The highly anticipated patch for NBA 2K9 will arrive for the PS3 on December 3rd. Xbox 360 owners will have to wait, but it shouldn't be far behind.

You can find the bug fix list, right here.

"I have been informed by Sony that the NBA 2K9 patch has cleared and is expected to be available within the next 48 hours. My next post will chronicle the changes expected in the patch. Obviously the 360 patch was submitted to Microsoft at the same time and it's now a matter of their timing on when they release the patch on XBL. I imagine it will be a matter of days and when I know exact timing, I will inform you. As you can see, the community made a major impact on decisions made in this patch so for all our titles, remember to post your thoughts and wanted changes and I will collect them with the moderators. You can make a huge impact on our games. Thanks..."

Substitutions and Points in the Paint definitely fixed.

Goal tending, I'll need more time with.

2K Cam, while smoother, still stutters, nothing like 2K8 Playable though I guess.

I just hope yall don't start imagining things being changed and then reporting it back to everyone else.

"Oooh the textures have been updated"
"I see new scrolling ads @ Verizon Center"

You know how yall dudes are.....

Higher degree of difficulty passes are still an issue. Seeing too many thread-the-needle types completed without an off-target throw by the passer or bobble/mishandle by the receiver.

This is the patch length that Live needed to address! There are so many fixes, to completely fix this game!! Great job 2K!

Even with the Help Defense slider turned up to 100, perimeter defenders located on the weakside of the court still face-guard their man. These guys should be standing on the edge or at the corner of the paint ready to converge on any attempted drives to the basket.

Just tried a quick team up game, 10 players, still lagged as before. Took a few people leaving and it got better, which still isn't a true 5 on 5 experience. I will say before though, I couldn't get in a good game with even 4 people, so it is better than before.

Cool stuff, I'll have to dust of 2K9 this week.

I'm curious about this as well. When I load my season up today, will it play the same or will the new updates be implemented within the game?

When you say points in the paint are fixed, do you mean that the cpu doesn't attempt as much PitP as before, or does it mean that they attempt the same just that they make less (as a result of upping defense + lowering shooting percentages)?

Interior passing is more difficult to do. I've seen more deflections and turnovers here whenever passes going toward the basket are attempted. Big men defending the basket area move quicker to challenge shots taken inside the paint. Still, inside shots are falling in quite frequently, though.

Thanks Kruza.
Still, inside shots are falling in quite frequently...Are you playing with default sliders or with your set???

I'm definitely seeing more misses from the cpu when contested, both in the paint and from the perimeter. Default sliders, pro. Maybe it's me but I think the overall flow is better. Playing with Heat right now, players seem a lot quicker on the break. I've just had a great fastbreak, Wade was pushing it with the ball in the middle with Marion and Banks running the wings ahead of him.

Edit: fastbreaks are great right now, I've just thrown a 3/4 court pass to a srtiking Cook, he caught the ball, without stopping, for a dunk.

Just leads me to FURTHER believe that many people that work on this game have no clue about BASKETBALL
