The highly anticipated patch for NBA 2K9 will arrive for the PS3 on December 3rd. Xbox 360 owners will have to wait, but it shouldn't be far behind.

You can find the bug fix list, right here.

"I have been informed by Sony that the NBA 2K9 patch has cleared and is expected to be available within the next 48 hours. My next post will chronicle the changes expected in the patch. Obviously the 360 patch was submitted to Microsoft at the same time and it's now a matter of their timing on when they release the patch on XBL. I imagine it will be a matter of days and when I know exact timing, I will inform you. As you can see, the community made a major impact on decisions made in this patch so for all our titles, remember to post your thoughts and wanted changes and I will collect them with the moderators. You can make a huge impact on our games. Thanks..."

Points in the Paint – In an effort to increase user satisfaction, we have tuned interior defense in combination with shooting percentages for shots taken in the paint. The result is something we feel will be more in-line with what our users are expecting.

Does that mean It will be harder to score in the paint? I hope so because it is way to easy to get in there and pound the paint.

I'm glad they got the Quick sub memory issue fixed. It was really annoying to lose previous changes. The shot percentage issue and simulation scores fix sound good too. Thanks 2K

LMFAO with all the people crying about how you couldn't use the 2k cam online and how it was soo laggy im surprised i haven't seen any of them thanking 2k for listening to them when they were whining and crying, lol but thats the habitat of TROLLS they find something to complain about then when its fixed they pull out all nighters trying to find something wrong soo they can start trolling about that

I did not see anything about flex schedule for online leagues. That sucks.

For those people 'expecting' floor spacing and the draw and kick game to be improved, I think they will be dissapointed.

I do not think they could address something like that in a patch. Maybe the help D slider effectiveness was tweaked but, I highly doubt that also.

Improved D and lower shot percentages in the paint, will be more than enough for me to start and finish a season in NBA2K9 this year.

Hopefully Rob, Simballer and co. can get started on the spacing issues ASAP for 2k10.

BTW, this is a impressive list of gameplay fixes.

I'm looking forward to FINALLY starting my season.

EDIT: after second thought, last year the changes took affect even if u had a Association in progress already so the answer should be no u dont have to start all over.
Whew, good to hear.

The list of fixes looks pretty good. Wednesday will be an early Christmas!

acutally, the main problem i had is the way the cpu plays on offense, i m so disappoitned they didn't mention anything about the backdoor passes, lead passes, those cheating moves by cpu, i hope when they said pip, it means these things are all gone so i can acutally play at hof level with realstic gameplay

I'm going back to Default sliders to see what's what, and then re-tune from there. I know with CHoops 2k8 they listed a lot of things in the patch list, but made a whole lot of additional "stealth" gameplay changes that really took the game to another level. I'm excited to what other rough edges they were able to smooth out.

Well I won't be touching this game until December 3rd. I haven't touched a single slider, so I'm expecting this game and its results to be drastically different to what I'm accustomed to. From the sound of things, they address two of my bigger issues in regards to the gameplay, which is the high success of shots in the paint, and the ridiculously high shooting %'s. Now for us association users, the number one thing that has to stand out now is realistic sim scores. Way too many teams were averaging over a 100 PPG, and some of the games final score honestly looked like they could have went triple OT. When all is said with this patch, what I'm most hoping for is a game where a defensive battle can be had, as oppose to the constant track meets.

yes...YES..YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSSSS

I am really hoping the 2K Cam is back to its greatness and that there is a defensive presence in the lane - don't like seeing Nate Robinson back down Bargniani, no matter how much of a wimp the 7 foot tall Italian is.

Great news! I might finally pick up 2k after all. I'll wait and see first though, let the impressions thread develop.

I do hope that the way the cpu plays is changed though, and not just shooting percentage tweaks.

The PitP fix for example - does that mean the cpu will be less likely to pound it in the paint/go for backdoor cuts along with the defense bump + shooting percentage tweak, or does it mean that the post and backdoor cut frequency will be the same, just that it will be harder to score there?

I'm hoping for the former. And anything that helps with the sliding and spacing will be great.

K I may have to go with Live then. Unless this plays better/like 2K8 (Which I loved).
