sony that the NBA 2K9 patch has cleared and is expected to be available within the next 48 hours. My next post will chronicle the changes expected in the patch. Obviously the 360 patch was submitted to Microsoft at the same time and it's now a matter of their timing on when they release the patch on XBL. I imagine it will be a matter of days and when I know exact timing, I will inform you. As you can see, the community made a major impact on decisions made in this patch so for all our titles, remember to post your thoughts and wanted changes and I will collect them with the moderators. You can make a huge impact on our games. Thanks..."

Honestly no I don't see a big difference. This is only based on 1 game, but it seems like things were turned down for the user more than the computer, lol. The cpu still went inside alot, if you breathe on the lock-on D they throw a lead pass(just testing it to see if they changed it), I still saw a number of alley-oops, and the ghost lay-up was still in full effect. What made it worse was that I missed alot more perimiter shots, three's, and easy inside buckets that the computer just seemed to sink. I wouldn't mind my shooting percentage if the cpu's matched it, but that just was not the case. I turned it off in the 4th and the cpu was still shooting 68%.

I think I've just grown tired of the things possible in this game, which is sad because the game is presented so brilliantly, has incredible animations and the atmosphere is unmatched IMO. It's just the sliding, the interior passing that is possible, ball clipping, and the cheap AI has driven me away. Again only played 1 game, so if this was a fluke I'll come back and admit I was wrong, but as of now this game is just not for me this year. I might check out some of the sliders post patch, but they can only fix so much.

DC, when will you be releasing your very own basketball game? I am asking because you seem more open to finding faults and criticizing these days than contributing so I assume you must have the perfect video game ready to hit the market.

Can anyone confirm if the patch addresses that the number of Back door passes the cpu makes is limited so that there's less PIP?

From the three games I've played (in the middle of my third), I'll agree with Sage that the patch seems to affect the user more than the cpu. I can't quite say for sure yet because of the small source of games I've played, but that's the feeling I got so far.

Jai......are you playing on default pro?? If that's the case maybe there was also some tweaking done to the sliders to where they function correctly or more so than before the patch? Just an idea, but I'm probably wrong. Guess I'm just hoping that now with some slider work, the game will be amazing.

I've played 2 games(6min. quarters) on Pro with default sliders. No back door bull, no alleys with cpu taking jumpers on consistent basis. Maybe it's my copy.

2K cam lag free online! It's a glorious day!

# 156 tcnumba10 @ 12/02/08 01:01 PM
So the Patch really addressed the number of backdoor passes the CPU made which lead to a high # of PIP? and that now the CPU plays more of a mid-range game like in real life?

Pro and All-Star are so different this year. It's been said enough on the forums and I guess those that are enjoying the game just don't have the energy to keep repeating themselves.

You guys should see some new stuff post-patch, even despite the placebo effect.

I'll see when I get home from work, but I think those of us who are enjoying the game will be even happier, while those who are put off by some of the gameplay/A.I. design decisions will still be frustrated.

Pared....I agree with you about the pro vs "higher" difficulty levels.....Haven't seen it post-patch (still @ work), but the game played well on pro difficulty before the patch...I can't wait to play tonight when I get home.

Any problems with the CAP DNA feature? Is it working as it should now?
